Was it a full throttle acceleration? Comparing it to a 190ps oder 245ps 2.0tsi it doesn't look much faster?! An my 190 ps 2.0tsi (seat leon) runs over 250 and this relatively quickly.
I have heard that Windscreens that are able to display Headup Displays clearly are very expensive to replace from rock or other damage, if so I would prefer the small pop up screen.
the auto might shift quickly and be fun with fast shift, but if i can afford one soon i hope.. it is gonna be a manual, acording to manufacturer webpage, cost les, uses less fuel and i cheap to maintain.
Disagree with some of your points, I have 2020 manual so I can compare,, heads up display has its uses, for long distance driving, lane assist and distance measuring between car in front is great, auto gearbox dies of death before its at its limit, most hot hatches have piped in sound now, you never said much about electric slip dif/dampners/stearing, all great, I do agree though on digital dash, to flashy for this car, and they delay on modes is terrible. As always these are my opinion, 👍🏴
To add to your digital dash comment, I personally like the graphics but the FPS is really low. It's very stuttery when the needles are moving. Not very nice.
He doesn't say head up display is bad but this type of head up display. The plastic panel does look bad and old, the one displayed on the windshield is better.
@@cyberpope2137 it's more expensive on premium cars because the manufacturer overprices them not because it's expensive to make. I personally rather just not to opt in a plastic hud for like, 500€ was it? Like not worth it unless it was the one to the windshield
What would like to see is max comparing the 1.0 eccoboost with st line styling, next to a st, you will fing apart from the the shape there are lots of differences, that was a bad reference.
Does the fake sound happen all the time or just when the radio is on? I have never driven a car with this, my newest car is a 2014 so this was not a thing 7 years ago.
@@EliKirkMusic That's not the reason they stopped production. They were built here in Michigan along with the regular trim Focus, so they weren't bringing them in. The Focus actually sold really well for Ford. The problem was the faulty DCT Powershift automatic that Ford didn't properly address. The issue with that transmission became so bad that it affected sales. 2 things should have happened: a) Ford should have changed the transmission during the previous generation, not wait until this new generation when they finally fixed it, and then they stopped offering it in the U.S.! b) more Americans should have bought the excellent 5 speed manual transmission Focus (but Americans by and large are too lazy to shift for themselves or learn how, even with the outstanding Ford gearbox and clutch). That herky jerky dry clutch DCT cost Ford their loyal Focus customer base. Why they doubled down with it rather than ditch it is beyond me, but that's why they stopped production in the U.S., not because of sales. The ST was very popular in the Focus lineup, and its popularity would have grown in the US with this new generation. It's not too late for Ford to rectify their poor decision. All they have to do is either bring back the Focus hatchback and the Focus ST along with it, or just import the Focus ST from Germany alone. There is still a huge market for these Enthusiast driver's cars here, and Ford would DOMINATE this market share, taking away business from VW (GTI/GLI), Honda (Si/Type R), Subaru (WRX/STI), Hyundai (Veloster N etc. ) and the upcoming Toyota GR Corolla.

The unreliable dual clutch was only in the NA and Australia, ours in Europe didn't have issues. Which begs the question why didn't Ford NA replace theirs.
@@-DC- bullshit, the first Fiesta to get an auto in Europe was the 1.0 Active which started production in 2018 and it's a torque converter - the ones which caused issues in the NA were DCTs. Seriously, why are you talking about stuff you aren't familiar with?
@@e91lol that sounds like almost every other DCT transmission we get in these parts. DSG/S-Tronic reliability tanks after 200k as well, especially if you forget to service it. The DCT which caused problems in the NA was eating clutches every 100k km.

Wouldn't hurt to ask for the Fiesta ST and/or the Puma ST 6 speed manual as well!

I agree! I don't like digital garages at all!!! I prefer the analog gouges
Was it a full throttle acceleration? Comparing it to a 190ps oder 245ps 2.0tsi it doesn't look much faster?! An my 190 ps 2.0tsi (seat leon) runs over 250 and this relatively quickly.
The automatic kills the acceleration...the Manual is much faster. 0-100 (0-60) Automatic: 6,1 seconds
Manual: 5,7 Seconds
@@banimeyer6415 and VW lies about HP Numbers, so people think vws are fast for their hp
Hi is the mk4 automatic transmission reliable on a ford focus?
I have heard that Windscreens that are able to display Headup Displays clearly are very expensive to replace from rock or other damage, if so I would prefer the small pop up screen.
The windscreen doesn't display it, there is a projector tat projects it onto the windscreen.
the auto might shift quickly and be fun with fast shift, but if i can afford one soon i hope.. it is gonna be a manual, acording to manufacturer webpage, cost les, uses less fuel and i cheap to maintain.
@@owo7094 Both you and Max missed the point of this hud - its a 2-3x cheaper option than most windshield ones you can option in (mostly) premium cars
5:17 is the START
Does the fake sound happen all the time or just when the radio is on? I have never driven a car with this, my newest car is a 2014 so this was not a thing 7 years ago.
This could well beat the Golf GTI in the driving department (which matters most)... but that interior... and that noise...
Go for the 6 speed manual Focus ST and the sound and driving experience is better than the Golf GTI
Thumb up for not liking the digital dial
This is on of the best drivers cars!
I would like to see a review of ford focus st the diesel one
I'am from TURKISH I love you 🇹🇷🥀❤️❤️
I wish we would've got these in the states... But manual...
They didn't sell well. That's why they stopped bringing them in.
How's torque steer? I had to put a Quaife LSD in my '13 to cure it.
Hi Max, I am a big fan, really enjoy your videos, can you review the new Skoda Octavia VRS, thanks
Nice job
Max, you’ve driven a megane RS 300 Trophy, how would you compare?
And the EDC version vs the Focust ST auto?
That car looks great. Too bad they might not have it in the US?

@@danielleroux6490 Lol, won't work.
I really want one of these cars, I drive a 2014 focus and it would be a nice upgrade ;)
the gearbox seems to be good for a torque converter, after the unreliable dual clutch trasnmition, imagine if launch another car to succed the focus, awd 2.5 i5 or i6(i dont reallly like the 4 banger) hybrid to be good with regulation
The unreliable dual clutch was only in the NA and Australia, ours in Europe didn't have issues.
Which begs the question why didn't Ford NA replace theirs.
@@xIcarus227 yeah but also in Europe was some problems with it i know some people after about 200k km +/- they need to repair it or replace
@@xIcarus227 Fiesta and Focus both had the terrible powershift transmissions in Europe, utterly crap from day one.
The DCT which caused problems in the NA was eating clutches every 100k km.
yeah you should be able to disable the fake sound. it just is too noisy and seriously would give you headache after a little bit while.
why has the automatic no "pops" and "bangs" like the manuell version? does anybody know that?
Probably because the automatic has no Antilag.
@@herrherre2644
sounds logical, thank you
I am wondering, what is the difference between 2.3 ecoboost and 2.3 disi?
Same block that's all, everything else is different
I like this Jobs Men
silly question but cant you just mute the speakers? a good tune might fix the lazy gearbox imo
請問這是全原廠,沒有經過任何改裝的測試嗎?
Interestingly enough, I don’t think the US ever got an automatic version of the ST or RS. I could be wrong tho, I’m not an expert
Completed right, one of the very few times were we got the cooler model😂
The US didn't get this generation of focus at all. The previous gen were manual only
The focus rs was only made in Manuel anyway
jst needed to hear that entrance muzic always lights me up now off to the gym
I like the fake noise, it sounds like a boxer 4 to me, and that's a good thing as opposed to the shitty raspy turbo fours that plague the market these days.
A very nice car...this is the beauty of the car...the fact that it is sleeper...🤔
I own an Focus ST mk3 fl and i love it. It also have the fake sound but it doesnt sound like an freakin 4 stroke motorcycle😂 RIP mk4
