Hey if you are putting out info on stopping thieves from stealing cars. The RFID bag is good but there are a few things you must know. First the RFID bag works if you use it properly. The bag must be used as soon as you get out of the car. Don't use your fob key to lock your car. Push the button to lock your. If the thieves are near you they can pick up your signal, so put your key in the bag before you walk away. Second is to go back to the dealer and get them to disable the extra key fob slots. Most cars can program up to 8 key fobs. You only need 2. Note if you walk away from your car and use your fob key they can capture your signal and unlock your car. Your car will remain open and will relocate your car in 30 seconds. That is 30 seconds the thieves can walk over open the door. Once the door is open it disable the car alarm. Note if you return to your car and your key fob does not work, that means the thieves capture your signal but you can regain by getting in with your hard key put your fob key on the start button and start your car. This is the way to regain fob key signal. If you don't do this the thieves still have excess to your car. The black box you speak of have only one function, to unlock cars so you won't here it beep just you lights flashing. Airborne triple nickel 555
These are good tips. Question, if you have the dealer bring the slots down to 2, can't the thief open slots back again when they are plugged into the OBD port? Also, when you say push the button to lock, do you mean the button on the handle? Doesn't it still communicate with the fob anyways? This feature says it requires a fob nearby to work.
Wow that’s crazy whenever I have my key near my wallet, bag, even cell phone my key fob won’t be detected both my wallet and bag has rfid in it made me so paranoid that it was fucking up my key fob so I keep it away from my wallet and bag. But also my iPhone 12 blocks the signal of my key fob
@@mbaladon answer to your question is only if they capture your signal can they can use that signal to that slot and that fob key. They can not open any other slots because they are protected with a 8 digit pin program by dodge. Dodge don't give this pin out even if you request it. So those 6 slots that is locked or enabled can't be used without that pin. Now if those slots are open than the high thieves can make a duplicate. One way to fine out your signal is captured is if you come back to your car and your fob key does not work, it has been captured. Use your manual hard key to get in and take your fob key and press the start button with the fob key this will regain the signal and lock the other signal captured. Airborne triple nickel 555

I own two R/Ts and just bought a Hellcat Widebody Redeye. This is extremely useful information for my wife and I. Thank You, Hemi Muscle! That Octane Red is a really pretty color. I love it!
Yo Hemi Muscle you have provided some exceptionally good history on auto thefts and ways to deter. Often said, locks, etc. are for honest crooks, not those that want an easy target. I have owned at least 10 MOPAR products in my life, mostly Dodges, that included Dart/Road Runner/Cordoba/Chargers/Satellite Sebring Plus/R/T and now a 2021 Scat Pack. At 81 years of age, I am still coachable and always open to learning. To help with the additional items from Uconnect safety, I have purchased the protective FOB pouch, a big yellow police car boot for the front tire, a small bear clip boot for the rear and a steering wheel extension lock. If they want it, they will just have to lift it and put it on Da’ Flatbed as you said. My business trip last week (3 nights in hotel) drew a lot of attention/laughs when they saw the Scatty decked out in the items mentioned above. One guy said, you AINT making it easy Pops. I also plan to purchase a car alarm system that will activate when the rear windows are broken for entry. In addition, I do carry, and I will allow 12 peers to decide (if given the chance) in lieu of 6 peers to give me my last ride. I hope this will deter most inexperienced criminals and some experienced, because anything that is hard to get or is drawing max attention while doing so sometimes saves the day. We did not buy these Whips for some low lifes to take advantage. Again, thanks for your help.
I made a small box and lined it with about 6 layers of regular tin foil. All the inside and the inside of the lid too to make the Faraday cage. I put all my vehicle fobs in there and once that lid goes down, they're all totally safe. No signals getting in or out. It's super easy and convenient to just leave your keys-with-keyfob in your coat pocket or purse but you just have to make it a habit and a priority to put it in the box. It's easy and effective protection. You can use a cardboard box or any small wooden box as a base. Strangely, some metal boxes don't work but if you line it with tin foil then it will work. Aluminum works way better than copper too. Cast aluminum doesn't work well but aluminum plate/sheet/foil does. Go figure.
Don’t know if anyone else know but you can also turn off the passive entry off through the settings on your radio. A lot of dealerships don’t tell you about that. Just a tip.
Check these fob pouches every week by trying to start vehicle with fob inside. I have found some products to "wear out" as eventually I was able to start car with fob inside or even unlock doors. I do like the method demonstrated here, pressing unlock while in pouch. It will help to determine range of fob while in pouch and help decide if pouch needs replacing. Definitely get the box for at home to store all your fobs. Removing batteries from spare fobs is also good practice. Sometimes I even remove the battery from my primary fob and use the manual door key (recut from the old school chrysler-style brass key blank) and press fob against button to start vehicle.
