Hi Lumabox my madmapper demo on windows10 not show subdivision function when select box of mesh warping so i can't divide mask and necessary to do by draw it. (projector still not connected) am I doing something wrong?
This was a wonderful tutorial! Now I know everything I needed to know to get started. You narrate very clearly and have a clear structure. I love that you also included the camera perspective of the real thing, so you can see the results. Also: I didn't even know cake mapping was a thing 😁
Hi, your videos are the only way I was able to learn how to do cake mapping successfully for weddings along with full ballroom mapping! Thank you! I have many questions however I will ask 1 for now. In one video, you showed messages from guests to the bride and groom and they were being written onto the cake. I use madmapper and know how to input text into the mapping but I have never seen it done that way. I want to add that as a new feature but I cant figure out how you did it. Any insight would be great! Thank you
To add, I would rent a number from twilio to use so people can text in what they want to say during the event. I could write it out and put it up but the way yours were being written on there like someone writing it in real time is an amazing effect Id love to learn. Thanks
If you join this FB group someone has asked the same question and in the comments there are some suggestions on how to do it facebook.com/groups/projectionmappinghub
@@roger7447 what I mean about the messages on the cake? I'm not sure which video it was but lumabox in the comment above is the one who did the video it was on.
I don't think I do, only with layout 1. But I map with layout 2 in this tutorial ua-cam.com/video/gVTjA1nwZro/v-deo.html and if you understand that process there, it shouldn't be too hard to replicate it in MadMapper if you've got comfortable with the basics.
I love your videos, thank you! The only problem I have is, on my tests the beamer outline is always visable, this is probably because my beamer is too cheap right? What do I need to look out for when buying a beamer? I wanto to remove the backround as much as possible. Thank you for the videos!
Hi. It might be because your projector is cheap and has a low contrast ratio, though this is a very common problem, even with more expensive projectors and is somewhat unavoidable. Look out for high contrast ratios and read reviews about a projectors 'black level' performance. Alternatively, you could stick with the one you have and try some inexpensive practical workarounds like 1) backlight the wall, 2) use a very non-reflective backdrop (like black fabric) or 3) move the cake away from the wall so there isn't a surface for the spill light to hit.
The cake guide is 2048 by 2048 and on drawing the inputs quads you use the cake guide and then switching to the video that will be projected instead of the guide and the inputs quads fit really good on the video, how is the video 1920 by 1080?
The particle cascade in the tutorial is 1080 x 1080, the same as the guide. The assets I've linked to in the description are larger: 2048 x 2048 (I downsized them for the tutorial to optimise performance) but, again, the guide and the particle cascade are the same size as each other.

Yes you can. You basically have to 'unwrap' the form as if you wanted to lay it flat. This tutorial might be of a little help, but it's still in relation to cake mapping ua-cam.com/video/y8qF-PA2qO4/v-deo.html
In this video I cake map with a cheap projector so you can see what to expect ua-cam.com/video/HLIt9w4XGms/v-deo.html You can get good deals on second-hand projectors too, so you could consider that. I list the projectors I use here www.lumabox.com/materials-equipment/
Hi lumabox, madmapper seems much easier than resolume I have purchased about 5 animations from your site and will purchase all of them next month. Now I'm undecided whether to buy Resolume for nearly $ 800 or a madmapper for about half the resolume. What do you suggest me? (animations for the first communion of children you have not produced?) Too much thanks
Hi Roger. Well, it sort of depends. Do you want to want to be able to interactively adjust the videos/effects during the event or do you want to start it and leave it? If the latter - yes, I like MadMapper. Sorry I don't have anything specifically for first communion at the moment - but that's a nice idea! 🙂
Hello , thanks you for your vidéos it's perferct for me and my start. I have a question for you: How Do you for send nothing vidéo on tour face. IF you want send a vidéo on a face you selecte your face and toi choise your vidéo but if you want reset this face what IS the technique ? Thanks and sorry for my english

If you only want video content to show on some (not all) of your cake tiers, select those chosen tiers in the list on the left, then double click your material on the right. So, say you want video just on the top tier, select the mesh that covers your top tier, and double click on a material to assign it to that mesh. Have I understood what you are trying to achieve? Where are you having trouble?
Any questions, shoot 'em my way :)

Hello.
I want to project some images (such as png and other type of file, not videos tough).
Do you know some simple software that could do it?

Thank you for your kind words 🙂

You can use any kind of graphics editing software. With Preview on a Mac or Photos or Paint on Windows.
