This is BRILLIANT. Hard to believe it is that time of the year again. Your house always looks SOooo Great. This is way for decorating in the future. About to give it a spin for this year and see what happens. Still hot outside here this time of the year. Tonight about 10pm here it has finally "cooled down" to about 91F or about 32.8C. Next Saturday that is about what the expected high will be during the day so the evening should be lot nicer. Will give it a go then. Thanks for posting this video.
@@LumaBox Dry and hot for the most part here. The mosquitos and other flying critters tend to be a real nuisance. Things got delayed and I am finally about to get an enclosure. Will update you when things progress.
This is fantastic! I have wanted to do this for years, but the time investment / learning curve was just too high. This looks much more approachable. My projector is on the way and when it arrives, I will give this a go. Thanks for the amazing tutorial!
I love your way of explaining, your a natural at it. I’m waiting on my projector to be here this Friday and I’ll be buying your program lumamap but all the videos I see you use the outline in the process of adding facade. I want to do the picture method and think I can figure it out watching your tutorial, but then never see how you add a facade from the picture style mapping, can you help?
If you feel drawn to the photo method definitely give that a go first. It can be so much quicker and doesn't hurt to try it and move on to outlines if it isn't clicking for you after all. I personally use the photo method when I'm not making a tutorial but I think people find the outlines more recognisable in the mapping workflow so I use them a lot for demonstrations. And sometimes the photo mapping doesn't work so well for some people, for example if their projector has a lot of lens distortion. When it comes to generating facades, the mapped photo or outlines can be used interchangeably. The generator will accept both and can take the structural information from both - though in each individual case it might work better with one than the other, depending on the building.
Thank you so much for the video! We are really looking forward to more! Show us some dynamic visuals! I’ve just started learning Resolume, could you explain the main differences between LumaMap and Resolume?
LumaMap and Resolume are very different. For one, Resolume is used by professional VJs to display interactive media for live events. It's very powerful. LumaMap is a small tool with a specific aim: to help first-time projection mappers make their first projected facades as quickly and easily as possible. It really depends what stage in the journey you are at and the level of your ambition. Resolume is tough to learn but will take you far. LumaMap will get you started fast. It depends on the user. Hope that helps
One step which would be different is, right at the beginning, when I invert the Outlines and use the Screen blend mode to show the white outlines over the top of my facade. This won't work well if you have a photo guide, so for that I would suggest simply turning the opacity down (I show how to do that with the slider in the Layers panel) so you can see the facade underneath your photo. The rest of the workflow would be the same 👍
In my area Halloween and Christmas is in day light saving meaning my projection mapping will be in board daylight. Do you have any cheap projector picks for this?
Projection can't be done effectively outdoors in broad daylight unfortunately. You'll have to run your show during night hours or enclose an area to exclude light and have a show in there. Daylight will create too much competition
I am having a hard time doing the mapping with photo and outline, I notice in your videos you are using duplicate display but in your instructions you are saying to use extended. I cant get the photo to extend properly or get the outlines to fit my house
Hi. I'm not using duplicate/mirror in my display settings at any point. Have you checked that the canvas resolution definitely matches your projector's resolution? Are you confident that your projector lens is not zoomed?
Hi guys, thanks for this amazing video tutorial. I have a question: how I can delete an image or video on canvas? I tried to delete a video but also short cuts doesn't work. Someone could help me? Thanks ❤
Hi - you actually can't go back to having a completely empty canvas after you've imported some media other than by relaunching the software. You can only replace it with something else. But what you can do is turn off Send to Display so nothing will be sent to your projector, which is practically the same as having nothing in your canvas. Could you let me know why you want to go back to having an empty canvas? If there is a strong use-case for this, it's something I could look into making possible in the software
I would like to project bugs crawling on an object in the missing bricks of a faux brick wall. 5’ away. I’d like it to be stored on a SD card so as not to be tethered to a computer.
Hi, this software doesn't support multiple outputs at once but if you really wanted to, you could do each projector one at a time (each handling their own surfaces) and keep the generation seed the same so the generations are as consistent looks-wise as possible

I hope at least your evenings are dry. My biggest enemy is the rain whenever I get my projector outside 🌧️ 😖

Always amazing tutorials, thanks for sharing. Getting busy again 😅❤
Woo it's getting to that time of year! 😁
Fantastic tool. Very well explained video. I really liked. Watching from Brazil. I subscribed to the channel. congratulations and thank you
You're awesome - thanks 🙏
This looks great, may I ask if this is using any Adobe technology? I no longer wish to be subject to their terms of service.
No, nothing to do with adobe 👍
Great product! Awesome use of AI!

your monthly charges are crazy

Following this process and using an image as a base rather than outlines what would differ in the gimp masking process video?

Can I use a cheaper projector until I decide whether or not I can do projection mapping?

Can I choose several displays at the same time for design and mapping? That is, display output.
Hi - no, it is just one output at a time in the software

@ yeah it’s not zoomed it and it is matching resolution for sure. Is there a support I can call ?
@@Kingmejd No there isn't. I can provide assistance here or via email

@@LumaBox thanks for answer 🙏 I really like the program, I hope to see it growing in the time
After upscaling to canvas the pic shows on the whole canvas and not just inside the lines I drew, why? I followed your steps
This is expected behaviour. I'm looking to add a masking tool, but until then, this tutorial is what you need ua-cam.com/video/-16fnQSt0S8/v-deo.html

That would look cool. I don't sell anything exactly like that but I hope you find it 🕷️
How do you add music or sound effects?
I do that in this video (check out the chapter summaries to see where it mentions audio and sound effects) ua-cam.com/video/5n5kC6IFYlQ/v-deo.html
But how to used this mapping to put videos en there, not just a photo. Somebody can help me?
I have the same question.
Did you see this video? ua-cam.com/video/5n5kC6IFYlQ/v-deo.html
Hi ma'am I can't reach your website....
It should be working, please try again and let me know if you're still having issues

save money on the vinyl and buy a frosted shower curtain to use in your windows.
Yep, a great cheap way to do it 👍
