✅Ingredients
• 2 pounds lean ground beef
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 large white or yellow onion, diced
• 5 cloves minced garlic
• 1 ½ teaspoons chili powder
• ½ teaspoon paprika
• 3 cups beef broth
• 30 ounces canned tomato sauce
• 30 ounces canned diced tomatoes
• 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
• 1 ½ teaspoons salt
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
• 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
✅Instructions
1️⃣ Heat a 6-quart pot over medium-high heat. Add in ground beef and cook until browned, but not cooked through, about 5 minutes. Drain excess grease and return pan to medium-high heat.
2️⃣ Pour in olive oil. Add in onion and saute until onion is soft and translucent and ground beef is cooked through, another 5 to 7 minutes.
3️⃣ Add in garlic, chili powder, and paprika. Let toast 1-2 minutes.
4️⃣ Pour in beef broth, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer over high heat.
5️⃣ Once simmering, reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
6️⃣ Add in elbow noodles. Cook an additional 15 minutes, until pasta is al dente.
7️⃣ Remove pot from the heat. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted. Serve warm.

I was 6'5" and 200 pounds by the time I was 16. My brother is a year younger and slightly smaller. We grew up in the '70's and goulash was one of the few things that filled us up. My mom made it with wagon wheel macaroni. My first taste brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for the memories.
Why did u mention height and weight
@@jettshilling1472 Really? Cuz it took alot to fill us up....
@@davidgabrielsen2139 thank you for sharing you sweet story. My mom and Nan have passed and im an only child. Also just trying to recreate some version of their recipes. Ignore the idiot above lol 😢
This recipe was such a hit, and it fed everyone. Thank you. So easy to make too. Minimal dishes.
American Goulash is one of our family Favorites. I love one pot meals! Thank you for sharing your recipe.
You are so welcome!
The best cooking video presentation I have ever found!!! I really like that you say how much of each ingredient you add to the pot as you do it!! You could give a master class to all others that present cooking videos but NEVER mention the amounts they use for any ingredient! Great job and thank you!!!!!
I think I had goulash like 2-3 times a week when a grew up. It's just such a good simple thing to make
LOVE this. The chili powder really puts this dish over the top. Love your recipes.
Goulash is a very regional thing. My Austria-Hungary ancestors brought it over to America in the 1800s. In Europe, it was potato chunks. It became macaroni in America. We also put sliced green olives in it, but I personally don't like them. Ours has less tomato sauce too. It's more like a stew than a soup. I've found that you can trace people's ancestry based on the way they make goulash. Each Central and Eastern European country historically had their own variation.
Not really. Goulash as 'Gulyás' is authentic in Hungary only, but not any other countries. Each European countries having their own remarkable national dishes but like Gulyás leves or Paprikás csirke (Chicken paprikash) for example couldn't be found in any other nation's kitchen or history. What you've got down correctly that this is a soup originally, not a stew.
My mom would put corn, green beans and peas in her goulash. I think mostly to get rid of stuff that had been hanging around in the cabinet or freezer, but it really adds another dimension of flavor.
I just made it and it turned out amazing, i cooked the onion in oil before putting the beef and added some parsley in it. Next time im going to add carrot too
Thank you! The only goulash I’ve ever had was my grandma’s and it was so good and such a comfort food! But I didn’t know how she made it and haven’t had it in over 25 years. I made your recipe last night for my family and although it didn’t taste like my grandma’s sadly, it was delicious and everyone loved it! I’m still going to search for my grandma’s version because of the memories but I’ll be making your recipe again!
Hope you are doing better. You are in our prayers.
Smoking this right now, I’ll let you know later how it went, hope you feel better😘
This looks delicious!!!

I know my kids are going to love this.❤❤❤❤😋👍
May God bless you 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love food......
I might give these spices a try. I've been doing Italian seasoning, seasoned salt, and black pepper for spices. I got those spices from another YT cooking show.
I’ve never heard of adding cheese to the recipe but I guess it makes sense since I usually add cheese on top when I make a bowl. 2 birds 1 stone
This look so good.
This is my first time seeing chesse in ghoulash
Really good. You sound like a serious pro as well.
This sounds good, love the idea of mixing Italian sausage & ground beef. I'll make my pasta separately though, just a personal preference.

Love it and it's so easy too. Thanks for sharing.
Everyone loved it!!! So easy and delicious! The only hard part was cutting the onions 😭
This look so good 👍
This looks absolutely amazing, but that’s a very different take on the ‘real’ Goulash I know and love from growing up in Europe. Goulash is a Hungarian/ Eastern European stew of cubed beef and paprika, without cheese or pasta, eaten with spätzle, potatoes, or bread (highly recommend looking into that and trying out a more classic/ ‘authentic’ recipe).
That said, this looks great and I will definitely make that some time!
This is more of an American Goalash. Other cooking shows do a similar recipe (they just might change the spices up).
Hungarian Goulash and American Goulash are two distinctly different dishes, both of which are very real. This is an American Goulash which traces its origins back to the early 1900s. What you've described is Hungarian Goulash. But now you know there's a completely different dish out there you've yet to enjoy!
Great job....
I love your videos. Prayers for you and your family
This looks great! I can’t wait to try!

What are the sizes of bowls you used for your prep work? And where can they be purchased?
Such a great recipe! I know consider myself a cook...of 1 dish 🤣
Wow I’ve never tried it with the cheese, maybe I will the next time.
It's so good!
Love those comfort foods. All the best, WildWing.
That consistency is perfect for us so did you use two lb of noodles or three? Thank you I'm very excited I will be making tonight
The max would be 1 pound

I would use butter with the meat and onions then drain it, but to each their own.
Mmmmm,, reminds me of home.
Good video. Thanks for sharing. God bless you and yours in Jesus name.
Looks delicious, definitely making this 😋 👌,thank you for sharing 😊
Can inuse spaghetti sauce instead of tomato sauce?
How many servings does this yield?
can you drain the diced tomatoes ???
Do you think you could freeze the finished product to save for later?
ya worth a try
Yummy
Seems a lot of people didn't know there was a American style goulash. I guess chalk it up to learning experience.
You’re the GOAT
Yum
So hungry now…when’s dinner? 😁
Yummmmy 🍷💐❤️
Oh my that looks so good. I actually put rice inside not pasta. 🔥👌🏽
Your American Goulash comes from the 1930s originally called the HOOVER STEW! It was cheap and fed many people during the great depression. They used bacon instead of ground beef. It was a cheap inexpensive meal that kept people from starvation.
