Amazing stuff Randy 😃👊. What a fantastic experiment to display the toughness between the stock Arrma and M2C output cups. I will definitely be getting these as the final upgrade of M2C parts on my fully M2C modified K6s. I absolutely love M2C parts and a huge shout out to Avery and Mitch for doing such an excellent job on the design and manufacturing of these parts 👏🏼👏🏼. I modified my EXB front bumper to suit the M2C front hinge pins and it’s a “tough as nails” setup now. Great video bud and I always love your content. Great video!! 👏🔥💯👍 I love M2C's parts!! I believe you get the quality that you are paying for. Better materials = higher cost. End of story. High quality parts require precise machining. I like the way you explain in detail in your videos Randy. You go above and beyond with your tests. You do a really great job for your sub's and for ppl just looking up rc how too vids. 👍👍😁

Great video. I've always wanted to see tests on output cups! Kinda content we need on UA-cam. Just FYI, steel is never anodized, only aluminum. This is more likely black oxide coating.
True true… sorta steels version of it, that achieves similar results… and it can definitely be done in a range of qualities, where we know M2C has done the research to do it the best way possible. But yes… your right 👍

Wow there strong 💪 , why do the other ones break is it cause stuff is locking up under pressure of jumping and stuff I don't understand that or is it just a week part for the torche it puts out....
tool steel, in general is quite strong, and very hard. you can pick up a rockwell hardness tester to see how durable they are vs stock parts. tool steel however is prone to breaking with impacts. i've learned quite a bit from machinists in terms of hardness vs strength. it does seem like these are a good balance for the given application
Dude I can't believe how strong those are. I literally just snapped mine where the pin goes through lol I gotta order me some when I get my towers. That's the last thing I need to upgrade well other than the springs. Still haven't got to order those yet.
If you think about all the other attempts the m2c went through before it broke , personally I think it would've took loads more poundage if you managed to break the parts on the first attempt , all them 50lb + slips must of weakand it some bit, I'll be a sub on ya new channel, your information is fantastic
I use the hardened 2.25 from McMaster but only because I happen to have plenty of them. Because the m2c hole is better designed though I would be completely happy using the stock. If I was breaking the pins though (with the M2C cups) I would upgrade to the custom pins
@@dandyer8351 They make the better quality outdrives yes. But I can’t speak to the play in the EXB, I haven’t had issue with the pins yet so I haven’t evaluated it with a critical eye.
The main test compares the cups that came out of my vehicle. Both cups used the exact same amount of time. I only compared a new M2C cup vs a used arrma cup as a pre test in the beginning. (This was the first test you viewed, when I was using the large socket) But ya the main test (where the cups were reading the 50+ foot pounds of torque. Was an apples to apple test between the latest M2C and stock cups, used an identical amount.
Do these help at all with the dog bones popping out? Just got a kraton 6s exb not to long ago. Haven’t had really any issues besides I broke a rear a arm and a stand-off. Went with m2c for both. Fixed all that and redid all my diffs. Now dog bones are falling out all the time. Did get some help on how to fix that but just wondering if these will help at all.
They are a great upgrade, they will help in that they are much more durable and won’t wear down as quickly which in many in sense help prevent those dog bones from popping out. However, there are other things you can do to address the dog bones popping out …watch this video. ua-cam.com/video/Pk9nipG9b7c/v-deo.html Making sure your droop is properly set will help. I’ve also seen some people unscrew the shock rod end and put a small piece of tubing. Maybe 5 mm long on first, then screw back on the shock rod end. This will prevent the shock from bottoming out as deeply, which helps prevent them from popping out as well.
@@EastTactics I did read about the tubing and some mentioned the droop. Also ppl recommended taking off the spacers on the a arms. Do you know if there’s a driveshaft that is slightly longer?
@@davidzizelman2061 Not that I know of, I know M2C dog bones are way better, but I dont think they made them longer for the shafts going from the outdrive cups to the knuckles.
I measured the M2C cup vs the new Kraton EXB V2 cup with a caliper and it appears that the M2C is about 1mm shorter! Definitely a bummer. But, it was from one side to the other, maybe what matter most is the part that sticks out of the diff.
@@EastTacticsI’ve adjusted my droop, and still the dogbone fell out with stock cup. Yesterday I installed rpm arms, removed the washers at the end, installed M2C pillow ball retainers, made sure pillow ball is set correctly, installed m2c shafts and next will be the cups. I probably pushed the shaft About 1mm in when I took out the spacers so I may end up back where I was before. But I think my pillow ball was loose when the dogbone came out and bent a few weeks ago.
@@EastTactics I do agree with the strength though. The cup where the dogbone fell out was chewed up a bit. I dare say I may even lost 1mm of material because it shaved off. So, perhaps you’re right! It’s entirely just the strength of the cup. But, it doesn’t hurt to have some length!
Just for the record... 4140 is an alloy steel, not a "tool steel" per se and you cannot anodize steel, it's finished with paint, powder coat or black oxide finishes.
