I love when a drummer plays the drums like an instrument, and not just a glorified metronome. Brann is not the first to do it, but god damn it does he do it well.
One of the best drummers to ever sit behind a kit.
Well, Lars is the best standing behind the kit...he has that advantage.
He's got the high ground Anakin!
Brann Dailor is a fucking machine. Period.
Megalodon is one of my favourite songs by Mastodon, simply because of the drumming.
This guy proves you dont need a huge double bass kit with 20 toms and 20 cymbals to be good. This guy fucking rocks and Mastodon too, I love that band.
brann dailor is by far my favorite drummer alive.
Dude is insane. Love his originality.
His flow and rolls are incredible.
this guy is fucking insane. i really honestly don't see how anyone can not give the man some respect or props.
I noticed throughout the years of listening to mastodon music and wondering how Brann had such a heavy sound with so much busy shit going on and i noticed that a lot of his power comes straight from the waist. He probably has a really strong waist that helps him drum really heavy. The guy is a monster behind the kit. I’ve always been amazed by how heavy his drum are with all the technical stuff going on.
Brann is a fucking circus drummer, love it! He's also a really cool guy and devotes alot of time to the fans. Got to bullshit with him for like 15 minutes on the Blood Mountain tour.
He's Got The Talent For Sure !
LOVE MASTODON !!!
It's like speed jazz with a distortion pedal... This blows my mind.
i think this is by far Mastodon's best song, and i would struggle to find a drummer as good as this man right here
i may've heard his drumming before, but watching his performance at PASIC just took my breath away. brann dailor's style is so fantastic, and that's why he's one of the many drummers i look up to
I love how his drum set is so small compared to most drummers in metal, yet he still makes such a powerful avalanche of sound.
This is literally beautiful to watch
Man Brann is such a fuckin awesome drummer and musician, one of the best drummers ever in my book and that doesn’t even mention his singing and lyrics. Truly a special talent. Idk how any could not like this man.
Brann is the best drummer out there, no doubt. No drummer even comes CLOSE to his style. it's so original and potent and fun to listen to, unlike some really repetitive drummer styles
such an inspiration to me and i'm a guitar player, soo sick on the drums..
probably the best drummer on the metal scene right now
MAN !!!!
THATS FREAKING AWESOME ..Brann Dailor is like Every Great Drummer in History so Musically and Virtuos , and FUCKING Fast & Powerful .
THATS Metal , the Rest of the Band called MASTODON , Bill Kelliher , Troy Sanders and Brent Hinds are Perfect too , the Best Band in the World and i CAN´t await the next Album (Omg!!)
BEST. DRUMMER. EVER. PERIOD!
Remission features one of my favorite Mastodon songs: March of the Fire Ants.
That song in itself makes that album awesome.
Seriously... holy shit
The reason I love his style is that he's one of the few metal drummers out there that doesn't rely on double bass and linear fills. The guy has some pretty damn good hands!
I think i've commented saying this before, but i'll say it again - his consistency is unbelievable.
You would actually feel safe with your timing if he was in your band.
My favorite drummer... yeah!!! \m/ Love you mastodon (greece)
one of the best drummers
This man is a true inspiration as a drummer. First time I heard him drum was for Today is the Day and was like OMG. He is part of the reason I started drumming. Truely incredible everytime.
BRANN DAILOR IS A DRUMMING GOD!!
i don't think he could be this good a drummer in any other band then mastodon, they compliment each other so well.
I could give a crap less what kind of singles, double, triples, or whatevers he's doing. All I know is the guy has put out quite an impressive body of work at a young age and still has a long career ahead of him. I've seen him play live 3 times, once with TITD, and twice with Mastodon and it was worth every penny.
watching him drum should make anyone want to drum so awesome and fun to watch
@martin mckinnon. I owe Dailor a debt of gratitude for renewing my interest in returning to the kit.
Late to reply but man I wish I was gifted enough to drum well. He makes me want to drum a lot but I was just never remotely musically gifted at all which is a bummer. Brann is a legend tho, one of the best drummers out there and one of the most creative ever in metal. To top it off now he sings a bunch too, he’s just a godly musician in general, absolute blast to listen to his drums on mastodon records and a blast to watch. If you haven’t seen them you should check out the videos meinl has posted the past year of him doing songs like blasteroid and precious stones, they’re awesome vids
I don’t know how he usually manages to also sing while playing like this. Simply fantastic!
Brann's are great. But his writting on this track is my favorite bro. This guy's energy is beyond this world and he makes look so effortless.
the best part about Brann's playing is that he can pull off singing some impressive shit live while playing beats that arent your A-typical rock/metal beat. The best example is the verse to Oblivion
The drumming on Capillarian Crest is sick!
GIVE THIS MAN A FUCKING MEDAL! Hes the best drummer in the world! I fucking love BRANN DAILOR!
Tons of butter on dem rolls!!
Brann the Mann Dailor, buddy rips...
I just noticed he plays along with guitar parts yesterday & made a mental note to see if I can find out if that's addressed. 1st thing I click on he talks about it. Awesome.
definately the greatest drummer i have ever seen! if i played drums he would be my idol! i dont even play drums and hes my idol! anyone else gonna see them in october?
Brann Dailor...The guitarist of drummers.
Fuuuuck thats some good drummin, i always loved this song, great album too.
Brann is a killing beast, imagine mastodons sound with a AC/DC drum lol
my brann hurts..
You need a Crystal Skull to protect your brann..
lol when he says "jam with a bass player" i laughed my ass off
My new hero
never misses a beat... i swear
Its so awesome that on top of these epic drum beats Brann is able to sing which is an incredibly difficult thing to do.One of the best drummers ever in my opinion.
One of my favorites
"I jam with a guitar player"
This speaks to me, as I am a guitar player first and drummer second. Which, explains why I have struggled with certain styles for years, but mastodon just fits my drumming style so much to where the first 2 min of 'the wolf is loose" is a part of my warm up...
This dude is awesome. I first saw Mastodon open for Slayer and the first thing I noticed was Brann's drumming. Since then, he's become one of my favorite players and great fun to listen to.
His rolls are MAGICAL.
Ha! I grew up with Brann! He has not changed! Its so weird.
They say when you get famous your personality freezes in time and never changes
Brilliant!!!
AWESOME!!
yeah, i love brann,
they're good people.
Masterful!
you made it man....lol...good shit...remember rochester ny working at a plus over nite on Scottsville road next to campis...i would come and visit you with that blue hair and platform shoes...we would kick it about music all nite long man...i was doing raves at the time...big light skinned black dude who embraced all forms of music...just found out about u n mastodon lol nice OBLIVION first song i listened to damn! i play it 4x in a row damn
Cool, I was there too, good show. Cheers!
killed it =D
His approach is beautiful and brave. I felt influenced by him just from the first minute
my favorite fucking drummer ever.
Oct 10th for me. Cant wait
i went to that one and i would have to say that they rocked the shit out of that place
i met this guy when they toured with Slayer a couple of years back! really nice guy and funny as fuck!!!
I love his "fuck it, let's do this" mood. 🤣❤
They still sound better than 99% of others.
I can agree with that last statement
I'll be there too!
great drummer.
also to the fact about his hands
his hands are amazing
all the ghost notes and buzz rolls and accents his hands are insane
listen to the hand work on capillarian crest for example
most drummers come nowhere near for craziness
Brann, a metal heads favorite tidal wave of grooves.
this is the most challenging songs on the levianthan album, arguably
He's basically the lead in Mastodon!
com essa Influência monstruosa que ele tem de King Crimson...
não dá pra sair coisa ruim ... não tem jeito...
Esse é o cara !
fuck mate!! his drumming is totally sick, way superiror and powerful!
go anyways, it's worth it, these guys are crazy good live.
I like how he'll just throw fills in random places and they somehow work
MEGALODON. Such a good fucking song.
YES ALL OF MY YES
my favorite drumming of his might just be on seabeast!
whats cool about megaldon is that its a gospel styled drum song wich is AMAZING for what the band is playing to make it sound good
Brann's just fucking insane
i wish they had one of this vids where he played iron tusk, so we can see it up close
to much of a beast
Impressive :o
I'm seeing em May 12th at the 9:30 club in D.C
BEST
DRUMMER/SINGER/BAND MEMBER
EVAR
Brann is my favorite drummer, but if any of you out there get a chance. check out Blake Richardson of Between The Buried and Me!! he's awesome too.
God damn i wanna play like him.
Probably the greatest drummer of this generation.
Nah...
EASILY the greatest drummer of this generation.
Is that Bill playing with Brann? I recognise the les paul.
Amazing drummer, such consistancy with the hits.
yeah his a beast of a drummer saw them at big day out.. crazy. i was like where the hell is pridgen?? new guy fuckin rips
glad someone agrees xD
least we know what we are on about aha unlike other people who are too blind to see brann dailor is godlike on drums
@TheHardcoreArtist Is that the sound of the ride in the beginning of megalodon? lol good shit
I have no doubts that Crack the Skye will be the best album of 2009.
yeah
What happened to the wolf is loose drum cam? Been gone a few years and I sure do miss it
