Is just replacing the knob hard? I've seen people having to drill them out and I don't really fancy that. If it's just a bolt and some prying I'd probably do it.
You can probably get it if fairly easily. The first time I changed, I ended up drilling it out. That know was made of Metall and was glued with something really good. Otherwise they often come off by themselves. If not, drill a pilot hole, then use a slightly bigger screw/bolt, then screwing that in to lift up the knob.

I've tried do this and failed, went to a garage and allowed them to do the mess I wished I hadn't started
