Best snare ever made. It's just so beautiful, sounds amazing.
There’s other snares that will sound better but what’s great about this Ludwig is that it blends in so well with songs. In some ways, it kind of is the perfect snare.
still one the bests ever...thank you Mr Bonham and two songs; Kashmir & Fool in the Rain
The sound of this snare drum is still amazing after all these years!!! Thanks 👍😊 to John Bonham and to the Ludwig company for making up that absolute treasure 😉. I will buy it 😜,period.
One of the best snares ever made, period
EVER.
ever ever ever
No, it is the best
The one
@@RobBeatdownBrown you really are everywwhere aren't you?
I upgraded the throw off to a P-86 and couldn't be happier. Love this snare!
Great in all tunings! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
my favorite Snare Drum!
I have one on the way can’t wait to get it!!!
An amazing snare!
Thats the sound I have been looking for!
Superb sounding snare (3xS)!
This Snare is a monster I love mine incredible Tone and extremely sensitive
Best snare for any genres. This snare has big history. Has big open sound with sustain and breathing. Uses by many drummers on stadiums tours, because this killer drum!
Check Carrie Underwood shows.
Interesting. The LM402 aluminum sound has a way of blending with the music. It’s kind of like a snare that people in the audience don’t really notice but it still important to the songs.
Now THIS is a snare!!!
what a big sounding drum
Mine arrives tomorrow. YES!
nice and improved supra i see they upgraded the hoops nice look's.look like the vintage hoops and the snare not only sounded great but also look great because of the new design hoops. this is how ludwig should have done this long time ago, but the butt plate i wish they raise it at least half an inch higher or three quarter up so when you tighten the bottom head it does not touch the head rims thank's for posting this keep playing
bought mine today. very happy with it. second hand, but awesome sounding none the less.
Sometimes the used ones sound better than the new ones.
Dude this thing sounds incredible how much

De mis tarolas favoritas, tiene un sonido profundo, algún día tendré una de estas.
Claro que si brother….
I think Im gonna throw my snare drum out of the window and go and by this :P
Mine is a accent power tone from 2005.with Greatch style lug’s
Medium tuning
Sounds as good as a Pearl Sensitone. Would recommend.
Love that snare, is the bottom head pretty tight on this VDO?
I always wondered why Ringo used the Jazz Fest instead, mostly.
Don't tune these up high - they want a low tuning but don't sound flappy and sloppy when you do that. The shell does all the work. That's just my taste.
Like what should tunebot settings be at the lugs?
Which one would you recommend…. This one or the LM 400
最高ですね!!
👍‼️👍‼️👍‼️
How do these compare to the vintage Ludwig Supraphonics.
Roy Beckerman hey man, I've played the old vintage cobb shells and they are definitely special but these drums definitely stand up gorgeous tones very easy to get the how the west was won bonham sound out of them, heads I'd recommend emperor x coated batter ambassador hazy snare side even though the emperor is a very thick head it doesn't deaden the drum it's all in the tensioning of the heads, they're wonderful drums everyone should own a supra dude hope this helps!
If you buy this first, you may save a fortune in not needing any more..
No….we all buy more. 😀
I just got mine a few days ago. I like the top head tuned high. Having an issue with the rim shot lug backing out after an hour or so. Anyone have that issue? Love the sound of this snare.
I have that problem too on my lm402 and lm400, just use a lug-lock or tune it up every now and then
Paweł Morrison lug lock fixed the problem. I only needed 1. :)
That's pretty common, especially on a new one. For anyone else reading this, silicone tape on the threads helps if you don't want to use a lug nut.
Happened to me so I returned it and bought a Pearl Sensitone...haven't had any issues and paid less than half the price. My opinion is that if I'm paying $800 for a drum, they should have that figured out - it is a usability issue that I haven't had to deal with on any other drum. My sensitone has gotten comments like "That sounds how a snare should sound in my head" and "that snare sounds incredible" from grammy-winning sound engineers. And for some reason.....I still want to re-purchase a Black Beauty
Any diehard Ludwig users have any opinions on old vs new ludwig( Supraphonics, Supralites, Black Beaties, Acrolites)???
I've had 70s era Supras (LM402s) and new Supras. They're more or less about the same. If you want slightly more ring you can replace the 2.3 mm thick hoops with 1.6mm thick hoops used on the vintage Supras. I've owned several acrolites, a 6.5-in hammered bronze and a 6.5-in black beauty. I realized that I prefer the sound of a LM402. It has a crispy, fat sound that just fits music better to my ear. Hopefully you can try out as many as possible and get whichever sounds best to you.
@@MyDyerMaker absolutely right about the hoops. Also, check out the 6.5 Hammered Acro if you're into big, fat, dry snare tones. I can't recommend that one enough.
The new ones have a gasket under the lugs..if you remove them, you will get a "brighter" sound.
this is really the best, where can I find some to buy

What tuning level does it setting? thanks
Dafuq are you talking about?
Hello, this is really the best, where can I find some to buy
Right here: memphisdrumshop.com/ludwig-14x65-supraphonic-snare-drum-lm402
what SNAPPIER ? 42?
Which shell is this... cob or?
Seamless Aluminum.
what is the different between LM-402K and LM-402T? which one is the legend?
The K means the drum is hammered, and the T means the drum has Tube Lugs. Hammered drums are drier and have less sustain, and tube lugs don't effect the sound.
Por que les quitaron los mufflers de antes si al final todos le ponen moongels o paños ahora ajajajajaajajaja
John Bonham's snare, enough said...
Ian Paice is better tho
@@josteinv.jordet257 BS
@@josteinv.jordet257 Lol, nope.
God I can’t enough of the low tuning
Only the Sonor D ferromanganese snares are as good or even better.
SONOR D505, D506, D508 are better.
Alex Van Halen
Cough cough you know what i mean cough
Meh
No "meh" its the Best snare.
