    The little knife, ones like that my Grandfather ( born 1899] called it a “quill trimmer” . He used goose quills to write with when he did his calligraphy. And used a knife very similar to that one just to trim his quills. He was 98 when he passed

      Second this. I make silver jewellery and this is something to definitely keep in mind. Especially as a lot of people do "home repairs" where they add a clasp off a cheap necklace so they can continue to wear their own one without paying for a precious metal replacement...I may or may not also do this even as a jeweller 🤣

    • @johnro6659
      @johnro6659 2 роки тому +1

      I was going to mention the same thing. Recently one of my fiends aunts passed away and she had tons of jewelry. We did the magnet thing and my friend kept tossing jewelry in the costume jewelry pile even thought it was marked 14K all because the magnet stuck to the clasp. I explained to him the springs in the clasps have to be spring steel because precious metals will not work as springs. I put it all in a baggie and we let the jeweler decide if it was real or not and sure enough everything was what it was marked.

    • @dragonshoardstacker
      @dragonshoardstacker 2 роки тому +1

      @@johnro6659 yes and even the clasp shell is maid of karat gold but just the spring inside of it is spring steel so don't just get rid of the clasp if it's marked just take the spring out and then melt it all and cast yourself something nice for the stack

    If you want to do covert filming with your phone a good way to do it is to go into the accessibility settings in iOS if you have an iPhone and set up the option to make your phone black and white and then after you start filming(make sure it’s not on Timelapse or something you don’t want) bring the brightness all the way down and have a soda or something else you normally want to keep upright. Put it behind the phone so as to cover the screen as much as possible, although in low brightness and black and white it’s almost impossible to see the screen. This way it’s a normal upright position for holding a drink and phone in one hand. Doesn’t look weird and you can basically film pointing the camera straight ahead. You can film everything and not have to point it down.

    Do you consider the costume jewelry at all? I have made a lot of dough selling costume jewelry, of course it depends on the brand and where it was made some costume jewelry can bring in some serious cash. I was recently given a box of supposedly junk jewelry. A majority of it was from costume jewelry companies out of RI where 80% of the costume jewelry manufactured in the US either comes from or came from RI and some of the extinct brands can be worth way more than the .50 cents you grab it up at yard sales. Here in New England you can find tons of it especially in southern Mass and RI. It might be worth while to catch up on what the stuff is worth especially the vintage items you might be missing out of some treasures.

      @@Klesh Glad to hear is Shane. Noticed your latest outing was a while back so I wasn't sure.
      I told Dan Hurd to use the gold trap for a give away since he's in BC Canada. You on the other hand can keep it or, give it away.
      I will make a note to reach out in a month or so.

    Solace I find in you and your video, super-honest compared to the so-called honest people. I am fed up with all the liars that are so honest. In Holland it,s so bad, thanks for posting and for being on the world.

      When I was a little kid I learned that Lying just makes all future events bad. When you're honest, makes all future events bright. Thanks for watching!

    Good move not buying the cards those gold and silver foiled ones are absolutely fake. I'd be skeptical about all of them. There's tells too you can take a flashlight to them if you can see light it's fake real cards have a black insert between the fronts and backs. Also overly glossy cards are red flags as well for future reference

    Some of the trash people put out and try to sell is crazy. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. Most people seem to know what they got. Damn internet lol. Always enjoy your videos.

    Hey klesh how long dose it take to get a package from your store? Order #6064

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  2 роки тому

      We ship same day, everyday (except Sunday and holidays!). usually arrives within a few days to a week. For overseas orders takes significantly longer to go through customs etc.
