The game is definitely attracting more people so I believe Origins is going to be a success. Koei needs to take the attention they have now for the game and sponsor content creators to play the game on stream and market the game more. My other wishes is that I hope they take the template they have for this game and apply it to the next game. Slowly releasing more characters with unique and fresh movesets in each subsequent installments for the series.
The demo is fun, but for me who plays a lot of warriors games it was a somewhat overwhelming experience where even on normal my allies where dying left and right that even Yuan Shao had to join the battle while I was fumbling around trying to figure out the controls, I hope it won't be this brutal and will have a slower start in the full game
I wasn't too excited about the game until I heard from a lot of people it's more challenging than previous games. Dynasty Warriors Origins looks promising so far.
I will never understand how they still have a problem with Clone movesets. Perseus is a clone of Loki, Orochi X is also a clone of Orochi, same weapon, same pose, same normal attack but ALL of their Charge attacks are different (Not just some EX). That's enough to make the players enjoy them as separated characters. It's not like we asked them to make "Unique" weapons like machine gun and drill. Also, I prefer character like Sun Ce, Zhang He, Lu Bu...having their iconic weapons. Origin's Sun Ce using gloves feel off in cutscence, at least it makes more sense than that blade thing we got in DW9.
Dong zhuo having his sabre traded out for bombs between DW5 and the later titles... sits neutrally in my mind - was it a good change, or just a fun one? There's others too... but that was iconic change in my book. Sorry to hear that Sun Ce had his weapons replaced.
It's Dynasty Warriors, you should try it. Also, you're going to find a lot of Japanese exclusive games in this channel, since I love covering them as well.
Warning. Long essay-personal opinion comment First and foremost. Congratulations for everybody who beat Lu Bu in Hard difficulty and enjoy the special endcard The point i saw they optimize Katana Engine and the mechanics, no wonder everybody called it Dynasty WoLong. But still, implemented (some part) Soulsborne (and Toukiden) into musou for whatever sake, they hit it here. Not entirely cooked, but it has the feel. And it feels good. The movement is fluid and dynamic, but attack has the impact. I still remember that DW9 was halfhearted. From what i know, they want to lab run on DW9 but they feared their fans neglected from the change. I mean, the only thing they kept expose is how big the open world is. I feel that Stratagems will be more useful here than previous DW titles. Not only giving buffs, nerfs and support attacks, but actual ability in gameplay. The thing we still guessing is the content itself. What presentation that Koei Tecmo will serve with these kind of gameplay. "which one are they gonna use? DW9 or SW5 home base/Kingdom?", "Are they gonna put any Empires part?", "Are they gonna make previous BGMs into DLC?" (cross your fingers) and etc. I hope the so called-DLC in 8:35 is targeted for "royal fans" (or could i say, simp? Fanboi?) Also, yes. Lack of personal characteristic (i don't know what exactly the term called) is like Koei Tecmo trope (especially Musou genre). It's like they compromised with the quantity of the playable character. That's included fiction characters like Guan Suo and unecessary characters like Xiahouji. It's like they took "variety" to different aspect. Koei Tecmo can make almost half of fictional and unecessary character into unique NPC while still retain their design, if they have guts :))) Nonetheless, i hope Dynasty WoLong Origins can reach decent success and Koei Tecmo could provide a longer support. And with this success, i hope *Capcom* notice it (yes i'm staring at you, Capcom) and _REPLY_ them with new BASARA. I know Itsuno Hideaki departure is a deep blow with his Devil May Cry and BASARA staffs. But i wish they can comeback with a *_BANG BANG BANG_*
I would love to see soulslike (considering DW:O seems to be inspired by souls-like genre with their boss battle system) BASARA as well! They have the flashy combat and in-depth movesets, already they just need to make their boss battles more challenging IMO...
Great video profar, I would love to see them adding more challenging content or a new campaign through dlc instead of dumb colors pallets, also some old modes as free dlc but is just wishful thinking. I really wanna see this game succeed ❤ edit: Also I call the Protagonist Ziluan, sounds cooler imo than Wanderer but I like shujinko too for the memes 😂
I tried the demo and it is quite fun, but not worth $80 imo. I mainly do not want to be stuck in this new Shujinko character model for the entire game, I would like to create my own character. The things that you said about old DLC shady method also scared me alot and this is why I never bought a musou game for the past 10 years, except Samurai Warriors 5 which is free when I bought my ps5 and I did enjoy it but just nothing special. I think I will skip this one or wait for sales, or just wait for Origin Empire to see how things are not locked behind paywall and stuff
I'm happy they are going back and revamping their flagship games. SM5 was awesome but Origins is a perfect step in the right direction and I'm glad we got this instead of a clone of DW8 labeled as 10
Ok, I see now. They'll probably do it (legacy weapons as dlc tonfa & flute for example) I'm even more hopeful now that your only issue is npc clones (i understood it yesterday as the 9 companions only lol) The cloning is going to make it less "fun" (you can predict their moves) but I'd honestly take that as the only side effect over whatever new games bugs/negative aspects are.
I enjoyed the demo, but man do I not like being stuck as Shujinko. I was really hoping that the "Nameless Swordsman" angle that they were pitching was going to be in reference to us being able to create our own protagonists. Probably a minor thing for a lot of people, but I love these games for their expansive rosters, and if I could at least make my swordsman the way that I want them, it would take a bit of sting out of being locked to one protagonist and nine sidekicks.
I agree. But is not possible now since KT is going all-in to this title. If success, the opportunity to make EMPIRES version is likely higher. I mean, new optimized engine and adapted mechanics in established title (with all these big companies treatment) is do or die situation
Great points, and objective takes. I am pleased, but I’m still skeptical. The DLC and price tag for value just doesn’t add up for me until I see more weapons and game modes. A story only game might not cut it for me. Modes for the playable character, free, versus, challenge should be considered but not getting my hopes up.
This game is really solid based on the demo. I havent been interested in the musou games in a while save for Persona 5 Strikers but Origins feels like a much needed refresh for Warriors franchise. Attacks have some weight behind them and it actually feels like im hitting enemies when they connect. The feedback/impact from attacks always felt lacking imo so thats a nice change.
After playing the game demo my main gripe is still that I really dislike the MC, I really hope the XL (or whatever they decide to call it) or Empires version of this game get rid of him and just have you playing as the classic characters.
From what I'm seeing through the demo, you play as a non canon character. My expectations for the game would be that the game was like destiny mode where you start from the lowest class soldier and climb your way up to get the right to participate in key historical battles or even better get to influence historical moments and create hypothetical branch stories through maybe another mode. There are endless possibilities with Koei taking this new direction. Lets just hope like you said in your video that this game is not yet a footstep for another Dynasty Warriors game because we are done with half finished games. Lets just hope they put as much effort into this one as in their cash shops.
I'd say Persona 5 strikers has the best combat from a Koei Tekmo musou, the way it combines the persona elements make for a really fleeflow and in depth battle system I have not tried Sengoku Basara beside the one on the PS3 which was decent, but i do think Dynasty Warriors Origins has some potential to be a darn fun game
If you want to see how much depth Sengoku Basara 4 Sumeragi's combat is, I suggest you watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/xaYkCNBw1R4/v-deo.htmlsi=HajAB3MfKoy2uoiY
As much as I loved basically everything I saw and experienced, I still have some nitpicks and concerns. I’m not a fan of how underwhelming the regular musou attack is. Like you mentioned in the past (on Discord), we could use some more effects, more elements, even. Some special skills/arts can legit deal more damage than a musou attack. Then again, that just encourages me to max out the musou bar to get the NASTIEST musou attack I have ever seen, the war god’s rage musou! Some design choices like young Guan Yu and young Cao Cao. These two were born with full facial hair and you will not convince me otherwise! Although the troops/peons can knock you over and occasionally stagger you, they still pose no threat. I get it though, more troops, less insane ai. God forbid the thought of a thousand Lu Bus heading my direction! I’m pretty sure I saw somewhere (the game’s description, I think?) that they were still talking about realism. I truly hope that sticking to more realistic weapons and designs won’t mean that they’ll be bland or full-on boring. I really hope for Origins to be received very well, as I think it was already confirmed that we will be getting a sequel or something as long as the sales are good.
The game looks great. I played the Demo and already paid off my pre order. I like all the new mechanics and them staying with legacy game play. I like the challenge also. All the new game mechanics are great. Now for my concerns. Please checkout the UA-camr Gate Captain. He has a video up playing as Zhang Fei. With NO TIMER. From start to finish he's playing with Zhang Fei. It's a mod but this is what fans want to play with there favorite characters. Gate Captain video proves it can be done. In my opinion it will be the down fall of the game if Koei doesn't implement playing with your favorite characters. Note I'm not against the Protagonist for store mode. I get it. You can tell a way more fleshed out story with a Protagonist. One u beat the game. Open up all the weapons and characters. Those characters should be available to play. Story mode, Free mode, to be honest no one cares about the mode. They want to play with there favorite characters PERIOD. Koei should know this. I understand cutting the cast. Fans will give Koei the benefit of the doubt. We understand marketing and budgeting. Dont tell me it can't be done. Watch the Gate Captain video. He plays threw the hole stage with Zhang Fei. You know it would be a money grab. We all know. But even if they made them payable threw DLC. I think fans would except it. Again we know marketing, budgeting and investing. If investor's see the game sells well. DLC should expand the story and make all characters playable. This game has the potential to pull that off. One last thing and this is why I didn't buy DW9 fucking clones. I seen a video with Sun Ce without his Tonfa's. Theres certain characters u don't change there weapons. Sun Ce, Zhao Tai, Guan Yu, Taishi Ci and so on. It worked with Zhang Liao and Zhao Yun but those are rare exceptions. Fans as old as me for example DW2. Dont like changing up weapons and clones. They even changed Lu Bu in DW6 even thou it was cool. Lu Bu isn't Lu Bu without his Halbert. The did a great Job giving that weapon to Lu Bu Daughter. No this game has great potential. To put DW back on the map. But Koei needs to learn there certain things u can't cut cost on. Thats playing with favorite characters and taking away iconic characters weapons. They can make up for this with DLC. It can be done. The Gate Captain video proves it's possible to play with your favorite characters. Now well have to go threw the DW9 bull shit of getting that characters iconic weapon. But if they pull it off and make favorite characters playable with there iconic weapons. This game has the potential to put DW back on the map. Even a game of the year contender. Its a good game but it could be a great game. Koei knows what the fans want lets hope the investors give the green light. If the investors are smart they'll give Koei the green light. This game will double in sales if they do those two things. Make characters playable and give them there iconic weapons. Simple no brainer to doubt DW Oregon sales. Both fans and investors will be happy. Thats my take on the game. It has potential
The game not having co-op/MP is a major turn-off for me. Being able to play these games co-op with my buddies back in the day is one of the key things I was looking for in order for me to care about any new entries.
The next dynasty warriors should make it so thousands of ai are actually thinking and fighting each other like bannerlord or the low poly big battle games like rising front. Those games the troops are battling all at once but in dynasty they all just stand there. Even the upcoming kingmakers game will have like 4,000 on screen all at once actually thinking and fighting and actually trying to win the battle. I still enjoy something about the ai being a little simple in dynasty warriors but am ready for them to make them more alive like the other big battle games coming out these days.
i guess Profar made this video before the announcement of the protagonist name. Just let it slip this time Not mention there is a rumor about female protagonist too
Hey Profar! Nice video! I'm enjoying the game and the challenge. I'm with you thr DLC. The outfit costumes on Shujinko are pure laziness. I also hope that they won't do old DLC weapons again. If it's new DLC weapons, then sure why not!
this game is a testing ground for dynasty warriors 10 in terms of new features and combat system but to cut characters having only 9 characters playable and have clone weapons short story till chi bi and asking for full price on retail is absurd for a test dummy game for dynasty warriors 10 is greedy preorder dlc is prove of their greed most likely their gonna have dlc episodes and unique weapons for future dlc .
@@menorasendaiba6404 its like they have to do something dumb so that they can make a profit do less make more kind a deal s***ks for the fans to deal with this b.s.
@@BlueCourville no the main nameless character could weild the weapons that the companion have and the uniqueness is not there the companions weapons some of them are being used by other unique characters and generic officers the only unique weapons here i hope so is lu bus or maybe zhang feis.
My issue is one that koei has a bad problem with doing and thats changing how the story is portrayed. My issue is that theyre going the super general route instead of having us be a secondary to the events that go down like they did in 7 and 8. Imagine if we are just starting out on our journey and joining the allies on the battlefield and we see guan yu drop hua xiong. And if we chose to side with dong zhous side we would have to fend off the heightened morale and the aggressive onslaught of the allied forces. While on the other hand when it happens we are in a 1v1 skirmish with li jue. My issue with the super soldier route is the fact that i feel the story is going to take a backseat for their own personal visions for cutscenes and interactions and the reality is koei tecmo has a shit track record of original works and dialogue and their greatest work is when they are fully tapping into the romance of the three kingdoms. You can see it in the gameplay at hulao gate when fighting dong zhuo. Dude says the new game buzz word that everyones using nowadays. Carrion. Twice. Like he cant think of another way of saying corpse or carcass. I feel like the gameplays been changed hard but how theyve done it theyve killed replayability and the story is going to be hella lackluster. Ill still get it and give it its first playthrough. But the super soldier route also gives me greater fear for the dw empires and if we will even get one.
I wish this game success but after having deep in to Elden Ring, Wukong & ather games I don't get it where is high difficulty. I play it demo on hero & I didn't feel any chalange. I was feel losted in the crowd. I didn't recognize who is My allies & who are enemies. Enemies was just like dummies that didn't try to fight me in engaging fight, they was just running around & wait till I crush them. I will love if they was blocking My attacks, counter My attacks, ruch on Me with small teams or big teams. Not just bosses to be hard to beat but normal warries to, it would be aessome!
Honestly great video explaining all of the games flaws. I'm still going to buy it, but I don't think this game will completely scratch that Dynasty Warrior experience itch I have.
Considering each kingdom has 3 officers that aren’t playable but have unique redesigns (SHU: Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, Yueying. WU: Sun Jian, Sun Ce, Sun Quan. WEI: Cao Cao, Zhenji, Zhang He) it’s reasonable to assume they’ll be sold as dlc with storylines or something. If that ends up being the case I’ll be a little frustrated.
Eh, I spent more time with the demo, and decided that I'm not buying the game. It feels more like a less interesting Wo Long to me than it does a proper Warriors title. Lu Bu even has some of the same attack animations that he has in his first boss fight in Wo Long. Still, I'll be interested in checking out your coverage of it on this channel.
I hate the weapon arts tbh. If you dont use them on an enemy officer it feels like you arent doing anything and the hyper armor is shit. If we can animation cancel our attacks into a dodge or block itd be fine but i found myself getting frustrated being hit cuz the enemey decided he didnt wanna get staggered anymore in the middle of ny attack
😂u r right about dlc i was waiting for kh3 to come its been 10yrs n still not finish n they want us to pay a dlc to continue the story🤔so i stop kh in kh2 💩
Or they can borrow Ninja Gaiden from Team Ninja KT. Sadly Ninja Gaiden 3 : Razor's Edge is already 11 years in limbo rather than DMC. It's kinda rough to use same mechanic from 11 years old action game
@@menorasendaiba6404 wow just imagine right a dmc style dynasty warriors game with the current origins mechanic now no musou game can top that with character designs that mirror the rotk games that would be a legendary musou game.
I don't see why we cant customize our own mc, it would make it even better if they add a online feature. I dont really like this character model, he looks like Michael Jackson.
it feels like Dynasty Warriors Origins is doing a lot to modernize without knowing why. Yeah it's cool how much on-screen stuff it can run without losing framerate or graphics, but it gets crowded to the point of lost visual clarity. The damage balance favors dodge and parry so much the game turns more reactive than proactive, and slowing down the combat flow like that is a lot better for a soulslike than a musou game and...I gotta be honest. A blank-slate amnesiac non-proper MC is *gross* for the more serious story they say they're doing. And no custom MC feels like the devs *indulging themselves* at everyone else expense isekai-ass MC aside, Dynasty Warriors Origins do be making some big strides. I just wish they copied the notes when they also copied the homework
Why can't they just release the normal campaign mode and then add custom or free mode where you play as any character including custom ones? It's good they removed the cringe ahh open world, but why does the game look as bad as Skyrim? Revolutionary for the last decade, but incredibly dated by 2024 standards... If they're bringing back DW4 mechanics, might as well bring back Destiny Mode from DW5 and let us go from Peon to General, or even add empires elements and let us be able to establish our own realms. All in all, 4/10, not impressed. Too little progress and too much focus on milking money out of the player, just gonna keep replaying the DW3-5, the gold standard.
This is not a DW game, this is a elden ring game in a DW template. The good things here is the global map , the cool graphics and a wanderer story that gives kinda sandbox feeling, but not at all since you can't even customize it. The fights itself are just trash, 12351 combos, 1245124 hours to kill oficers, messy, too much going on at the same time and stressful game, not peaceful, joyfull and fun. If I wanted to stress I would play a ranked games like CS or League of Legends. DW 3/4 is still the top of the series by far unfortunately. But not worse than DW9 tho, congratz, lol
The game is definitely attracting more people so I believe Origins is going to be a success. We need to see comeback of extreme attacks in Dynasty Warriors: Origins!
Don't think these type of games will keep players that aren't fans already. DW normally gets stale real quick
I hope they add MULTIPLAYER and CO OP to!
@kenshijin-d3y I understand that but what makes a great company is being able to do both.

2:16 I hope I'm not the reason you're saying this lmao, that one time in your DW5 stream where I mixed up with MK's Shujinko lmao
my assumption is Profar made this video before the male protag name announcement. Well yea just let it slip this time
The game not having co-op/MP is a major turn-off for me.
Protag name is Ziluan too, not just Shujinko
i guess Profar made this video before the announcement of the protagonist name. Just let it slip this time
Not mention there is a rumor about female protagonist too
I know, I just like Shujinko better.
Hey Profar! Nice video! I'm enjoying the game and the challenge. I'm with you thr DLC. The outfit costumes on Shujinko are pure laziness. I also hope that they won't do old DLC weapons again. If it's new DLC weapons, then sure why not!
and what's more funny is they put on special order called *_TREASURE BOX_* edition
@menorasendaiba6404 Honestly, they have been doing treasure box editions for awhile now.
this game is a testing ground for dynasty warriors 10 in terms of new features and combat system but to cut characters having only 9 characters playable and have clone weapons short story till chi bi and asking for full price on retail is absurd for a test dummy game for dynasty warriors 10 is greedy preorder dlc is prove of their greed most likely their gonna have dlc episodes and unique weapons for future dlc .
modern AAA game company behavior, right?
also
no regional price is blatant greedy
@@menorasendaiba6404 its like they have to do something dumb so that they can make a profit do less make more kind a deal s***ks for the fans to deal with this b.s.
How is the game clone tho all 9 characters have unique weapons 🤔?
@@BlueCourville no the main nameless character could weild the weapons that the companion have and the uniqueness is not there the companions weapons some of them are being used by other unique characters and generic officers the only unique weapons here i hope so is lu bus or maybe zhang feis.
Good day comrades.🌊🌄✊🙂🤝
I am happy that dw is back my love for dw is👌
Are you kidding me, of course, the origins are the best style of play in the series
No, I am not kidding.
New profar upload!!! Time to get ubereat 👀👀👀
Dw 4 still has best combat mechanics. It’s simple. Not overdone. It also had parry.
Доброго времени суток товарищи.🌊🌄✊🙂🤝
Eh, I spent more time with the demo, and decided that I'm not buying the game. It feels more like a less interesting Wo Long to me than it does a proper Warriors title. Lu Bu even has some of the same attack animations that he has in his first boss fight in Wo Long. Still, I'll be interested in checking out your coverage of it on this channel.
I hate the weapon arts tbh. If you dont use them on an enemy officer it feels like you arent doing anything and the hyper armor is shit. If we can animation cancel our attacks into a dodge or block itd be fine but i found myself getting frustrated being hit cuz the enemey decided he didnt wanna get staggered anymore in the middle of ny attack
i thought it was okay, but strips too much to create an experience that other games do better
just wish it was multiplayer smh
is it worth $80 tho? eek
Of course, not. 🙃
Fire Demo
😂u r right about dlc i was waiting for kh3 to come its been 10yrs n still not finish n they want us to pay a dlc to continue the story🤔so i stop kh in kh2 💩
devil may cry and basara are top tier action games if only koei could learn from this and implement improve the combat and perfect it.
This is not Wild rift 😞
it feels like Dynasty Warriors Origins is doing a lot to modernize without knowing why. Yeah it's cool how much on-screen stuff it can run without losing framerate or graphics, but it gets crowded to the point of lost visual clarity. The damage balance favors dodge and parry so much the game turns more reactive than proactive, and slowing down the combat flow like that is a lot better for a soulslike than a musou game
and...I gotta be honest. A blank-slate amnesiac non-proper MC is *gross* for the more serious story they say they're doing. And no custom MC feels like the devs *indulging themselves* at everyone else expense
isekai-ass MC aside, Dynasty Warriors Origins do be making some big strides. I just wish they copied the notes when they also copied the homework
This will be the tombstone of the dynasty warrior series.
Nice profile picture.
Origin is not good and not what next DW needs to follow. If it is I feel like DW will die
Im with you
I still play DW3/4 on my pc emulator lol I was about to try the demo but after reading this and seeing gameplay... spot on
