Not only are interest rates super high right now but MSRPs have gotten out of control. Thankfully many of the dealers are finally coming back down to Earth on their pricing below MSRP.

When 10k down and 1k/month for 7 years will barely get you into a basic work truck, something is seriously wrong.
Yes! ☹️
Tbf, nobody is using these for work. These are $90,000 enlargement pills.
Cringe
It's the dang EPA. These manufacturers would love to make light trucks for people but, they can't because the EPA footprint MPG standards.
@@Seanenanigans Sort of. The whole reason giant SUVs and trucks are popular is because there are exceptions in safety and fuel efficiency for large vehicles, which were originally considered work vehicles. The importation of light trucks was also banned as part of the Oil Crisis. The limit is for vehicles less than 25 years old, so people are starting to import kei trucks and such but many are not road legal or are difficult to insure.
So yes, the push towards huge vehicles was originally the result of regulations. But there is also the American idea that a $100k extended cab pickup that can't hold a sheet of plywood makes you a real manly man. There's also the American idea that driving on the freeway is basically Mad Max, nervous drivers buy big vehicles because they anticipate accidents and want to feel protected. Thirdly, minivans got a bad rap in the 90s, even though they're usually more practical than a full-size SUV and even though the full-size SUV is basically for suburban moms, they think it's cooler.
Not only is everything overpriced it's overpriced by 40%
Literally insanity 😝
No it's not. It's collapsed. Didn't you see the clickbait... I mean the title?
At these prices, I will never buy another vehicle brand new again.
The definition of "over priced" is a price so high it isn't purchased. I believe what you are referring to is that you wish it was 40% less expensive. The problem is that you neighbor paid that 40%, making it not overpriced.
Over priced by 300%
Average household in America makes $74,000. These trucks are going $50k +. Yeah normal folks are being priced out by greedy cars company. Let them rust on the lot!!!
average F-150 $66,000 + tax and license, I think by the end of the year the "lot rot" will be going over the auction block. After up to 2 years of sitting on the lot, have the Rodents been munching on the wiring harnesses?
With all the plastic crap, they might not rust.
Homes too
Should get a decent deal if they go to the auction block. If not, they will rot on the lot.
Yes indeed. After payroll taxes and mortgage/rent utilities and insurance, disposable income is becoming rare.
The reason they have 2 miles on them and have 1 owner is because, they don’t have to abide by Toyotas new car pricing because it’s no longer a new car. It’s a used car with 2 miles. So now they can charge whatever they want for it.
That’s exactly what I assumed. So shady. And now it’s already a one owner car with the warranties starting, all for the purpose of making their buy/sell numbers look better and make a few extra grand from higher prices and interest rates off of people who don’t know better.
Does Toyota actually have a pricing policy on new vehicles? I live in Las Vegas and there are all kinds of price add-ons for new vehicles at the local Toyota dealerships.
I would go to Toyota‘s main website for the US. I don’t think they can charge above what Toyota is advertising. However, if they start with add-ons and special packages the sky is the limit
Also, financing on a Used car typically carries higher interest rate than a new car. Consumers get taken to the cleaners twice. Shady practice.
They will try anything to get rid of these over priced trucks. Its only going to get worse.
Seeing these used one owner cars with 2 miles comes off to me as fraud
My thoughts exactly!
It should be. It really should be. But it’s technically not.
That's some low-down crap!! I don't shed a tear when these idiots go belly up.
My opinion is the dealer registered them as "Sold" so they could make their monthly numbers with the manufacturer in order to get the back-end cash payment.
They are listed as used because they can ask more than the MSRP Toyota requires them to accept for new vehicles. It's their way of skirting around the manufacturers rules and is becoming more common. Just need to find the right dealer that lists and sells for MSRP, all 3 of my local dealers do which is nice.
I feel sorry for the young people, they are going to live through some really insane times..
Hopefully things financially speaking don’t get much worse before they start getting better. I don’t know how the “average joe” can get by right now. 😬

A shocking real world example of this is the cost of windowless cargo vans which quietly keep the country working in countless ways. In late 2019 my employer bought me a new 2019 Ford Transit 250. People are done with subsidizing the EV dream.
The word is out...
1. They suck when it's cold.
2. They suck for towing.
3. Range anxiety is a thing (a big reason why hybrids are popular).

5. Charging stations are now getting hit by thieves ripping off the cables for the copper. See #4.
@@wildbikerbill6530 Yes, but EVs will save the planet and universe and the West African mud sucker fish and the Socialist Democratic Party and stuff.
1. Most EV owners fail to preheat their battery before charging in the cold. Pre-conditioning warms up the big battery, allows faster charging and a longer range. Just need to learn how to use the technology.
2.Most people don't tow. So there's a market for tens of millions of EVs. Most pickup truck owners don't even tow.
3. With ranges of 300 to 400 miles, there's no range anxiety, especially when the vehicle is so smart that it tells you hours in advance the cost per kWh for electricity, when and where to charge, how many miles of range and how many stalls are available while also routing you with navigation.
4. True. Superchargers are great. Most people charge at home 351 days or more per year.
5. Also true, but they get fixed.....and most people charge EVs at home. Can be done while most people are sleeping and the grid has excess capacity.
EVs get charged at home using about the same power as a clothes dryer, electric range, water heater, hot tub or heat pump HVAC system.
And, the charging is mostly 2 or 3 times a week for about 2 hours.
Superchargers get used a lot, but most Americans work 50 weeks per year and are commuting with their vehicle. Then they take regional trips near home on the weekends. Perfect for owning an EV.
One of my best friends was murdered during a robbery at an EV charging station in our Target parking lot. The perp shot him in the back😢

Even if I won the lottery I wouldn't pay these prices. 125k for a truck? I couldn't even fathom.
what if you won 2.1 billion......
Wait till December. These $100,000 cars will be at least $30k off. The last 4 years the Manufacturers have been making more per car and sold fewer cars but have made more profit. Those times are over.
I wonder how many Americans can afford a $2000 dollar truck payment. Those 1% ers going to have to purchase 3-4 of those trucks each to take down that inventory.
Exactly, lol. 😂
Just wait 1more yr..... they will be paying you to buy an F250 Im just waiting
They shiuld already be paying people to buy a Ford, there should be no takers when pretty much any competitor on the market makes a better vehicle.
I watched the price of the first Dodge truck at $124,360 at 45 seconds into the video.... and realized my eyes were literally popping in amazement looking at the screen. Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE asking prices for a truck. I live in Cali and just bought a 2015 Porsche Cayenne (zero rust - zero surface rust) with admittedly 140K on it for $15,000. I've researched the Cayenne and apart from a few known issues - the main one being the transfer case, they're a really good car. It looks like no one has ever sat in the rear seat in the one i bought - it's immaculate and drives beautifully. Even if it needed major engine work (the 2015's don't have a history of that) in the next few years, I'm a million times better of than the person that buys that Ram. Wow - crazy prices.
That’s awesome! You bought a good used car and did the research to learn what potential mechanical concerns to look out for. 🙂
4 cyl turbo 4runner wtf??!😮💨
Lol. It stinks that your options are either the 4.0 V6 which is a bulletproof but under powered gas hog in the 2024, or questionable reliable little 4 cylinder turbo in this all new generation.
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208I happily pay the gas for my wife’s 2019 while passing the repair shop every day.
How much cost to manufacture a Wrangler? Basically a tub bolted to a frame.
Hahaha 😂 That’s a great summary and exactly what my experience felt like when I reviewed a 2023 Wrangler Willy’s last year after having not driven a Wrangler for years and then having some experience from all the reviews on my channel. I will say the 392 Wrangler I drove a couple months ago was amazing, but still a very raw/sketchy combo. Thankfully it was full time 4WD because otherwise that thing would not accelerate in even a mildly straight line. 🤪
Mavericks should be $20000 like when they first started to sell them.
Absolutely! Especially when you consider the fact that they’re unibody crossover based and with a pretty simple interior.
i enjoy your rapid fire commentary with vid inserts. would enjoy an interview of people who buy these and what did they actually pay.
Thanks, I’m glad you liked my video, and thank you for watching! It definitely would be interesting to hear their perspective and how they felt about that decision after the fact. 🧐
I'm glad you pronounced Willys correctly.
Thanks, lol. 😂
The greed of these companies blows my mind!!!!
We need to stop paying these prices for the greed to go away.
Nothing is over priced, inflation affects everything. Thats what happens when you print massive amounts of money. But hey at least everyone is safe right?
Nailed it. No one complains about the U.S. Government spending and printing. Crazy. Inflation is THEFT by U.S. Government. THIS is what happens and sheeple only complain about vehicle prices, NOT what the REAL problem is!
Money printer go brrrrr!
1 trillion in interest payments every 100 days. Unsustainable. And the psycopath uniparty is doubling down on stupid. Or you could call them sociopathic overlords of society
Turns out Covid 19 was a Darpa program to get everyone to tax the vaccine. Didnt make us safe either.
When I worked at dealership, if new car dept was like 3-4 cars away from their goal, they would buy them for the used dept and then get $Xxx-$x,xxx bonus for each new car sold that month.
Very insightful! What dealer brand was that, if you don’t mind sharing? I get they want to make easy money, but ethical practices are better in the long run.
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 that was Chevy, Nissan, GMC, Buick. It was usually a manufacturer goal, like 100% of last years Silverado sales, then a bigger bonus at 110%, 120% etc.. at some dealers, we’d sell 25 trucks and get an extra 1,500 a truck. But at 24 trucks, might only get $750 extra per sold.. then the “used” become CPO and get better warranty than new.
Is the house and garage included in those prices?
I sure hope so, lol. 😂
The U.S dollar is on the decline , when people stop buying there going to either go out of business or make these vehicles more affordable
The US dollar has actually increased in value over any currency in the world over the last 3 years......
@@1eyedwilli3But not it’s purchasing power, that has gone down.
@@stuartstuart866purchasing power in USA decreased more than in any other country in the world. Prices in the USA are completely out of control...
@@1eyedwilli3How do you figure? Does your US dollars buys you more groceries, or pay more property taxes, or pay more insurance, today then it did a few years ago?
Best part. "Jeep Willis"....Bro pronounced it like Bruce Willis.
Sorry to do this, but you didn’t give me much choice. And honestly I only know that because I filmed a review video of a 2023 Wrangler Willys last year, lol. Thanks for watching! 😉
Willys (pronounced /ˈwɪlɪs/, "Willis"[2])[5] [1] was a brand name used by Willys-Overland Motors, an American automobile company, founded by John North Willys.
Hockey puck lift is the spacer that looks like a hockey puck that goes above a coil spring, in the rear on that Silverado under the leaf springs is a lift block.
Thanks for the correction! At the start of this video I did add block* to the bottom corner of the screen when I realized what I had said, lol.
Wow that is crazy! Great job young man!
Thanks! I’m glad you appreciate my video. I do them a couple times a month, they’re really fun to make, lol.
Lets thank those 70 dollar an hour auto worker unions for this!!
130k$ for a truck? Lol
Car prices are insane these days. Much less expensive to keep maintaining and repairing my ‘07 Subaru, though it’s getting to the point of a lot of rubber bits needing replacement….
I walked this exact toyota lot with a friend, probably within a few days of you. Couldn't believe what they were asking. That land cruiser did look cool in person. Agreed
That’s awesome!! I’m not sure when I’ll be back again in the future, but I’m excited to see what they do next lol. 😂
That Toyota dealers is shady af
This is just crazy. I bought and had my first new home built in 1993. A nice little cap cod for $64,500. Now, this much for a fricking pickup truck that might last 75,000 miles before something catastrophic breaks. I wish Mazda would being back a truck as their vehicles seem to be priced relatively reasonable with a bit more reliability than most brands.
I’ve reviewed a lot of Mazdas and also agree they’re a well built vehicle. But their most recent pick up truck was actually a rebadged 3rd gen Ford Ranger. Which was in fact surprisingly reliable haha.
WOW those trucks at the start of the video cost more then my parents home when they built it in 1994. You'd think they are luxury sports cars that movie stars would drive to an Awards show just to show off.
Isn’t that crazy!? 🤪
Keep doing this audits, hopefully it will raise awareness for consumers in general.
You got it! I’ll try to do 2-3 a month and in different towns and local-ish cities. The majority of my channel is individual vehicle reviews. But I have A LOT of fun checking out other dealers and finding their bad business practices lol. 😂
No body wants that stuff.
Many people don’t understand that a significant part of those very high new vehicle prices are out-of-sight costs imposed by government mileage efficiency requirements. Those “fines” are in the BILLIONS of dollars and are being imposed on the manufacturers . The manufacturers aren’t blameless for ridiculous pricing. But the federal government is part of the problem….and it’s intentional!
Bingo!
They are forcing us to fund our own collapse.
120K. That used to be a 30 year home loan.
They expect us to pay 2 times what vehicles are actually worth these days and have them built in Mexico where quality goes to die!
Two simple words. Instant Gratification. Our society is plagued by it in all areas. More more more, now now now. Impatience, no thought process to anything, poor decisions left and right day after day. So sad.
It’s not the fact they are so expensive, it’s more so that inflation and worthless dollar are also effecting prices.
MSRPs will have to have an embarrassing rollback in ’25
I mean look at what Teslas doing. The model Y performance is over 10K cheaper than it was 2 years ago, and currently can be financed at .99%. I know everyone’s not a Tesla fan, but other big companies can learn from their business model and ability to reduce prices as they become more efficient.
I have heard that dealers will sellcthe truck internally through sneaky accounting to help manage costs.
I wish i could remember more ofcthe mechanics as it was explained to me.
That sounds like the sketchy stuff Wells Fargo got in trouble for doing a few years ago making a bunch of fake accounts for people, or something like that lol.
Anyone living in the pacific northwest looking for trucks and SUV’s, should go shop out of state and save $$$$!
The used Toyotas are holding value because not many people trust the new engines
That’s for sure. 5th gen 4Runners hold their value better than Gold, lol. 😂
I wonder if the automotive business model of catering only to 17% of the market is still working? The remaining 83% don't matter, since they are priced out regardless of want or need. I guess they ran out of suckers willing to grossly overpay to support the EV development.
How much longer until these Stealerships are bankrupted by floorpan costs for all these vehicles sitting on the lot for over a year?
That’s a great question. I don’t understand how this is sustainable. But it does seem like videos like this are working to help more of the general public become aware of the shadiness and lack of value found in these over priced vehicles.
3 years ago i went to look at chevy silverados on the lot brand new....was asking the rude salesman if he can consider a couple grand off the sticker price...he told "oh...oh no we would rather have them just sit here on lot than lower our price on these trucks" that was Harbor Chevrolet in Long Beach Ca
That’s a shame! Thank you for sharing your unfortunate experience.
The most important thing is hold the line gentlemen. Don’t jump and start buying once the prices get below MSRP. Bring them to their knees and let them dissolve in bankruptcy. Then go to your local credit union and get approved to buy something. Preferably on the used market
Cyber truck is literally the ugliest vehicle ever made. Makes the Pontiac Aztec look like a gem.
