Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video, this was exactly our problem! We had so many things wrong with our cleaner, replaced all the wheels and tires, drive shaft assembly, backup walve, adjusted the pressure. It was frustrating that after all of that, it didn’t work UNTIL we found your video!! Thanks!!
This finally fixed mine! I knew it had to be something simple. I tried cleaning them out from the top by pushing a nail thru it, which helped a little but taking it a part & cleaning it out made all the difference. Thanks again internet stranger!
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I appreciate this video more than you'll ever know. I could not find anything from Polaris about that particular part anywhere so thank you
I appreciate this video! I cleaned using a finishing nail and there were no obstructions. Fairly sure the pressure from the pool pump is too low because I believe there just isn’t enough downward pressure on the Polaris.
Thank you, Thank you, thank you, this was the issue as it was a brand new sweeper and we had just had the pool resurfaced sot there was a lot of small debris in the bottom.
I knew my backup valve wasn't working when my cleaner would end up against the shallow end wall and got stuck. The valve has to occasionally shoot water out to cause the cleaner to back up and change directions. The other way out fails is shooting out water constantly, not allowing water to reach the cleaner. Therefore, it just floats around.

That was it! I was about ready to spend $700 on a new one. Now my wife thinks I'm a genius. Thanks for posting!
Ride that wave. Hubby of the year!
Thanks, Matthew! You just saved us a potentionally expensive service call from the pool guy!
As others have stated....EXACTLY my issue. Quick unclog and back in business. Many thanks from Massachusetts.

Hi, could you help to test a backup valve for 280?
I've replaced a backup valve when it stopped working, but I don't know how to test or repair one.
@@Techsyns hi, Can you help to review a backup valve? I can give you a prototype for free. How can you write you an email?
@@andoraswift1583 Thanks for the offer - I'll pass though.

How do you take it apart?
Phillips head screwdriver is all you need
Throw it away already..get a decent sweep…suction side.

I did better than that. I moved to a new house with no pool 😁
This was informative but painfully to watch....
Water doesn't come out of the float. Bobo.
