    Im a 22 pool brush tech, my boss today put a polaris in my truck and told me to go install it, I did after watching this and the client asked me questions like I’ve been installing for 40 years
    Thanks! Great clear and well spoken video!

    This was a WONDERFUL how-to video! I watched others that were terrible! Also learned about the reasons for cutting, lubricating connections, tip for bag control. Todd, people in Frisco TX are lucky to have you! We started to install by ourselves, which would have been possible except for arthritic knees, back, hands. I forwarded the video link to our pool professional for his review,and he will be here in afew days AFTER we stretch out the hose & tail in the sun.

    I put off for a couple of days installing my new Polaris-39 after reading the instructions. Just knew it would be very frustrating. Cool Pool People hit it out of the park. Perfect!!!
    Making instructional videos shouldn’t be that hard. You make your video and then run it by a few people and see where they get confused. You made my day!!!

    Great video! Thanks so much for posting this how-to. I had to replace the hose(s) to my Polaris 280 and the kit didn’t come with instructions. I followed your tips and it works a lot better now than how the previous homeowners had it. They appear to have done exactly what you stated in your video: they bought it and just threw it in the pool without setting it up like you instructed.

    These were some very good tips! I inherited my polaris when we came to this house and I have brought it to the pool store a few times to tune up and never knew the hose swivel arrows meant towards the cleaner putting that tail ring by the bag was genius too; also positioning the floater by the backup valve. Thank you for this great tutorial!

    Fantastic and simple video with no unnecessary yapping and bullshit like most videos these days. My only question is how do you adjust/set that regulator with the black button that you talked about. And should it face down or up. And how do I know which disc to use. Red or blue. I picked blue. Thank you.

    • @coolpoolpeople8056
      @coolpoolpeople8056  3 роки тому +1

      You're welcome!! So glad it was helpful. We typically orient it downwards, that way the Polaris is less likely to get hung up on it. Also the with the jet facing downwards the water surface doesn't get disturbed, our clients don't like seeing the water squirting out of that pressure relief valve. The perfect adjustment we have found is for it to be slightly finger tight. Too tight and the Polaris will tie itself in knots, too loose and it will roll around the pool really slowly. I recommend the blue disc, I have heard the red disc is for when the Polaris booster pump is on it's last leg.

    New vinyl liner pool owner here, and my builder supplied me with a Polaris 280. I have an L shape pool with the L being a tanning ledge with bench steps going down to the shallow end. When designing my pool my builder told me the Polaris shouldn't reach the steps as it would climb them and degrade the liner corners over time so I would have to manually clean the tanning ledge, and that's all they said. I accepted that, but now they are all done and the return for the booster pump is in the middle of the long side of the pool on the tanning ledge side. So basically the return is only about 8 feet away from the ledge steps so they cut the Polaris hose super short, and it will only cover about 40% to 50% of the pool bottom. It seems to me they did not place the booster pump return in the best place for the design of the pool. I hope all this makes sense without a diagram. So my question is do I really need to be concerned about damage the Polaris can cause to my steps, and am I safe to extend the hose? Right now it cleans so little of the pool I will still have to manually vacuum on a regular basis which makes the whole point of having the cleaner obsolete.

      @coolpoolpeople8056  3 роки тому

      You're welcome!! So glad it was helpful. The tail whip can be adjusted at the base of the tail, there is a silver screw...you can tighten it with a flat head screwdriver, or a pair of pliers. My best advise on the floats is to space them out equally. If the hose start to twist up in loops, then slide a couple of floats together to remove the loop...then after a couple of weeks space them all out equally again.

    Get rid of the original bag if you have a lot of leaves getting into the pool they make a "Superbag" for the 3900 Polaris it will work much better on the 280 they wrap around the hose and they hold twice as much debris. $36 on e-bay.

    • @coolpoolpeople8056
      @coolpoolpeople8056  3 роки тому

      Good advice. We actually recommend the Polaris "Leaf Bag" designed for the 280. It also has double capacity and is made out of a strong mesh, so it wont rip if a stick or twig gets in there.

    My pool guy did just that, he put the hose and polaris straight out of the box and hooked it up. He didn't do any of those things! 🤨

    Why are you putting lube on where the hose goes on the feed pipe and why would you ever pick up the sweep by the hose and throw it in the pool. I cringed watching you do that. Had to stop watching this video.

    Hi, Could you tell me why my 280 keeps stopping and starting up and when I turn it in on there is a little jerk in the hose and then eventually start moving ? Thank you Sir
