Honestly, I really dig this more than the original look, it gives the Prometheans this angelic look while also looking so damn menacing, I'll play this mod on the deck later 😁
That was what they were going for in earlier concept art, I have no idea why they chose the giant grin as the final look since the angelic look fits the whole ancient theme we often associate with the forerunners.
@@revolverswitchBecause the Prometheans are different than the rest of Forerunner tech. Their existence itself was an affront to the Forerunners that got the Didact outcasted from the Forerunner council. They have remnants of their original forms hanging out of their new shapes as well. The Prometheans are s corruption of life, a tormented existence of trapped souls. It is a shame we never get to see the Promethean faction at war with the main Forerunners though. Installation 03 would have been the perfect setting to see Covenant and Prometheans versus Humans and Sentinels, if they'd just had the Composer be on the ring itself
@@Espartanica I agree with your points but I still don't think the big shit eating grins fit that concept. Hell the concept of the prometheans fits right into 40k, perhaps 343 should've found a way to embrace the grim-dark aesthetic and translate it into halo. That is if such a ballsy direction can be even comprehensive enough to pull off lol. Tbf about art direction, the halos themselves are supposed to be the deadliest weapons in the galaxy yet they look more like harmless biomes, perhaps deception is the key ingredient about the forerunners. Yes I definitely wish we got to see the sentinels of installation 03, throw in a benevolent monitor in there too for a good measure of subversion, chosing to side with humanity against what they perceive to be false reclaimers.
Always felt that if the Prometheans were done right they’d be downright terrifying, especially considering their digital horror nature. This mod brings them pretty dang close to that.
Unfortunately there's nothing terrifying about giant enemies that run away from you over and over when you get shot. For all this mod adds, it doesn't do anything to fix that, and even adds enemies that can warp as well, albeit at shorter differences. One of the things that still made them a pain to fight.
One thing that I would like to see is the Promethean weapons change color based off the Promethean warrior state. Librarian controlled ones have blue weapons and armor lights with Didact controlled ones having orange weapons and armor lights
I'm going to be honest, this mannequin-esque look for the knights is cool, but I really personally prefer the original look for the knights. I especially prefer the original look because the knights WEREN'T entirely composed of humans. Most of the knights were composed humans, yes, because the Didact needed to bolster his ranks during the Human-Forerunner War, but the first numbr of Promethean knights were actually the Didact's composed warrior servnts, the Prometheans.
Ok but the Promethean Knight face being just a mannequin face is actually genius.

Gonna be honest, I love what they did with the forerunner spartan armor to turn it into a promethean soldier, it looks so good

That's spooky as hell.
Reminds me of those Greco-Roman statues... 👁👄👁
Ikr!
All I wanted to do was watch a halo mod video before bed man 😬😱
Not the mannequins
Sleep well 🙂
amazing work thank you so much

0:30 Mmm... pancakes... 🤤 🥞
Those Promethean Knights look so much better than whatever the fuck is going on with 343's original design.
