11:40 The reason Akraptor (silver guy) acted that way in the first episode was because he didn't want the girls to get hurt, so he wanted to force them to give up on the test, there is a dialogue in the manhwa where he says this. Unfortunately, this was one of the things that the anime didn't adapt.
'Daddy' Raptor always wanted Miseng to give up on a potentially deadly test. His first act was to peacefully (try to) remove her from a competition, he knew would be cutthroat.
Yeah he only is acting this way now because “the rules” have made it possible to bring teammates with you instead of a more cutthroat test that everyone should be used to by now
That move he used to stop them from moving was the same move he instantly copied from the Ranker called Quant, in Season 1. It’s called ‘Reverse Flow Control’ It looks a lot different but this was how it was originally supposed to look so that’s one thing that they fixed from the first season
Tbh as a manhwa reader, the first time i read this season (years ago) i do feel like you guys. Who tf this people? No way they going to be forced to be with him? I don't care about this characters. Who tf is this yellow hair guy. No way they switch the mc right? After sometimes reading more. NO I DO CARE ABOUT ALL THIS CHARACTERS!!! just TRUST. also, about the 'jaded' Bam. The last scene of season one in manhwa is more sense on why Bam look like this. In Anime, it was presented more positively (how he wants to climb the tower to find the truth). In the manhwa, he's broken. We know Bam is smart, and he understand well what Rachel has done to him without Hwaryun reminds him of it. He just yelling with bloded body of his 'why why why??" and Hwaryun was like "follow me and climb the tower. The answer is there" and Bam just became silent. Also, in one of the last scene in that chapter, it was also shown how Hwaryun also came to Rachel and ask "why did you betray him?" And rachel was like "Because i'm afraid of the night (night is the meaning of Bam's name in korean)". And it left us hanging. Like what? What is dangerous about Bam for her to be like this? What is she so afraid of??? If we saw the current Bam, people wouldn't be so confused cause the switch up is pretty extreme in the anime. Althou i can't explain much to avoid spoiling, but as far how the anime goes. It does meant for the viewers to feel like that. So, i think you guys are on track lol.
ahhhhh as much as i want things to go faster i can understand why things need to move slowly to set up the new characters and new bam properly... i appreciate george's attitude towards the whole thing but i can understand why graham is feeling rather tepid about the new season. i'm glad that TAC is guaranteed to watch through tower of god season 2 so they can let it cook, if they were watching it solo i fear they'd have dropped it around now 😭looking forward to more tower of god videos!!!
One neat thing the episode didn't mention: When Bam 'freezes' people or objects multiple times in this episode, he is using Reverse Shinsu Control, the technique he learns from Quant in Season 1. Also never fear, the politics will come back! What is FUG after? Who is Jahad and how does he rule? I know it doesnt seem so right now, but we're headed to those reveals. We gotta develop the new characters first. Once you know the reveals, you will look upon these early episodes SO differently. Right now, the author is leaning into the mystery of what happened during the timeskip. Because A LOT happened.
I miss you guys giving predictions. What happened? You used to do this for season one. Please predict the next episode. Part of the fun of watching reaction videos is to cheer to correct predictions and make fun of incorrect predictions.
They're so me when I read this chapters😂 We're gonna see s1 characters soon btw, im so hype! Yes everythings gonna be explained especially to what happen to bam, great reactions!
Also....trust me. The old cast is missing...just to make the reunions all the sweeter and more dramatic. The reunions in TOG are some of the peak in fiction. Everything is leading to make the reunion scenes as impactful as possible.
Man if you look at the comments in the webtoon for the early chapters guess what you see? A lot of people asking where Khun and Rak are. These chapters were where the author gets to say 'Hey guys, I know you loved the season 1 cast, but I think you'll get to like these guys too', and I feel it was a mistake to set such a fast pace. The 6 or so chapters this episode covers are quite slow paced, but the anime wants to go through this part quickly, because of this the episode felt kinda rushed to me, whilst also feeling like nothing much happened.
reverse flow control is so broken on the lower floors 😭 nobody can even come close to so much as touching him, let alone fighting him except for rankers of course
In the manhua we get to know the original cast over 70+ chapters (the anime rushed things a bit, but overall the core of the interactions was there), that original cast was full of prodigies (Endorsi, Annak, Khun, Rak, Hatsu and even Shibisu showed their overwhelming talent and appeared as capable allies to the then inexperienced Bam). The new cast by comparison seems more normal (with Wangam being so "Lacking" in the strength department that he feels more of a death weight) but they show how difficult are the test for those regular "regulars" of the tower, they are very sentimental but also fairly grownded which shows a contrast to the now highly competent but emotionaly detached (courtesy of Rachel) Bam/Viole. The original team felt like people who could have carried Bam to the top, but that wouldn't have allowed him to grow by himself. The current cast is full of characters that need help to go up the tower (and that means that Bam would not only need to improve more to compensate for it, but also develop a bond strong enough for him to want to carry them upwards).
What I try to explain is that the current Bam doesn't need strong allies to help him climb a dangerous tower (he is more than strong enough to do it by himself now), but more emotional friends to help him heal from a betrayal done by the person he trusted more than anyone else in the world.
Man if TOG anime can reach Season 7-8, you will miss this fight between Viole/Baam/Yoru VS Love Because currently in the comic, Baam can easily one shot Love if they fight.
Personal take: The animation is very subpar right now. I would not even consider the animation to be "average" by today's standards. And this pacing is breaking my neck lol, I feel like I do not even have time to absorb information before they moved on three scenes down the line
the pacing is... interesting right now. the story needs to move faster so that fans stay watching during this less interesting setup part of the season but at the same time they're cutting some corners (important character lines and moments). it's in a weird spot where watchers wanna see more things from the original roster (just bam now) but also need to spend some time with the less interesting cast of new characters so they can develop any sort of feelings towards them. it's a challenging balancing act of giving enough bam screentime to interest the viewers while also showing off the new characters. all i can really do is let them cook. i also hope the animation gets better overall 🙏
I agree the animation, mainly in this episode looks kinda fan made but I kinda see what they’re doing with the pacing. They’re tryna move forward a lot quicker through these parts since it was very slow in the Manhwa with a lot unnecessary added scenes

18:20 Maybe I don't need to say this, but you don't need to worry, the story will move forward, everything has a reason in this story.

FYI every language has this last letter first letter game...

Great point! We will try to make sure to do that for future episodes! Thanks for the feedback!

Oh no the studio animating tower of God cut many scenes that were important to character growth
The politics will come but it does need set up. Hopefully ep 4 delivers.
What do mean by that in next episode no politics will happen.but something very surprising is going to happen
Dude in this anime the cast gets replaced in every season
Who is ja wangnan and what is his backstory it is completely a mystery.
It’s Wang-nan. Not Wag-nan. Ng sound, not just g.
Hey ja wangnan and bam are not in a city it is a floating ship. But the anime cut this scene from the manhwa

Agreed, I will talk about the animation at some point, but it has not been good so far this season...
