He did this sweep against Erberth Santos at the spyder invitational... so beautiful. I just studied it about 30 minutes ago. then came across your channel and you have this on your page, so I lucked out!! Love your videos and follow you on instagram!!
Love doing this sweep! Also like hooking the lasso foot, then under hooking their leg with the free hand if they try to retreat, bringing the free foot across for a shin to shin x sweep. Always enjoy your channel and insight 🤙🏻
Lepri does something similar that I’ve been using with lots of success when the opponent is in combat base/ one knee up, one knee down. Instead of lasso hook, Lepri just stuffs the grip between the legs. I’ve tried it standing, but it doesn’t work well. This Meregali standing variation with lasso is key to breaking the posture and controlling their post. I’ll have to try this. Thanks for the breakdown! Osss!
Really enjoy your content and your teaching style. I belong to a small gym in Parkersburg WV and was wondering how often you are stateside and where I would be able catch you when you are, meaning seminars of course. Thanks again, Happy Holidays
Hey Jon, what about when you have the lasso but your partner plays really low standing and far away so you cannot even hook the leg with your foot? Fan of your videos and really enjoyed your seminar in Van! Oss
Renato Souza hey buddy you mean like the low squat position, yeah that’s a common problem, I’ll try to share a post about this situation soon it’s really annoying but I have a good solution where you force them to de la riva.
I tried this at tonight!! It is work very well!! But I have one question. When I put my leg into between opponent’s legs, they sit down to prevent sweep. In this case I can’t make a power to sweep.. how should i make a play? Change a position into other guard?
I have this weird fear/ mental block about playing lapel guard. Thanks to your videos, I have gotten quite ok with playing double sleeves, collar and sleeve guards but I was so deathly afraid of letting go and reaching for the lapel. I think I am missing something but I dont know. Maybe setups?
Bunny Azorth I think it’s good to learn to play a bit of every guard, by learning a new guard you won’t forget the stuff you have already learned it’s just an addition. So learn it and at a minimum you will be better at understanding it to pass it later. I would recommend Andris Brunovskis and Keenan for understanding lapel systems, but I will definitely put out some content on it as well.
Wow. My guard is going to be strong after this video.

Sumi gaeshi
Perfect 🇧🇷🇧🇷
The "MURgullie" sweep lol
Calling it Sumi gaeshi from lasso would be less confusing. If you are a purist hikkomi gaeshi
