I was reminded of a classic line from Homer Simpson:
"Nucular ... it's pronounced 'nucular'."
Anyway, if anyone was wondering where the American dude correcting my pronunciation post has gone, he got on here with some badly auto translated Te Reo Māori and tried playing the "But you're the real colonizer" card. It continues to astound me how some dudes will just go full mask off bizarro rage fueled rant because someone said "don't make fun of my accent"
Anyway, As Tangata Tiriti i honour and respect Tangata Whenua and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The last person i need to prove that to is some white American dude called Ben. I rarely block folk on the channel, but this was well earned
His comment made him look like a massive douche canoe, I guess the follow up proved it.
Nucluem is fine, I'd gladly play it again. But i don't think it knocks off Brass, Barrage or Power Grid for me. It's just that little bit too busy for me to really love it. I think both Brass and Barrage, the games people compare it to all the time are more refined and tighter. And in a world where they didn't exist, i could see myself playing Nucleum a lot more. Still, as i say in the video, its way more like Praga Caput Regni than either of those two,
Nucleum became instantly one of my favorite games, but yeah, I can see your point. I like it more than Brass, but I would not compare those two. I like Barrage a lot, but do not get many opportunities to play, because many of my friends do not like how much you can be screwed in that game. And Power Grid is just genius bidding game, one of my two favorites. So for me Nucleum joins the ranks of great games, but does not replace them. And you are correct, that setup and busywork is strong in this one.
The comparison to Praga immediately made me think, "Ah, yes, radioactive eggs."
It does sound like a neat game, will give it a shot if it appears at my local game café.
Feels like a plot from a Teenage mutant ninja turtles episode. Having to take the radioactive Eggs through the sewers to reinforce a bridge. Very weird, lol

What about this game feels unique to you?
Probably the use of multi-action tiles, both as actions you place above your board, and then onto the track. It's a very involved and deep action selection system as a result as any actions you place are lost.
