@@blakwngbrd Awesome. As someone that loves Wavelength, this looks like a perfect small-box version that has just enough of a wrinkle to make having both in a collection a great idea! Feel like it could benefit from having a second sheet of prompts though!

For the sake of efficiency I'm going to start storing all my board game components "loose". Who needs boxes anyway, let it all hang out on the shelf, exposed and free as nature intended.
If I did that with my copy of Eldritch Horror + expansions, I'd be finding lost bits of that game for the next 60 years like the glitter I spilled in the second grade.
Absolutely in no way a remixed "top five small box games" list video with a slapped on theme to justify it I can't see what could possibly have given anyone that impression.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who very carefully arranges my shelfs not alphabetically or by genre, and not randomly, but by where the boxes best fit
Neither Gloomhaven nor Frosthaven play ball with Kallax whatsoever. They've basically got a cubby each (though Gloomhaven has a file organiser for the map tiles that lives with it). Both are just a little too big to really share space with any other full-sized board game box. You'd get little ones in with Gloomhaven (sans file organiser), but you'd struggle with all but the dinkiest of small box game alongside Frosthaven.
SMH. I would have expected more from my husband’s favorite UA-camr. You detail out the gaps in the beginning so well, getting my hopes up for some OCD satisfying gap filling action. But then your video devolved into an actual game review. Where’s the before and afters of the box fittings? The zoomed out pictures of the perfectly filled gaps! The slow mo shots of boxes sliding in and out of perfectly fitting holes in your shelf? Don’t even get me started on the tragedy that was your Spectral fitting!! Expectation: that feeling of satisfaction when you eliminate four rows with a perfectly timed Tetris straight piece Reality: chaos and frustration
Watching you stuff unboxed components into the crevices of your shelves was simultaneously one of the most horrifying and most fantastic things I've seen in a video in a long time.
"The kind of humor we're into isn't really wacky or winking to the camera. It skews somewhat dry and absurdist. Now excuse me while I take sip from this Omega Mart glass."

I'm currently in the process with my manufacturer of determining the size/shape of the box for my upcoming board game and watching you puzzle through fitting things on your shelves was a well timed treat! 😅🥰📦
Two picks: Morels: 2 player mushroom romp through the forest featuring sick shrooms and pointy sticks. Fox in the forest (Duet): basically Sky Team with a cleaner set of mechanics and cards
I loved the subtle dig at himself Tom made by putting 'entertaining and informative board game reviews' at 90 in his hypothetical game of Ito then later placing 'Dice Tower reviews' at 75. He could have made a petty jab at DT but the self effacing bit has more class and humour to it.
I want to love Sky Team so much. Yet I know I can't buy it because my wife has a paralyzing fear of flight, and only manages to fly if she is mentally holding the plane up in the sky the entire trip. This game would cripple that for her.
I've been really wanting to try Ito for a while, and now I have to add Dro Polter to that list! For people interested in Ito, I very highly recommend Eye My Favorite Things btw. It's the same idea as a trick taking game and is easily the best conversation starter I've ever played.
"Top 10" is a more streamlined version of ito from the sound of it. or more partyfied? Only have cards from 1 to 10, prompts are a bit longer and wordier, but it works perfectly. And its in stock. Here in germany at least.
That Lords of Vegas briefcase. ❤You don't even need to talk about it. It will never fit in your Kallax. It will just sit there, saying "Take me down and start an mean, unseemly takeover war with your best friend."
I have no problem cannibalizing board game boxes to repackage games into tighter fitting boxes in order to maximize shelf space. I just cut the title off and glue it to the new box. It was painful at first. But now I’m looking at over 125 games on one shelf, and I’m pretty proud of that. And I still have space for more mwah ha ha ha. It just wouldnt be possible otherwise.
I wish all game reviews/summaries including box size and also approximate tabletop size (that you need to play, especially if there is a board). The latter should also be on the side of the box, along with player counts, age range and duration.
The friend I play it with and I have the same problem. I say 0, 1, 2 removing the end of turn 1 space move cause it's inevitable. He says 1, 2, 3 cause it's inevitable
17:54 - imo, your "good oink games" set is missing insider and maybe also maskmen? i haven't decided how i feel about maskmen yet. i've only played a partial game so far and it was interesting, but half the round was spent correcting everyone about how they could play various wrestlers, so...
Ito sounds extremely similiar to Top ten but with more cards representing range. (which could be both good and bad I am a little split on that) Still it might be good alternative for people who are interested in it as it is hard to find.
I can confirm that we (Arcane Wonders) are bringing ito to English markets later this year!
Which one?
@@KMReviews the regular ito for now. Maybe rainbow in the future? Depends on how the first one does for us 🙂

Awesome! Is there somewhere to keep tabs on when that's going to happen? :D
Looks super fun, looking forward to it! 😉

Mom, Tom is Arcs-teasing again!
For the sake of efficiency I'm going to start storing all my board game components "loose". Who needs boxes anyway, let it all hang out on the shelf, exposed and free as nature intended.
Free range board gaming, no boxes, no confinement. Just meeples being free as some god intented them to be!
Dropolter is a game where people are like "ya I guess we can try that", then hours later they are insisting on just one more round.
And then you wrap up the game day by washing the components.
same with Tinderblox
Glad to know I'm not the only one who very carefully arranges my shelfs not alphabetically or by genre, and not randomly, but by where the boxes best fit

"Probably... a Dice Tower review, maybe!" 😂
I loved his little giggle afterwards
Lovely little dig
What a burn, especially since Tom Vasel is on the record that he would save these guys in the apocalypse. 🤣

or at least a before and after of the fridge 😅
You went into a Tom hosted SUSD video NOT expecting chaos??
The loose storage of big top is triggering my anxiety
actively yelling 'what are you doing you madman' at the screen
It was so painful.
Relatable. My face melted like an Indiana Jones villain.
I hate it. Someone call the Society for the Prevenetion of Cruelty to Boars Games and delete Tom's BGG account
I'm preparing the tar and feathers.

Tom now outsourcing table shots to hand/arm model!

That feeling of dread/excitement you get when you go into a list video knowing ypu own NONE of the boxes in the thumbnail
Dropolter is one of my most played and loved partygames! Great filler and so much fun, with cheers and laughing!
Highly recommended!
Love the gremlin look after “dice tower review” 19:55
I'm currently in the process with my manufacturer of determining the size/shape of the box for my upcoming board game and watching you puzzle through fitting things on your shelves was a well timed treat! 😅🥰📦
Some of my favourite small box games: Armadöra, Bandido, The Builders (Middle Ages & Antiquity), Codex Naturalis, Codinca, Cross Clues, Deep Sea Adventure, Dungeon Mayhem (+Baldur's Gate Exp.), Hanabi, HIve Pocket, Jaipur, K3, Kivi, Linwood, LOTS, Martian Dice, Parade, Piou Piou, Qwirkle Travel Ed., Qwixx, Railroad Ink, Saboteur, Silver & Gold, Similo, Splendor Duel, Zombie Dice...
Thank you for sorting those games in alphabetical order
Great review Tom! FYI on sky team. It's 0,1,2 spaces on the engine. Freaking great game :)
Tom bringing a new twist of getting food in the board games that has made SUSD board game review mavericks- by putting games into his food holders
That Guile's Theme is a perfect ending track.
SUSD *posts*
My bank account: "I'm tired boss"
As if there were gaps in my kallax. I'll have to buy another kallax to have gaps to fill with these games!
Two picks:
Morels: 2 player mushroom romp through the forest featuring sick shrooms and pointy sticks.
Fox in the forest (Duet): basically Sky Team with a cleaner set of mechanics and cards
Omg it's Arcs
He flexing
Aaaaaaaarcs
Proper flex that!!!!

With this sneak peak of your collection I'd love to see an update of it from the last 2 years one!
Deep Sea Adventure is definitely my favorite small box game. So much game in such a tiny box.
NO
THE CUDDLE ROOM RETURNS
AFTER ALL THESE YEARS
DEAR GOD I DIDNT NEED TO BE REMINDED.
that arcs tease is mean
That Big Top shelf-placement. Bravo. Bravo.
Nonchalant showing his Arcs. I really like a video. Can't wait for the delivery.
Sky Team sounds really fun!
SUSD's overview got a few minor details wrong, but yeah, Sky Team is excellent. A great "couple's co-op", to put it one way.
Perfect shelves fit! ✈ Thanks for choosing Scorpion Masqué Airlines ! 🦂
Guile's theme, if it goes with a board game review, then, you might just say...
... it goes with everything
Went straight out and bought Dro Polter. Looks great.
These seem really fun :D and certainly good gap-fillers xD thank you for sharing
The mind deserves a spot on this list, it,s a very small box and super fun to play
Can someone make a gif of the "moment your friend realizes you have a lot of board games" please?
I want to love Sky Team so much. Yet I know I can't buy it because my wife has a paralyzing fear of flight, and only manages to fly if she is mentally holding the plane up in the sky the entire trip. This game would cripple that for her.
Bonus points for your delicious jar of Laoganma
TY for this! The family's been looking for some smaller, faster games to complement behemoths like Betrayal and Caverna.
Arcs on the shelf... Stop making people jealous! :D
You really gotta add Durian to the stack of cannonically good Oink games.
4:03 THAT WAS AN ACTION BUTTON REFERENCE OH MY GOD YES
Talking about Arcs when?
1:02 "I guess I can keep this thing around." -Tom

Ito looks like a mixture of Wavelength and The Mind. Looking forward to the reprint

Whose arms Tom? Whose arms? Amazing tattoos!
That Lords of Vegas briefcase. ❤You don't even need to talk about it. It will never fit in your Kallax. It will just sit there, saying "Take me down and start an mean, unseemly takeover war with your best friend."
10:55 SIXTEEN METRES BY TWENTY EIGHT METRES. That's a Big Top indeed.

The only thing that I just learned is that I have been using my fridge wrong for years. I guess the game recommendations were helpful as well...
I, too, love the taste of Lao Gan Ma! 😂
Nice to see a new video from my fav Tom 😊
I thought the Spectral shelfing was amazing until I hear "2 by 1 oinks". I almost woke up my kids because I laughed so hard
Tom! Omega-Mart!?!? We got the same glass!
I hope you stood up to the corporation.
I love it and I love this video!❤🎉
Retry T-shirt!!!! Yay!!! ✌️😊❤️
for 4:10 it's 0, 1 or 2 spaces, not 1, 2, 3
Oop! Got that wrong in the video, but we definitely played it correctly! I remember being TOO LATE one time! Nightmare.
The friend I play it with and I have the same problem. I say 0, 1, 2 removing the end of turn 1 space move cause it's inevitable. He says 1, 2, 3 cause it's inevitable
Are we not going to talk about Shark & Bus just sitting their flexing your impeccable taste 💪😤🔥🚌🦈
4:20 omg YUL mentioned
Every time you guys take a jab at the dice tower it kills me 🤣🤣
The "You lose" noise is the shotgun from Doom, right? I can't believe how burned into my conciousness that is!
4:10 In Sky Team you don't move 1, 2 or 3 spaces but 0, 1 or 2. And you move on the approach track, not the altitude. Did you read the rules 😅
Love the finchy shirt. Too the fools
Michael.
I really appreciate the Omegamart Water glass.. Very good also sky team is great
Use of the doom shotgun sound for sky team doomed attempts. Perfect.
Been waiting on my copy of spectral for a while! Still haven’t got it yet!
love the doom 1 shotgun sound effects
Small box game? Pax Renaissance 1st ed.
I appreciate the Doom shotgun sounds :)
That Doom sound effect somehow got a chuckle every damned time
But, but, but... how does Through the Desert FIT IN THE KALLAX !!!???
Nice monstera funny man
People need to check out Colt Super Express!! Its easily the best pub game
Heresy! Where is Insider in the conically good oink games!?!?!
A trick to fit small games with lots of games in your Kallax is to insert individual cards between other boxes, they fill the gaps really nicely.
I can appreciate a good Wilhelm scream
People see me in my true little goblin form when they see the living room table half covered by the ongoing sleeping gods campaign.
Greeta’s chutney good choice sir!
And Bonne Maman! So much for the cost of living crisis.
I love the Omega Mart glass. What a wonderful experience!
Putting the cards in the refrigerator to set…next to something with pectin 😎
Amazing video!! Love the picks!!
Dro Polter sounds like a blast!
Oy, Insider is a good Oink game too!

I really like Troika, people sleep on it.
"It's not the second coming of Christ", hahahahaha you made me laugh.
intro hits close to home XD

I think Avant Carde is my current favorite small box game. It just came out and I'm addicted! Think if uno was a deck builder.
How did you know I watch your videos while washing the dishes?! 😊
Just imagine what the pieces feel like on a convention demo copy of Dro Polter. Go on, I dare you.
I thought worrying about bad gaps in the shelf was part of my personal mental illness.
What kind of monster even THINKS of storing game parts loosely, out of the box?!
Would love to see a review of All-Plays games in the vein of the oink games turbo review!
