Excellent idea about Christmas. I have 5 kids and have been stressing over Christmas planning/gifts/etc. I hate spending so much time and money preparing and then it's all over in 10 minutes on Christmas morning. It actually makes me want to completely skip the entire holiday.

I wear the blunder cover in 2.25 as well. It took me a while to figure out how to apply it well. I spray a face mist directly into the pot, swirl my brush, and apply it that way. Works a treat! Your videos bring me so much joy!

About christmas: I have an almost 7 and an 8 year old. About 5 years ago we moved away from family and we had to kind of start our own traditions. We settled on the saying “something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read as gifts from us and then an “experience” from us. And then we do one “Santa gift”. (I Have an incredibly literal no magic exists 8 year old and a 7 year old who believes with ever fiber of his being in any and all magic). We open the Santa gift on Christmas but everything else and all the gifts people in our lives mail or drop off we spread out throughout the week.
My husband almost always either works day or night shift on Christmas so an has for over a decade so it’s been weirdly nice never setting up that expectation of one day to celebrate.
We do birthdays the same way. 3-4 day spread. One day celebrating with a handful of chosen friends, one experience gift and then one day to celebrate with just our family. And spread any gifts that come in the mail out and set up Skype dates with family/friends so they can watch the kids open and talk with them.
For a while I kind of felt bad that my kiddos had to adjust their celebrations based on adult work life… but now I’ve grown to love and appreciate the spread out celebrating and teaching our children that it’s not all wrapped up in a single day and to be flexible.

Catching up with your videos. For decades now I've referred to myself as a "whimsical nihilist". It's how I cope with the constant undercurrent of bleakness. I'm pretty sure as I grow old I'll morph into something more witchy and adopt some sort of worldview that allows me to at least half believe I'll rejoin my loved ones in the afterlife. Because heck why not.

I am a sock connesuer and can confirm bombas socks are amazing. I never considered my privilage being married to a poweful Virgo. My favorite MAC eyeshadow was Club. My first duochrome and was an excellent one and done.
Im not sure about there being a limited number of different shifts ... Clionadh stained glass collection has a very wide range of multichromes with one that even shifts a full rainbow I believe. But it's definitely true that most companies stick to green/purple, pink/ orange, purple /blue etc. I'd love your opinion on Clionadh multichromes or even a video on the best/ easiest to use multichromes.
I guess my point is you can match them up across formulas and treat them as a tonal look. Multichromes can be intimidating and I'm trying to make them easier to understand.

The word “aesthetic” just takes me back to Tumblr when it was really awesome and I don’t think Gen Z ever lived there at that time. I feel like all of the platforms are trying to be what Tumblr was (except now apparently it has to be all videos instead of photos)…I think I started using Pinterest as my Tumblr replacement.

I do the same thing with gifts. I save them and give it to them over the course over a few weeks. You can only get away with that for so long. When they get to an age that they understand that everyone gave them a gift then they wonder where they all went. They get way to many things all at once and then bother you to open all the stuff and put everything together.

I think when someone mentioned travel makeup they might be referring to what you would take in a carryon bag constraining you to the 3-1-1 liquids rule. I am going to a wedding in two weeks and am only bringing a carry on. It's definitely going to be a challenge for what makeup and skincare to bring.

Thank you for teaching me a new term: "default christian" (everyone in my family). Growing up (and still stuck) in the bible belt, christianity was shoved up my butt. And I hate posers, go to church on Sundays, curse on Mondays type... I think it's fine to be religious if you don't treat people who aren't badly and bombard people with it. I've realized all religions are very cult-like and hateful though. In christianity Job was a big one that made me see that as well... it's all like "worship me or f off" and I hate it to death. I'm very disgusted by the fact baptist christianity says the unbaptized (including babies and other innocent people) and people born before the age of christ go straight to hell when they die. Disgusting... there's a lot more sick things in the bible but that was unbelievable. Like Barney Greenway's (Napalm Death) tattoo says: "religion? No thanks". I'm quite a bit of a nihilist as well.

I'm sorry to be the party pooper but I find it incredibly tone-deaf as a woman in your situation to tell people to not "take life so seriously" when kids are being bombed at playgrounds while you share your latest luxury acquisitions. I know I shouldn't expect anything deeper when watching make-up videos but it's not very consistent when you dive into other less superficial topics like bashing other people's religions. I'm sorry you seem to have had a negative experience at church or something but I'm a little put off by the life lessons you draw from it.
