    It's kind of Ironic how they bash the headset because it feels like it will fall apart in their hands but they are actually twisting it like no other headset would be able to without breaking and it's just fine LOL!
    I'd say although what they went for material wise doesn't feel like it's good quality, It's not falling apart anytime soon

    As someone who uses a redragon kala for 3 years I can say the otemu blue switches hold on quite well , 0 problems with mine

  • @Jorozzzzz
    @Jorozzzzz 5 років тому +2

    The switches on the Redragon mechanical keyboards are the "Otemu" brand. I have two mechnical Redragon keyboards and I do not like their brown switches too much, the cherry mx brown is a bit better and smoother but this is subjective. The red Otemu switches however are better than their Cherry equivalent in my opinion they are much smoother than the Cherry red. However the biggest plus for me is that they have those DYI keyboards with removable switches and if you are searching for that kind of keyboard where you can just swap your switch if something goes wrong or if you just wanna try something different then this is a very good product. Actually the removing of switches works perfectly - you should have this little metal tool (you can see it on the pic 7:56) in the box for this purpose, it will not work with your fingers only.
    The only other keyboard that can do this is the Glorious GMMK but it is almost double the price.

    • @johnbuscher
      @johnbuscher 5 років тому

      The problem with the Outemu DIY is they don't take normal swappable keys from Cherry, Gateron, etc, if I remember right. There's a few other customizable boards like the Massdrop CTRL and ALT and some other custom boards like the Ergodox.

    • @Jorozzzzz
      @Jorozzzzz 5 років тому

      @@johnbuscher Yea, that is true. You cant put any other switch brand than Outemu which is a bit of a downer for me at least. However since then I found a new Keyboard with hotswappable switches on Aliexpress its called HexGears GK705 and that one takes all main brands of switches (it comes with kalih box by default) and it cotst only about 35$ (the only negative is the slow delivery and kinda high shipping cost ~20$).

    I bought a Redragon Devarajas (RGB) as a replacement keyboard a year and a half ago while I was saving up to get something better. I was surprised when I got it, the build is so heavily engineered (basically everything is aluminum besides the keys.) so I decided to not buy anything to see how long it would last. Has been great so far and not one issue. They also comes with multiple key and even switch replacements.
    I read in passing that the people that make Redragon keyboards used to design switches for razer keyboards, they might not be as good as them but for the price they have hit the nail on the head in my opinion.

    That keyboard is fine. I bought it a year ago on sale for 27$ on Amazon. I upgraded since. The blue keys drove my wife crazy. I switched to brown also from red dragon and I love it. The quality difference is steep from 30 to 50 dollars. The new one is aluminum rgb, less key wobble and is a joy to type on. I'd say splurge on the 50 dollar k556 rgb

    I bought that Red dragon Key board for my nephew setting a PC up for him. It's not bad, but it is clicky and feels a little weird coming from my Corsair Strafe MX Silent and I have to say I like the feel and the lack of clickiness of the blue type switches. I like the feel of mechanical, but not the loud clicky ones.

    My son has the Harpe keyboard and the Centrophorus mouse... both working fine, though I would prefer the mechanical keyboard (I normally use a Code keyboard with Cherry clear switches). I use the mouse pad at work... works fine. And I'm currently using their Titanoboa mouse at home, though I'll probably switch to a Corsair sometime soon. Anyway it's working fine after 18 months or so.
    The headset looks insubstantial, but I didn't see it fall apart...actually I would have liked to see if it still worked after some more twisting and abuse. I would only call it 'low build quality' if it did fall apart or stopped working. Until that point, it's just 'budget' to me.
    Overall, for the money, I think Redragon provides decent value.

    i wouldn't say they are fake cherrys..they are just either outemu brand or gateron brand.. i think outemu.. and a lot of the cherry switches dont actually fit in the pcb if you hto swap.. they look lik they have the same pins but they are a bit different..but you CAN pull the switches and put in red or brown outemus.. i almost bought this keyboard for that reasons only.. but then i saw you can also have hot swapping on the e-element z88 tkly or 60%.. but i ended up buying a Fnatic Mini Streak TKL RGB with cherry browns in it and love it.. the lighting is perfect and AMAZING build quality..although it was 90 USD on sale form 100USD so a bit pricey considering all the budget boards out now.

    I've got two of them, one of them the red dragon. I didn't stick with it because it was a noisy blue switch which was WAY too noisy. 2/3 of the noise it the stupid key tops slapping down. Even with rubber rings to stop that, the clicks were two loud. So I switched to brown switches. Still too loud. Put on rings. Still kinda loud. Put grease on the switches. Now it's silent. Mine were all RGB.

    been using the rainbow version of the k552 for a while now over 1k hours in overwatch alone with it and it just keeps chugging along. had to take the keys off and give it a good cleaning to prevent sticky switches. They use Gateron Blue switches that imo are actually just as good as their cherry counterpart. HIGHLY underrated keyboard.

    I've had/have 3 of these keyboards and have to say it's the best thing going for an inexpensive mechanical keyboard. Many employers balk heavily at a request for a > $100 mechanical keyboard (the horrible Dell keyboard they gave you should be fine right??), but generally go along with a $35 one. Just be sure your co-workers are ok with the clicky, clicky.. (which I love the feel of). I also have a >$100 legit MX-Brown keyboard and don't find it any more pleasing to use than the cheaper knock-off-blue Redragon (though it's quieter of course). I think you guys are being too harsh on this combo, sure you don't save as much, but if the other bundle didn't exist would your conclusion be the same?? I doubt it. $60 for a full peripheral setup like this is pretty cheap. Oh, and spend more time actually using the equipment instead of abusing it maybe?? FWIW, I've never had a single failure with any of these keyboards, whereas I'd go through one or two Microsoft keyboards a year (as a programmer).
