You're most welcome. The only thing better than being able to watch your video, would have been if I had been there and had been able to catch some to bring back home with me to eat! I've always liked to crab with a handline like that. It was exciting to see the size of the crabs y'all caught.

Biggest blues I've seen in ages. I first crabbed in Maryland where ANY female crab was NOT a keeper. So, no matter where I crab, I always toss back any female blue crabs I catch. Unexpected rules are why I always have the latest rulebook. Texas is not a state that forbids all females from being kept. The internet is full of people that think they know everything, but really don't, that will be rude at best.
I love eating crabs but have only crabbed on the East Coast. I live in North Texas but now have a huge desire to visit the Texas Coast. Loved your video, Thanks for sharing.

This is our family’s honey hole for over 30 years we have been crabbing there. The big ones are very smart and hard to catch. The big ones are very smart. They didn’t get that big if they weren’t. They will let go of the chicken if they see or since somethings up. I guess you could say we have over 30 years of experience.. Thank you again.

I’ve never crabbed before at all!!! You inspired me to give it a try and we just went out and caught some just like you showed us! Brought them home and boiled them like crawfish or shrimp in seasoning. They tasted great!!! Thanks for the help

Hi Hugeton10, it was a bust the guys I was with wanted to fish rather then crab, so we went to a fishing place and caught a few croakers. I only one person that is hardcore down on crabbing. These guys only want to stay for a couple hours. We got there at to that place that you say us around 8 am and buy 8:30 am they wanted to leave already. Then at the fishing they want to leave at 10am. Makes for a terrible day.
@@viettexan8500 Yeah, that's really killing the mood if you wanted to do more crabbing, especially making the trip there and, of course, you want the most out of it. Was it their first time crabbing/fishing? I went down the road other side canal and was manage to catch some, good size too. Many next time we should join going crabbing together, lol.

That is a big crabs in Texas, here in Mass crabs are nice and fresh and if you get caught taking the female crabs you get big fine. So in Texas rules I don't know.( Here in Mass 5 inch and up 25 each person)
Hi Everyday, here in Texas you can keep the females over 5’ inches across as long as they don’t have eggs, but I only keep them if they are 6’ or 7’ inches or more. I never keep anything with eggs. Thank you

We catch 10-20 on an average day and if we get lucky we might catch 20-45 on a great day. Nothing compared to the hundreds and even thousands of the commercial fishermen that I have seen. @viettexan8500 there is literally a sewage treatment facility that dumps its discharge into this canal guy. Look at Google earth. So you may not be getting sick yet but I assure you that those crabs are polluted sir. I've been there many times to just catch bait and you can see the off white foam collecting on the surface.

Chester thank you for your comment. I go crabbing 5-6 times a year. If you see how many females the commercial fisherman’s catch it’s nothing compared to that. I would catch 10-20 matured crabs on an average day. 20-45 matured crabs on a great day. Compared to hundreds to thousands of crabs from 1 commercial fishermen’s catch. There is a video of that on my channel. It’s just a once in a while hobby. I thought I shared this with everyone, but I just can’t believe how many negative comments I have been receiving. I released females with eggs and don’t even keep anything under 6/12 7 inches. Even rules say 5 inches. I don’t know 🤷♂️ what the big deal is? I tried to play by the book while taking me family to enjoy on the weekends and shared my experience with everyone so they can see. I haven’t even gone this year at all. This is why I don’t even upload anymore. It’s ridiculous. I am saying all the comments were negative, but it’s messages like this that really disappointed me. @@damagekids that was actually a professional. I was just filming him. They were his days catch. I just happened to get lucky and bumped into him and bought some from him at a steal. I think he must of given me 50 crabs for only $20. Lol

Hello Friend, it would have to be from July to October in from my experience.
During a turning tide. In or out, I'm not sure if one is better than the other. Running water better spreads the smell of the bait in the water.
