I'm from south Louisiana we have tried EVERY method of crabbing but my favorite and most productive way is to wade out to about waist deep and do a chicken trout line .. drop two poles(PVC,wood, anything) run a line in-between and a piece of chicken every 3 to 6 feet apart ... This works really good for crabbing at the beach
From a pier you need a crabbing hoop net. Big metal ring with a small metal ring. Lays flat. Pull it up and it turns into a basket catching your crabs. THIS? Can produce 6-8 crabs at one time.
That's a 2 man job, the way your doing it. I did the string and bait with a buddy, one gently pulled them up, and the other netting, we got a couple dozen in 30 minutes.
And when u go to the jetties have a pole or 2 far out and a pole in hand use with shrimp and mullet like 5-6ft off the rocks the fish like the rock structor eat the barbicles off the rocks or atleast redfish and black drum do
Nice video! I've never crabbed, but that was exciting watching you get it done. Thanks for sharing! #ABetterOutdoors rocks!
I had a blast! Highly recommend!
It's the bait for me. I love, love crab!! 🦀

I gotta get me one of those and try it! Probably would help bring in a big fish on a pier too! Thanks for watching!
I use a ty wrap to secure chicken necks to the drop nets

Get the net in the water and extended first. Then pull the leg into the net.
Thanks man! I gotta get back out there and give it a go! Thanks for watching!
Since u don’t like spending $ Why not use hard heads as crab bait instead of chicken?
I’ll definitely try that! I usually only spend about $5 on the chicken tho
