This is my second-most favorite EF lens. My favorite is the EF 50 f1.2L - the rendering from that lens (just like this one) is incredible. These lenses really bring me back to how things felt and looked like decades ago. I bought my copies in 2008 and I still use them on my R6 to this day.
I just bought this lens. It has very good dimensional rendering. Many of the modern sharp lenses tend to flatten the image making it impossible to see the relational distance of elements in the photos.
You confirmed a lot of similar thoughts i’ve had about this lens. Good thing it was just not me. A shame that all modern lenses these days lack organic character. Fuji has had lot of great lenses, but now, even their new lenses becomes more about clinical sharpness than character. Like every lens is for photographing some atoms in a laboratory or something lol. Great review!

I just bought one. I paid around $500 USD for a very good example with box. I'll pair it with a 5D mark II.
