I played this with the real Sammy Hagar at a Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp. I found that I couldn't do the iconic riff with all the low D's, so I simplified it by taking out all but the first low D. I think Sammy was still wooed by how I attacked the part. He said the song was complicated, hard to play and hard for him to sing.

As a guitar player, I really wish pianos were keyed in reverse (treble notes on the left, bass on the right) as all my dexterity lies in my left hand. It's gonna take years of practice to play this with any kind of fluidity. Excellent instruction though.

The left hand explanation is hard to follow, it's inconsistent in the. Would be nice if you explained the chords first then where they fall in the bar in sequence.

Heads up to those new to this song. The first time he plays through the right hand pattern, he does the fingering differently from all the other times: This first time he demonstrates the pattern, he uses his middle finger to hit the 2nd G of the pattern. Every other time through the pattern, he plays that note with his index finger. When I first saw this video, I spent a lot of time learning the way he did it the first time, which I now regret. I believe it is smoother and easier to learn the song if you use your index finger on that note. This seems to happen a lot with this channel’s videos. Their players are not always consistent with the way they play the songs, which can be frustrating when you are trying hard to learn the best way to play them.
