    I worked for a couple of years, on and off, as a movie extra and seeing the camera on the long arm brought back wonderful memories. Costume, hair, make-up, walking on to a set, watching the actors rehearse - I loved it. Thank you for posting this little insight.

      I worked on five films as what's called a day player... usually only a few lines or some close up shots. It was fun... but movie making is a long drawn out process... after a while I kept thinking let's just wrap this up. Lol

    I had the honor to touring Highclere Castle back in July 2018...we were the first to arrive on the estate and I was totally blown away how much each room still looks like they are about to shoot a scene...it's frozen in time. Loved every second of it!

      I was an extra for the Movie The Fugitive with Harrison Ford. He was the one I wanted to work with but instead I worked for 4 days with Tommy Lee Jones. It was GLORIOUS! I have been a photographer and movie maker of my family so watching how professionals do movies was extremely fascinating. We could not talk to any star unless they talked to us first or we would be fired on the spot. And as it turned out, I actually turned out in a scene behind Tommy Lee Jones so my part will never be cut out since it's integral to the story. My grandchildren will always see me in that movie. I had a little piece of fame in this great movie. I predicted Mr. Jones would win the Oscar and he did!

    Manchester-born writer, CA MacRae, met with Carolyn Reynolds, Executive Producer of Coronation Street over a script she wrote in 2004. Inspired by Carolyn's positive comments C.A. MacRae began research years later when life enabled her. So if you love Downton Abbey and conspiracy theories, then you will love C.A MacRae's Gemini Complex, The Cabal: After the final demise of the Cathars at Chateau Mount Montségur in the south of France in 1244, a heroic rescue by a Knights Templar took place. Six hundred and fifty-three years later a murder and spate of suspicious deaths of the clergy become linked in the south of France. Flo’s first day (10th November 1918) at Chandringham doesn’t work out quite how she imagined. A bright but humble farm girl finds herself thrust into the upper echelons of society. Rather than being trained in the everyday tasks of a maid, she’s told she needs to leave her old life behind and immerse herself in the life of the aristocracy, as Lady Mary Tavistock. Her world is turned upside down, Flo realises she’s not the person she’s always thought she was, and to make matters worse she finds out her life is endangered. In order to make sense of who she really is and what her purpose in life is, she’s sent to Switzerland to meet others of her kind. The Gemini Complex, The Cabal is the first book of a trilogy. It's going to be released later this year

    For a series that prides itself on historical accuracy, I was surprised and disappointed that they got the military review scene wrong. They referred to them as a hussar regiment, but what was shown was the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery; two very different types of regiments. Why didn't they just say he was reviewing an artillery troop?

      @@fly89 A lot of the time they are pantomiming, or at least are not being recorded. Recording the sound of an orchestra on a set like that can be very difficult, so they may have the musicians pretend, then loop in the actual music recorded in a studio.

    I hated the cheesy dance scene at the end off the movie. It was so bad! Wanted to see a lot of Henry, Mary, Caroline and Edith. Thank God they did not bring back Rose.

  • @mprkg
    @mprkg 3 роки тому

    I thought the movie was just "ok." The plot to shoot the King was stupid. There was no explanation as to what happened to Edith's woman Editor (who Branson seemed to want to date), no explanation to Mr. Mason (thought he would be married to Mrs. Patmore). I was extremely disappointed that the children- George, Marigold, Sybiie and UGLY Caroline were in it for literally 5 seconds! The child actress who played Caroline for 2 seconds was hideous. Stupid to have Henry in the last minute only. I was most disappointed that they did not bring back Prince Kuragin for Violet. Why would Kuragin ever get back with his nasty wife? They should have brought back a now widowed Kuragin and have him marry Violet in the movie. Mary's wig with the bangs was so bad! Sorry, but I give the movie a C.
