I’m one of those people who are born with this persuasive ability. I realized that I do many of the things that Dr. Cialdini teaches, without even thinking about it. My husband has always wondered how I so easily persuade people to do things that I want them to do. The way I explained it to him is that people like genuine people, and people who are most like them. I try really hard to find something in common with the person, and simultaneously appear trustworthy to them. I’m never pushy with people. I think people perceive pushiness as phoniness.
intent rules. karma rules. a scalpel can save a life in surgery or take a life when it cuts the femoral artery. a tool is a tool. the user and intent rule. and there are always the 5 % who will abuse it.
@@jobob47 correct, your explanation is better than his, BUT AL is correct as well, manipulation does not have to be dishonest or negative... and it can still be manipulative.

FASCINATING! Just discovered the work of Dr. Cialdini and I'm thrilled. The story of his brother through college has made me earn a few customers!
It's tough to believe such a free content viewed by that limited number of times.

I have to disagree about the definition of manipulation. It doesn't have to be dishonest or negative. It's a fine line or is it?
