Here, things begin to turn dangerous. The Queen accepts the idea of murder as a way to get her love interest, by killing off any competition: "I want to kill all the love that's for you, so only mine remains". The lyrics also go from "let me be the one" to "I WILL BE the one!". In the live version, Dany spits out the final "for you to love me back!" in furious, frustrated rage. Things are about to occur which cannot be undone.
Thank you for spending so much time analyzing this highly underrated song. It's one of my favorites on the album.
I've been listening to this since it was released. A complete masterpiece. More hooks than a tacklebox.

GREAT REVIEW as always. The Warning make great original Hard Rock sounds. As you know, They begin US MAYDAY tour March 2022 starting on the West Coast, then going East. I have purchased my tickets for Berkeley, CA, Portland , OR and Seattle. Go to their website for all the 28+ towns they play I'm sure they will enjoy seeing you.
In 1969 & '70 i managed a Rock Club in Southern California. Auditioned more wannabe rock-n-roll groups than I care to remember. IMO "The Warning" has the talent, drive, personality, appreciation of their fans, family and crew support, to make it to BIG-TIME, as they wish to go. from SW Washington
There's a doc, I think the same Tidal doc you first showed, where the big thing they learned in their evolution of songwriting for this album was key changes. You can probably watch the whole Tidal doc without spoiling your discovery of this album.
And did you know that “above” everything Pau does, she designs the backgrounds too? The word amazing becomes short at this point!
She controls the background flow, with her laptop and triggers, but I doubt she actually designed them.
Dude! You are the first reactor / analyst to get this song for what it is, a true piece of art. The piano, the variants, the feel. It’s one of my favorite songs on the album. I friggin love it! Much respect dude, great job!

THE ONE, ONE OF THE LESS REACTED THEMES OF THE WARNING, BEING A VERY GOOD THEME, BEAUTIFUL PRESENCE OF THE PIANO AND AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE BY DANY, AS ALWAYS
In the documentary they specifically mentioned that key changes were a new aspect of their music that they developed while composing this album. Surprisingly, Pau said this was influenced by her interest in K-pop. Enjoyed your reaction! 👍😎

I love The Warning and I love your reactions! You do a really awesome job at reacting emotionally but also analyzing the music I love it. In the short doc that Tidal just released on them they talk about how key changes were a big thing for them in QOTMS.

Hey Wave! Fun Fact: the previous song, UGH, was very difficult for them to write and finish and went through many versions. A couple of the parts of the previous versions ended up in the songs, "The One" and The Sacrifice". If you listen carefully you hear some similarities in all three songs.

I really like your insights as a musician. This album is full of details in each song and few realize the genius in the album's concept. As a musician, I see their creative ability. Exclusion is not easy. It depends on many factors, but they did it.

Wave, you’re one of my favorite reactors because of your deep analysis of songs. In this case, though, i think you’re doing the album (and yourself) a disservice. Sorry but, as a concept album, i think the best way to do it would be the whole album at one time so you get the whole experience unspoiled by the passage of (weeks?) between songs. Just my opinion, but you’re still one my favorite reactors.

How The Warning write their lyrics and their music. Experimenting with different styles of music as some of the other commenters and they have said. All I can think of is Rush. Just like Rush some people don't get the genius. The Warning they just know how to put music and lyrics together.⚡⚡⚡🤘🤘🤘⚠️⚠️⚠️

If you love The Warning as much as do, then I invite you to check out another sister fronted band, Larkin Poe, from Nashville, TN, that have been performing and recording as independent artists on their own label! Much like The Warning, these ladies have the same kind of intense dedication to their art and craft!! The Lovell Sisters, Rebecca(guitars, mandolin, banjo and lead vocals) and Megan(lap steel slide, dobro and backing vocals) have been at it since 2010, way before The Warning. Honing their craft just as The Warning have been. Larkin Poe is a roots blues rock band, having many original songs and covers on UA-cam. Plus their own social media venues. They will not disappoint!
