I was 13 the first time I listened to Suede. I fell in love straight away. I think this might be the best concert video I've ever seen, and I'm 68 years old. I acquired a VHS copy of it in the 90s as a promotional item from Columbia. It's a perfect distillation of the band's music and the times in which it was made.
I can't believe how dead-on this comment is!!!! I never saw this though. Oldtime Suede fan but it was much harder to come across things like this in the 90s. It is wonderfully shot. perfect archive for the ages.

@@erloser6942 Hopefully you will see them in US sometime. They are still brilliant live. I was actually at this gig (I'm ancient!) and it was amazing. They are probably in top 3 bands I've ever seen live, and they still have incredible energy.

My first gig. Met Brett and Bernard when they turned up, signed my parka too, lovely lads. We’d got there midday and sat at the doors til opening time. Front n centre. Good times.
I cant stop watching this. I'd do anything to go back in time and be there. I was too young to be at this gig but managed to see them two years later in Leicester when I was 15. Unfortunately Bernard had left. I can listen to this album over and over again and it never gets boring.
This is superb production for 1993, even today - 30 years later, it is great! Lights, camera, cut = everyone worked there for 100%, but of course SUEDE gave 200% to the audience!
Saw them twice on their first US Tour for the debut album. Both in clubs as they were not nearly as popular here as in England and both shows were amazing. I swear Bernard wore the same red shirt at both gigs haha. To open those gigs with Next Life was nothing short of astounding. I'd seen tons of bands and never anyone with the balls to do something like that.
I dreamed so much about this moment of remastering the video and the audio. I thought about it 10 years ago. When I lived in Brazil I dreamed of seeing them in my homeland in Curitiba. Now living in Luxembourg, I will be able to fulfill my great dream of seeing you at the Tempodrom in Berlin. I hope they play all the B-sides of Coming Up without exception. I'm looking forward to seeing This Time, Graffiti Women, Young Men. I need to realize that dream. I love Suede from the bottom of my heart.
Eu compreendo absolutamente esse sentimento. Eu ainda hei de assitir a um show do Suede. Um dia, sonho em poder ouvir Saturday Night e This Time ao vivo. Vou morrer de chorar.

I remember seeing this... I had the first album and I was in love with the music! Brett just amazed me! One of my biggest teenage crushes. Those hips!!! I'm now 41 but I watch this and just feel that amazement again.
I remember seeing this as a teenager, dreaming of one day seeing Suede - and other bands - live in sweaty venues. Looking forward to hopefully seeing you guys next April. Fingers crossed!
I can't believe how good it is! The quality is stunning! I am impressed! Watching again again, noticing so many details that were blurred in the old version. Now everything is so sharp!
Saw them at The Duchess of York in June '92 and several times afterwards during their first phase. Remember the energy and the amazing sound Bernard got from his guitar. He was such a little skinny guy with this immense sound. Such a mesmeric band. Took the boy to see them at Bristol 02 in April 2019 - same energy - same atmosphere. Booked again for next year in Leeds for the Coming Up tour next year (fingers crossed)
From this movie I wouldn't have guessed they will be one day. Their communication with the audience nowadays is superb. The raw darkness of the latest albums... As a youngster you tend to take even the funny things more seriously. And the Jumping from aggressive to slow and intensive and back in this movie makes me wonder who was the dramaturge :D :D
Oh. My. God. That is insane. I've been a fan of suede for almost 30 years now and this is the first time I have ever seen this. I cannot believe how incredibly great this show is!!! Ohmygod. I'm just floored and speechless. It has seriously just left me just in awe jaw dropping just staring in how AMAZING and how frickin' AWESOME this show is.... I'm just.... I have to watch this again!!!!
Same reaction!! Had never known this existed but loved the albums and music videos. For some of the younger fans, remember that back in the 90s the access and flow of media was not what it is today. You had to be in the know and also pay for VHS or see something at the right time on TV. The Internet has made it so much easier to stumble on gold like this.
I fell in love for the first time to this era of Suede. Thanks guys, couldn’t of asked for a more filmic soundtrack. On certain summer nights when it’s sticky and humid out, driving in the car w/ Insatiable One blaring, I’m almost back there again.
Tremendo material!! Pensar que no la conoce mucha gente. Tienen canciones que evidiaría componer cualquier otra banda. Hasta Morrisey cantó "My insatiable one"! Gracias por tanto talento y perseverancia en el tiempo, Suede!!! 🇺🇾
I remember watching this on telly as a teenager and being mesmerised by this band. By Brett! I was so swept up by his gorgeous androgyny. The music is still so special to me. I had this first album on casette! Remember those?
I wish there was an unedited version! I’d love to see Suede perform. Nonstop camera effects and cuts make this almost unwatchable. Only in moments like Pantomime Horse do you get a chance to see the band, and not the editor, perform.
Try this show from Milan in 1993 if you just want to see a filmed concert from that tour that is a bit more raw just focuses on the band without all the editing and effects. ua-cam.com/video/VmY_W9b3gEg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TravisBickle1963

Viewing here in Australia during lockdown and missing live music so much. I obsessed about this band for years, my soundtrack to the 90s, but still never had the opportunity to see them live. Thankyou for sharing and bringing the quality tunes to my world.

The 90's was our generations 60's,,, the music, the style,, everything.
In my eyes, Suede (with Bernard on board) remains the best band ever.

@@deepfocus888 It was aired many times on a french cable music channel, so it was easy to record it on VHS - which I did. Very special film.
But those times went by so very quickly. By '96 they were already gone. The Cobain effect having touched the remainder.

@Dildo Shwaggins Perhaps he can see 'the feminine'

Davvero bello questo concerto, versioni live stupende... grazie per averlo condiviso!
Brett's voice + Bernard's guitar, what a gift to music! Wish they would've made a few more albums together...
Mat Osman deserves equal credit. His bass lines are incredible, and Suede wouldn't be Suede without them.
