Thanks for posting this and the link to the part. My trailblazer is making the same sound and my mechanic quoted me $300, so I’m gonna try fixing it myself. I’m very green with cars, but what’s the harm in trying? Thank you for the info!

Yeah definitely give it a shot. What makes it difficult is that its located in a hard to reach area.
But if you give yourself plenty of time and you're patient, you wont have a problem.
300 is a fair quote considering the time it takes.
Good luck, you got this. 👍

@@edlvsgng I’ve been spending today figuring out which one it is and I’ve at least narrowed it down to the drivers side, so I’m more tempted to bring it to the mechanic, but I at least have the part in hand and more knowledge to go on than I did at the start of the day! Thanks for all your help 🙏

H Vac vent actuator it gets stuck mine was for the front vents if it the one under the steering wheel you don’t have to take the whole dash apart like 3 mechanics told me you can get from under the pedal but you have to do it blind but it still took me about 45 minutes

No it literally would of been me with my hand in a hole lol but if you take the cover off we’re the vents for air are by your it’s 2 I think 10 mm screws you can put you hand up the right side and feel for the knock and the screws putting it back in is harder I taped the screw and left alittle tail so I can’t get the tape off hope that helps

It's one of 4 actuators according to a tech I spoke to. I have yet to tru to find which one it is. I'm sure there is a write up online somewhere.

Lmao. Sadly, no. The truck has been parked for a while. I've been focusing on other repairs and other projects. I've been told by several people that the issue is likely 1 of 4 actuators that tend to go bad frequently.

I have an 07 envoy and an 08 Denali… both do this bs. The Denali also has leveling issues that’s cost me thousands. Very very poor made car with too many issues… and I have two I’m thinking of trading at this point.

Not sure if you still need to fix it, but the problem was an hvac blend door actuator located underneath the dashboard like a few other people here mentioned.
