Lord I tried to get 84 Stitches I couldn't. I did my brim with half double crochet. I'll have to try doing slip stitches and see if that will work. I really wanted to make this hat😆
Thank you for your tutorial video and free pattern. I love the look of the hat. But I can't seem to get the gauge correct no matter what size crochet hook I used. I even went down to 3mm. The gauge was 28sts x 6 rows= 4". I used craftsmart value yarns medium 4 worsted weight 100% acrylic yarn. I finished crocheting the hat, but it turned out to be too big and too long. What did I do wrong? Should I used a thinner weight yarn?

Try sc brim. I always do that and it seems to work up just fine.

Is this stitch like the thermal stitch, but doing a slip stitch?
