I like how James Gunn has a balance of well known and obscure characters, this plan seems really cool and fun, I just wonder how it’ll be explained that parts of the old universe remain.
@Dead Channel It's very likely going to just be the Gunn-specific stuff like The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker characters. Possibly Blue Beetle as well but everyone else is likely getting recasted as we're already seeing with Batman, Superman and likely Wonder Woman and Supergirl
@@JamesThePokemonHunter Peacemaker and Suicide Squad are both staying. If you’ve seen them there are plenty of characters and cameos that have crossed over into other films. It’s a little bit of a mess. I think eventually when we get Flash he will time travel and return to a different timeline/universe and James Gunn can make all of the changes he wants and doesn’t have to retcon anything.
@@JamesThePokemonHunter wonder woman, aquaman, shazam, waller, the peacemaker cast, blue beetle, and some of the suicide squad are confirmed pretty much. chances are ezra miller might actually stay as flash too.
Yeah, Shazam they can easily explain away simply because he's already somewhat disconnected from the main continuity. Aquaman I'm less sure about, they'll have to do some retcons there.
I'm most excited for 'Lanterns' and 'Swamp Thing.' I really hope 'Swamp Thing' leads to the creation of a Justice League Dark, with Constantine, Zatanna, Fate, Etrigan, and many more coming soon.
Man John Constantine in the DCU gets me so damn exited. Not only cause I think Gunn will make him the comic accurate british, blond chain smoking bastard he’s supposed to be but also cause they’re not afraid to go rated r with Constantine, which the character desperately needs. Hellblazer is one of the most iconic comic runs ever and I hope they take heavy inspiration from that run.
James got me by the balls. I finished All Star Superman last night and I got emotional reading it a few times but it was such a fun ride, I can't believe I haven't read it sooner. If the movie borrows the tone of the best moments it'll be amazing (provided they ofc get the right crew and talent.)
Lanterns is easily the one I'm most excited for. A cop drama with Hal Jordan and John Stewart has basically been the thing I've wanted out of Green Lantern since the old DCEU slate was announced like 9 years ago. With Gunn's experience doing cosmic ensembles and tapping into the weird sci fi corners of comics I'm very excited to see what he'll do with all the Corps, let alone just the Green Lanterns Brave and the Bold doing the proper live action Batfamily story, Booster Gold being highly topical due to his nature as basically being a social media influencer posing as a superhero and Supergirl adapting Tom King's incredible miniseries are also way up there for me

Would absolutely love to see Cole Cash (Grifter) show up either as part of The Authority team or in a cameo. Always loved him as a character, great list Coy!
I really can't wait to see who they cast as the next Batman because he may very well be the first Batman actor that will need to tackle the lighter side of the character in a serious way.
Introducing the Authority before the Justice League is such a fascinating move to me. They might be introducing them as a 'what not to do' in-universe example that sets up the need for the Justice League going forward. There are some really interesting things they could do with them. Honestly, I'm just excited to see how these various drastically different shows and movies play into each other, especially as they're already hinting at a larger overarching plot.
that’s what i’m hoping, the idea of the justice league being born out of the need for heroes that are more willing to do things the right way as opposed to wrecking shop like the authority sounds like a great origin tbh
Excited for everything really but most excited for Big Blue. After witnessing everything Superman related over the years to learn from. I really want to see James Gunn's version.

Midnigter and Apollo are definitely the biggest draw for me with the Authority hopefully Gunn does them right. Coy is literally the best person to make this video. I'm really looking forward to his coverage on all DC movies and shows 🙌🏻 I'm most looking forward to Superman Legacy 💫
Nice commentary on the DC slate! I am an 80s kid, so I am familiar with the Creature Commandos and you are correct about their WWII roots. I will say that I have almost the reverse thought when it comes to Supergirl, as that story would be my last pick out of the group, but I am always open to having my conceptions thrown on their head when it comes time to check her show out! Thanks for your rundown!
Good list. My top 10 10. Paradise Lost 9. Creature Commandos 8. Booster Gold 7. Waller 6. Swamp Thing 5. Authority 4. Lanterns 3. Woman of Tomorrow 2. Legacy 1. Brave and the Bold
Brave and the Bold is definitely the thing I am MOST excited for. Let's go Damien! Superman: Legacy is something I can't wait for, I need a good superman modern movie which is about hope Authority really seems like its James Gunns' baby and James Gunn is fantastic so I have full confidence. Lanterns is something I am super excited for, we need some good Lantern representation. Supergirl I think can be done so so well. Creature Commandos seems interesting but still not something im super excited for Booster Gold, Swamp-Thing both seem interesting but nothing im jumping out of my chair for Paradise Lost im not that hype for (whenever someone says "It's the game of thrones of blank) I just zone out, I didn't even like Game of Thrones in the first place so that isn't a flex to me. Waller, Its probably gonna be a surprise hit but at the same time I dont care for the character
Hey Coy, big fan from Ireland, dont read comics but love everything DC from movies, tv and games. After ur video with John and Greg ur excitement has definitely got me more excited...I wasnt a fan of The Batman (David Fincher movie with an Emo 20 something wearing a bat costume) so im looking forward to Brave and The Bold especially with an established Bat family. I have no idea who the Authority was but ur discussion on them has really got me interested..I love Peacemaker and the Squad so cant wait for more Waller and Co. Lanterns show sounds incredible, finally coming, i hope we get other Lanterns in it.. i love Supergirl so finally glad to see her portrayed as not just a female Superman but much deeper then that, anything can be better then Supegirl The Movie, CW Supergirl and her in The Injustice games...Swap thing should be cool, i loved that last show they made, i wonder if a Justice League Dark movie would get more casual viewers excited with all the characters in it though...Booster gold i hope is hilarious and really want Blue Beetle to interact with him.. Lastly i have been a Supes fan since i was 3, 6 years dressed as him for Halloween, i loved Cavill but i get new Superman will be more kind of a dorkey naive nice guy that brings sunshine to everyones life, which i love and unfortunately thats not Cavill. Im just worried it will get too silly and jokey, i hope Gunn can pull it off and Casting wont be easy..Anyway thanks for the video Coy, been watching ur video since u had that show with Amy on Collider bak in the day, always great to get ur expert input on these worlds👍
I have loved Supergirl since I was very young (under 10) and I am so glad she is finally getting the movie she deserves. I was (and still am) looking forward to the Supergirl who is supposed to appear in the Flash movie, however.
I love your takes Coy but I heard you say frank quietly we ain’t miss that 😂but I also agree we need a new Superman a Superman whose a good person with good parents
This is my list 10. The Authority, I know 0 about The Authority which is why its so low 9. Creature Commandos, I'm still very excited, just not as excited 8. Waller, same thing a Creature Commandos, I'm excited, but theres better stuff on the list 7. Paradise Lost, I do think WW will be in this, I just don't think she'll play a major role 6. Booster Gold, I don't know too much about him, but I've heard very good things 5. Swamp Thing, so much potential, I'm very excited 4. Supergirl, you really hyped this up and moved it higher up the list for me 3. Superman, its Superman, whats not to love 2. Batman, I can't wait for the Batfamily 1. Lanterns, I've wanted a GL film since as long as I can remember
Love listening to Coy talk about a topic I love (Comics and films) hes so passionate about all this... Great video... Bring on the future for DC.... Loved these announcement from Gunn.
YEEEAAHH! YEAH COY! I LOVE THISSS!! I would also love if you made a video on what comics to read for Swamp Thing! Also this is my most excited list! 10 Waller 9 Creature Commando's 8 Paradise Lost 7 The Authority 6 Booster Gold! (YEAHHH) 5 Lanterns 4 Batman: Brave and the Bold 3: Superman: Legacy 2: Swamp Thing 1: Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (TOM FUCKING KING!?)
I knew it!!! The moment the announcement was made I said to myself, "oh this is gonna be an awesome Coys comic corner episode" and in edition, I'm most excited for the lanterns! Just because I feel like they're cool characters that need to be done right and I think they'll finally do it!
I most excited for the Batman Brave and Bold movie, least excited for Creature Commandoes, and most terrified/worried for Super Man Legacy, for me i just don't why but from how James Gunn described it, it gives me Superman Returns vibes, but only Superman never left the planet for 5 years, but it also gives me hope that it may be like the animated movie Superman Man of Tomorrow
Ppl just need to be patient pls and let Gunn/Safran cook! Looking forward to Lanterns, Paradise Lost & Waller on the TV side, and curious as to what both a written & likely directed James Gunn Superman movie & James Mangold Swamp Thing movie looks like! The specific writers/directors selected for each of these 10 projects will be crucial! Order of Excitement; 1) Lanterns 2) Paradise Lost 3) Superman Legacy 4) Batman: Bold and the Brave 5) Swamp Thing 6) Waller 7) Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow 8) Booster Gold 9) The Authority 10) Creature Commandos
1, The Authority - Never heard of them. Not a comic book reader. But, the concept intrigues me. A dark, morally corrupt Justice League? Sign me up. 2. Supergirl: Women of Tomorrow - The pitch was great. Love the contrast between her and Superman by the pitch. 3. Swamp Thing - Loved the TV show, hate that they canceled it. Great potential with the director of Logan potentially directing it. 4. Batman: The Brave and The Bold - Concept is good. Like to see a different way to go about Batman. Never got the Batfamily in a movie. I prefer a loner as Batman, like Pattinson, but would like to see how this pan out. 5. Superman: Legacy - Not really a fan of Superman. James Gunn is writing the script, so I am hopeful that it will be good. 6. Lanterns - The first season of True Detective is one of my favorite seasons of any TV show. If that's the sells pitch, then I am intrigued. 7. Paradice Lost - Game of Thrones / House of The Dragon are my favorite shows. Really intrigued how they go about this show 8. Waller - The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are two of my favorite things that came out the DCEU. 9. Booster Gold - Never heard of him. Really enjoy Gunns comedy. Love more serious tones of TV shows / movies more. 10. Creature Commandos - Like animated shows, but love live action more. Nothing bad to say. Creature Commandos, Waller, Booster Gold,
Swamp thing got the loudest cheer from me! The Batman 2 ...so glad this didn't fall by the wayside. My fave Batman take ever! It'll be interesting where the Brave and the Bold takes us. Excited for both Super projects..man and girl.
Honestly, I’m excited to see all of these things. I feel like my top 3 are interchangeable for number 1, depending on the day. For today, though, we’ll go with this list: 1. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow 2. The Brave and the Bold 3. Superman: Legacy 4. Lanterns 5. Paradise Lost 6. Waller 7. The Authority 8. Booster Gold 9. Swamp Thing 10. Creature Commandos
Most excited about Booster Gold. I read him a lot in the late 80s and 90s him and Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) just the shenanigans they got into, and the funny, practical jokes they played, gave a whole new fun dimension to the justice league. Also, I think that’s probably one of the titles that people don’t know too much about and I think are going to really love. When they know Booster Gold personality, if they nail it.
I'm most excited for Lanterns but worried why are they on Earth? One of the things I love is it's a sci-fi epic story. Grounding it on our planet diminishes Lanterns a bit for me. I hope we see Sinestro as a Green Lantern first! He is one of my favorite DC villains.
GL and The Authority have to be my favorite things announced especially The Authority I met a lot of friends when discussing it at the store a few years ago
My Choices for the DCU: Superman - Paul Mescal Supergirl - Milly Alcock Batman - Phil Dunster Damian Wayne - Jacob Tremblay Hal Jordan - Aaron Eckhart John Stewart - Tyler James Williams Booster Gold - Austin Butler
Waller sounds official! I hope they tackle Cadmus and Star Labs. The elsewhere series in DC is known as Elseworld and the stories are usually so unique that they need to stand alone, such as the time Batman became an Egyptian God. Casting needs to be tight though for this new DCU to take root.
I'd be interested in a Booster Gold video because I don't know much about him and I trust that you'll help me understand him better, so that I can know what to expect moving forward.
1. Superman: Legacy (We haven't gotten a Superman movie in 10 years, a James Gunn written Superman movie sounds really promising because he is a fan, complete nerd that seems to be making the Superman I wanted to see on the big screen) 2. Lanterns (Sounds really great, it's like soace opera mixed with True Detective which sounds so genuinely great. A cop drama with Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart, sign me up) 3. Batman: The Brave And The Bold (I love the story in the comics and I'm always in for some Batman action, it sounds really fresh and different from other Batman live action media, but I'm also a little skeptical on the fact they are going straight in with Damian and Bruce) 4. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (The comic is nothing short of incredible, if you're going for that, sign me the fricking shit up) 5. The Authority (This was so unexpected, and the fact that they might be building this for Superman 2 so we get a story like Superman VS The Elite, that story is great. If they have James Gunn who is really good at making these anti-heroes with The Suicide Squad) 6. Booster Gold (Imposter syndrome with Back to the Future II? Sign me up) 7. Paradise Lost (Game of Thrones esque prequel, really excited for the concept but again the absence of Wonder Woman I'm a little skeptical) 8. Swamp Thing (Excited but we don't know shit) 9. Waller (Excited) 10. Creature Commandos (Not that interested but good that it's something different)
I was just thinking about when we were gonna get another Coy’s Comic Corner and when I got up for work this morning this happened! I Love Coy’s Comic Corner! Coy, I would love to hear you explain a lot of these different projects, especially the ones I’m not aware of like “The Authority, Swamp Thing, Booster Gold, and Creature Commandos”. I will be checking out your comic recommendations! You have shown me the path of comic books and I bought my first two books in 2022 and am looking forward to buying more in 2023! Another Video idea is what are you thinking James Gunn is trying to led up to with the slate we have right, I would love to hear your thoughts! Keep up the good work! Love Coy’s Comic Corner! Love your main channel (Please People Subscribe if you haven’t already!). Keep the content coming!
Alexander Skarsgard (The Northman) as Batman since he is right age and build. Bill Skarsgard (Pennywise) as Joker. Jensen Ackles as Hal Jordan Green Lantern.
So that day I went and got a copy of Tom King's Supergirl run and being about a third way into it I'm absolutely pumped to see how they play with this. Best pitch I have is it's True Grit in Space. Also I love the art in this book. Think very Dr. Suess colors meets Ralph Bakshi Wizards landscapes. As much as I'm excited for Superman this project rocketed to the top of my list.
Here is my ranking of excitement 1. Batman: The Brave and the Bold 2. Superman: Legacy 3. Lanterns 4. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow 5. Paradise Lost 6. Booster Gold 7. Swamp Thing 8. The Authority 9. Waller 10. Creature Commandos
I FUCKING LOVE Supergirl; from the comic, the tv shows, the old film and especially, the holy comic book of Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow. And while it was announced for an adaptation soon, my throat was geeking out and it fueled me more to down into some geek stuff again, ughhh I love the art and I love how it writes, I'm with Coy putting Supergirl in number ONE, Supergirl already change my life, and I'm here for it ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
what I like abt James Gunn is dat he understands that we live in a time where we live in a time where superheroes, despite being the stars of this gen, wont alone help sell a movie hence, he goes all out... like his suicide squad & peacemaker movie... massive surprises & didnt hold back... so big hopes... also the fact dat theyre being diverse in genres such as horror with Swamp Thing, epic scifi with Supergirl, Detective Thriller with the Lanterns, Superhero commentary with the authority etc. Hes focusing on making good content from various genres ft., just like in the old days but instead of big stars... its superheroes...
This has potential to be great, Brave and the bold- Bruce trying to be a better father figure Superman Legacy- Best of all the Supermans hopefully Etc! And hopefully this leads to a New 52 type of movie where we can say goodbye or a nod to all the movies before.
Okay I was surprised that another Batman movie is in the works, but Batman is my favorite comic book character so I say more Batman movies please especially if the Bat family is involved. Also looking forward to the new Superman and a Supergirl movie, and my biggest surprise is Swamp Thing. I caught up on Harley Quinn and wanted a Swamp Thing project, and now James Gunn is going to bring us a comic horror movie I guess and I could not be more excited
Can you do a casting video for the Authority movie for what characters you'd like to see in it. Personally I'd love to see Grifter, the Midnighter, Apollo, Swift, Engineer, the High, Fuji, and the Doctor(Thornedike).

Coy! We want more DC videos! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! I Absolutely loved this video! I am most excited for Supergirl!
Brave and the Bold is definitely the thing I am MOST excited for. Let's go Damien!
Superman: Legacy is something I can't wait for, I need a good superman modern movie which is about hope
Authority really seems like its James Gunns' baby and James Gunn is fantastic so I have full confidence.
Lanterns is something I am super excited for, we need some good Lantern representation.
Supergirl I think can be done so so well.
Creature Commandos seems interesting but still not something im super excited for
Booster Gold, Swamp-Thing both seem interesting but nothing im jumping out of my chair for
Paradise Lost im not that hype for (whenever someone says "It's the game of thrones of blank) I just zone out, I didn't even like Game of Thrones in the first place so that isn't a flex to me.
Waller, Its probably gonna be a surprise hit but at the same time I dont care for the character
Finally someone that gets Swamp Thing. So many youtubers are like "Really?? Swamp Thing??". Yes!
coy's comic corner is one of my favorite video series on youtube! could we get an episode talking about the boys tv show?
I'm hoping that the green lanterns will lead to braniac and make the first justice league villain.
Definitely gonna need that Booster Gold vid😂
Just remember Booster Gold comic failed to sale.
Frank quitely I am more psyched now for all of em. Thanks CJ!
I have loved Supergirl since I was very young (under 10) and I am so glad she is finally getting the movie she deserves. I was (and still am) looking forward to the Supergirl who is supposed to appear in the Flash movie, however.
Jenny sparks making the big screen is something you could never have prepared me for (maybe tv or cartoon, not live action movie)!
Im excited for all it.
Damien was the best surprise.
I love your takes Coy but I heard you say frank quietly we ain’t miss that 😂but I also agree we need a new Superman a Superman whose a good person with good parents
Coy srsly more DC videos!! Love it👏🏽
:)
Most excited for woman of tomorrow. The book was one of the best things DC has put out in the last decade
This is my list
10. The Authority, I know 0 about The Authority which is why its so low
9. Creature Commandos, I'm still very excited, just not as excited
8. Waller, same thing a Creature Commandos, I'm excited, but theres better stuff on the list
7. Paradise Lost, I do think WW will be in this, I just don't think she'll play a major role
6. Booster Gold, I don't know too much about him, but I've heard very good things
5. Swamp Thing, so much potential, I'm very excited
4. Supergirl, you really hyped this up and moved it higher up the list for me
3. Superman, its Superman, whats not to love
2. Batman, I can't wait for the Batfamily
1. Lanterns, I've wanted a GL film since as long as I can remember
Cheaaaaa!
Great ranking. Looking forward most to Swamp Thing.
10 Waller
9 Creature Commando's
8 Paradise Lost
7 The Authority
6 Booster Gold! (YEAHHH)
5 Lanterns
4 Batman: Brave and the Bold
3: Superman: Legacy
2: Swamp Thing
1: Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (TOM FUCKING KING!?)
1. Woman of Tomorrow & Lanterns
2. The Brave and the Bold & Booster Gold
3. Swamp Thing & Waller
4. Superman: Legacy & Paradise Lost
5. The Authority & Creature Commandos
Coy! You need to do the Booster Gold breakdown 200%!!!
I am most excited to see Batman brave and the bold along with Supergirl
Ppl just need to be patient pls and let Gunn/Safran cook! Looking forward to Lanterns, Paradise Lost & Waller on the TV side, and curious as to what both a written & likely directed James Gunn Superman movie & James Mangold Swamp Thing movie looks like! The specific writers/directors selected for each of these 10 projects will be crucial! Order of Excitement;
1) Lanterns
2) Paradise Lost
3) Superman Legacy
4) Batman: Bold and the Brave
5) Swamp Thing
6) Waller
7) Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
8) Booster Gold
9) The Authority
10) Creature Commandos
Really intrigued how they go about this show
Creature Commandos, Waller, Booster Gold,
I never thought we'd get The Authority. 😲😱🤯
I’m excited about Superman, Brave and the Bold, Lanterns, and Booster Gold!
I’d love a booster gold video!
Swamp thing got the loudest cheer from me! The Batman 2 ...so glad this didn't fall by the wayside. My fave Batman take ever! It'll be interesting where the Brave and the Bold takes us. Excited for both Super projects..man and girl.
More DC videos, please, Coy! 😻
Honestly, I’m excited to see all of these things. I feel like my top 3 are interchangeable for number 1, depending on the day. For today, though, we’ll go with this list:
1. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
2. The Brave and the Bold
3. Superman: Legacy
4. Lanterns
5. Paradise Lost
6. Waller
7. The Authority
8. Booster Gold
9. Swamp Thing
10. Creature Commandos
Coys back very excited for the future of dc
Excited for the Supergirl WoT movie. I love the comic it is based on. Also I loved Supergirl in Legion of SuperHeroes movie.
GL and The Authority have to be my favorite things announced especially The Authority I met a lot of friends when discussing it at the store a few years ago
“Just had bale” fucking almost 11-12 years ago😂😂😂😂
My Choices for the DCU:
Superman - Paul Mescal
Supergirl - Milly Alcock
Batman - Phil Dunster
Damian Wayne - Jacob Tremblay
Hal Jordan - Aaron Eckhart
John Stewart - Tyler James Williams
Booster Gold - Austin Butler
Swamp Thing needs to be marketed as a high-budget horror movie! Horror movies a huge right now and this needs to tap into that crowd.
1. Superman: Legacy (We haven't gotten a Superman movie in 10 years, a James Gunn written Superman movie sounds really promising because he is a fan, complete nerd that seems to be making the Superman I wanted to see on the big screen)
2. Lanterns (Sounds really great, it's like soace opera mixed with True Detective which sounds so genuinely great. A cop drama with Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart, sign me up)
3. Batman: The Brave And The Bold (I love the story in the comics and I'm always in for some Batman action, it sounds really fresh and different from other Batman live action media, but I'm also a little skeptical on the fact they are going straight in with Damian and Bruce)
4. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (The comic is nothing short of incredible, if you're going for that, sign me the fricking shit up)
5. The Authority (This was so unexpected, and the fact that they might be building this for Superman 2 so we get a story like Superman VS The Elite, that story is great. If they have James Gunn who is really good at making these anti-heroes with The Suicide Squad)
6. Booster Gold (Imposter syndrome with Back to the Future II? Sign me up)
7. Paradise Lost (Game of Thrones esque prequel, really excited for the concept but again the absence of Wonder Woman I'm a little skeptical)
8. Swamp Thing (Excited but we don't know shit)
9. Waller (Excited)
10. Creature Commandos (Not that interested but good that it's something different)
Been waiting for this!
Jensen Ackles as Hal Jordan Green Lantern.
i would love to see coy make a booster golf video! great video here btw
Thanks man! Planning on it thanks for chimin in!
More dc coverage and comic recs over on my personal page too!
@@CoyJandreau no problem dude! i’ll check out the content on your channel now
I'm most excited for Batman being a Batman fanatic, but also Booster Gold and Swamp Thing, but more specific I just want Joker 2!
Omega Men, Vision, Mister Miracle, Swamp Thing Winter Special - Tom King puts out fantastic works
I'm just happy I lived long enough to see a Wildstorm property up on screen with The Authority 😂
Here is my ranking of excitement
1. Batman: The Brave and the Bold
2. Superman: Legacy
3. Lanterns
4. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
5. Paradise Lost
6. Booster Gold
7. Swamp Thing
8. The Authority
9. Waller
This has potential to be great, Brave and the bold- Bruce trying to be a better father figure
Superman Legacy- Best of all the Supermans hopefully
Etc!
