This games feels like a mini-recreation of WW1.
The Republic of France starts out displaying too much elan, and takes a beating of epic proportions. Only hangs on by a sliver, and with the help of some team mates, blasts it's way to victory through caution, tenacity and massive amounts of artillery fire.
I had to read your comment twice because I thought you were talking about WW2 at first lol. We all know that during WW2 France folded like a house of cards and never got back up lol. Thankfully it had a couple of friends who liberate it and go on to defeat Germany.

@@mississippirebel1409 The French Resistance and the Free French Forces would disagree. I would imagine the French 2nd Armoured Division that fought from Normandy through to Germany, spearheaded the liberation of Paris and were the first unit to reach Hitler's Eagles Nest would disagree quite vociferously.
The French were absolutely pounded and would not have survived without the help of their allies, but to claim they never got back up is simply not true. The French Resistance alone proves that the French, while bloodied, were never truly knocked down in the first place.

@@Randallator966 A citadel is both a citadel ribbon and a pen. Since it needs to pen to citadel. that was changed like a year or so ago.

Since this is my replay, id like to clarify something.
I was talking with my Divmate about the ability of the yoshino to theoretically citadel every cruiser at any range it can fire, and tabbed out to fact check on that 3rd party website i always forget the name of.
While doing that and taking the occasional pot shot i eventually realized HOLY SHIT IM WAY TOO CLOSE. And thats how that went.
Also the Brindisi wasnt lucky. My div mate told me "I need that GK to blow up or im in trouble". And i answered: " Look at that brindisi, i cant just ignore him and let him get away with it".
Also as you can clearly see with the range, i do NOT have the legendary module installed, just the normal reload mod. 1 second faster reload is NOT worth 6km range.
And i paid with my life.

@@_Geghsgamer0545 Yeah but I ended up with only 3 kills or so (no kraken and whatnot) so I thought it was a tad underwhelming for Jingles... I sent him 2 other games that were spicy though. But he gets so many that the likelyhood of seeing my video is low.

I've actually spec'd for secondaries in my Repub for the most part. I love it, yeah I still flank cause going brawling turns you into a matchbox but those 12.1km secondaries helps turn the enemies into one as well.

I play strictly Co-Op, and this French behemoth is my favourite ship of the entire game. I have mine set up with a full secondary build ( Secondary Battery Mod, Manual FC for Secondaries ), and it is an absolute riot using her as a brawler. With the addition of the Mike Yankee Soxisixx flag, they’ll reach out to 12.1 km, and 17 shells of every 20 will hit the target. It’s like having a 6-inch gun cruiser and a DD and a half shooting at one target while you work over another with those 17-inch guns. Add the IFHE captain skill, and she’s the bane of destroyers before they can get into torpedo range. Her AA suite is also one of the best at her tier, just behind Montana in terms of DPS output.

You get worse vertical dispersion with velocities that high in a battleship though, which is why I still prefer USN superheavy AP

I have to say what I really apprécie about the Might Jingles is the way in ouich he shows what the gameuplay is like for différents nations in the games. Ceci really gives us a merveilleuse view on tous the different métas qui composent le game, rather qu'un youtuber qui would montrer uniquement des videos on one nation. C'est vraiment super de pouvoir voir tous les différents navires de la Marine nationale avec un commentaire anglais!

One somewhat interesting quirk of the French turtleback scheme is that it has a much steeper angle of the internal sloped plate somewhat altering which shell impact angles are more likely to slam through it. It's actually less vulnerable to plunging fire compared to the Germans but far more vulnerable to flatter trajectories from what I can tell, another reason why taking it into a brawl is a pretty bad idea aside from the 32mm plating everywhere since you can rely on your turtleback to consistently reject citadel hits with the kind of flat ballistics ships get at those angles

Well, considering how long this channel has been publishing daily videos, 5 French ones in a row was bound to happen eventually.
This week's video selection with the assistance of Ian over at Forgotten Weapons...
French WWII AP ammo were the most streamlined shells used, at 5-caliber-lengths. Not used in this game, but they also had a unique (until the British copied it -- "K" shell upgrade -- after some French warships escaped to Britain) dye-bag system in their large-caliber AP shells' noses: The US and Japanese just had dyes that colored the splash of the shell so that the various ships on their side could tell who was shooting at what enemy without mixing up the splashes and missing shots, but it only worked during the day in good weather (radar kind of replaced this, but not until it was improved enough to see your own gun shell splashes) -- they had colored tracers on their shells, too, which helped somewhat at night, but still was difficult to see in bad weather. The French said to hell with that rot, we are going to use a bigger dye bag and put the nose fuze and booster for a large-caliber HE shell in the windscreen (had nothing to do with the shell's internal impact explosive fuzing) so when it hit the water or the enemy ship (another failing in US/Japanese dye bags, since they would show nothing if they got a direct hit, which is kind of backward), the nose fuze would explode, creating a large instantaneous colored flash and smoke cloud that was visible even in rather bad weather and worked at night and with direct hits. It required a specially-reinforced, long windscreen, but they were going for streamlined shells anyway.

It's part of Jingles' French Citizenship requirements. France always on strike somehow, he figured the salt might be of better quality other there.
I use an almost full secondary build sans manual secondary skill and engage medium to long range and flank when I can. Having those beefed up secondary batteries comes in handy when a DD gets caught out within range of them because I can usually just ignore him and let the secondary's take him out.

Incorrect at 8:13 4 shells hit that did penetration damage another 4 hit the citadel; that means all 8 shells hit the salem lol!
no, each time you hit the citadel it counts as a penetration. Because the penetration ribbon is for the shells connecting and the Citadel was the result of the penetration. They changed it a while back. so only 4 shells hit and they all went into the citadel.

french ships are actually pretty good, should i even say very very good, I only have the Lyon and Normandie (since I love battleships, and bloody hell I love both, I even kept my Normandie after I got the Lyon, Quick ships, semi-decent armor, and guns lots if them especially Lyon, though small caliber than other BBs.

Jingles a GK is more accurate than a republique in terms of dispersion. It's a minor difference and they got buffed 1-2 patches ago but it's still a difference.
