The WWI-vintage Nevada-class was a pair of super-dreadnoughts (the Nevada and the Oklahoma), both launched in 1912. The Nevada was refloated, participated in a number of shore bombardments during the war (including D-Day), and was eventually sunk during a post-war nuclear weapons test. Just two comments on this: As a person currenlty leveling a Farragut, I can say that the division thing was probably a coincidence. Depending on time of day, I've been put in anything from a Tier V to a Tier IX battle and do my best to survive. Second, as my other leveling items are a Pensacola, a Dallas and a Colorado, I can say that the Georgia is truly horrifying to deal with. I met one in when I was grinding rep for my Colorado's range upgrade, we were 4 ships against one of these things, me, a New Mexico, a Schors and a Maas. It killed almost everything with secondary fires and even though I tried bow-tanking its shots, I was down three quarters HP from 3 salvos, straight through the front of the ship. Having recently moved to the Colorado and seeing it as an improvement over the New Mexico, it felt like all the time spent leveling it had been for nothing, you feel like you're made of wet kitchen-towels. In the end, I took a page out of the Japanese way of dealing with unwinnable scenarios, and figured if I was going to die, might as well make it easier for the rest of the Team, so I just rammed the thing and we both blew up. I think if the only way to kill one of these if by literally throwing another ship at it, it might be a bit overpowered. Or maybe it's because we were lower Tiered, but still...
You can't be put in a Tier IX game as a Farragut unless you're divisioned up with a Tier VII or higher. That's why it's a bad idea to be a division across tiers: the matchmaker always assumes all ships in the division are the highest tier.
@@mjxw To be honest, the biggest change I noticed was that, when using Camo or Flags, I was always put in games where I was the lowest Tier, compared to just running the ship blank. I thought it was related to that somehow... Ever since that, I've just been grinding the XP as a generic, white DD, and now regret having bought the permanent Camo for it :(
@@mjxw The thing is, I thought it was just a coincidence, but around Christmas I stayed at my Mom's place for the holidays and my brother saw me playing the game. At first he made fun of it (he's a DotA, LoL and SC2 player) since I was playing the Colorado and it looked to him like the entire game was agonizingly slow and drawn out. As a joke, I sent him an invite and now he's at Tier 7 with the Russian and German Cruisers... I'm not even there with my own and I've been playing since early November :( Anyways, he had fun up until around Tier 6 when he bought his own Camos, and without me ever bringing it up, one day he complained how, instead of things getting a bit easier, he kept being put in high-tier games for no apparent reason. He farms missions a lot too, and he started using the flags as well, and same thing. One evening, we Divisioned up at Tier 6 in various combinations (both of us Cruisers, or me in a BB or DD), and out of 12 games in a row, 9 of them we were put in Tier 8, twice in Tier 7 and only once in a mostly Tier 6 with a couple of 7s. We repeated this a few days in a row and consistently were put in high-tier matches, even if we played something like 5 games a night or 20. I'm not saying there's some explicit mechanic behind it, could be just some enormous bad luck, but just going by logic, it looks to me like there's a noticeably higher chance of being put in a higher tier when using anything on the ship, and it doesn't look to be related to the ship type either.
ok, no point in sailing my Georgia today, I will hold mourning for all the fingers broken by pressing the F key to Ahsakas back for carrying his team that far
The entire time Osaka was maneuvering and shooting on the right flank there were shots arcing over from his left...the only source could have been the Seatle right? what else could it have been?
Another note about Georgia's guns- they have decent accuracy to begin with, but like with the Iowa, you can also mount the unique American upgrade "artillery plotting room mod 2" which tightens up that dispersion even more. Given there's only six of them, it's a good idea to do so.
Bounus: You can take secondary batt mod and that together, since there is not aim mod 1 on USN BB Result is excellent secondary range with excellent main batt accuracy
I was thinking about sending a replay where I took the Nurmemburg up the middle on standard battle to cap while taking no damage, but I don't think it would measure up after watching this.
"Don't worry, nobody is going to do anything stupid like sailing up the middle.." ... Somebody needs to watch The Master of the Middle Mr. Flambass more often! With his tactics even mid-range players like myself can pull it off! :P
Seattle knows that teamwork is essential as it gives the enemy something to shoot at. He was planning on being a decoy (IMO the new orleans ship [not player] is only good as a decoy).
Hi Jingles I am new to the game and was wondering I see a lot of players doing nothing until the end is there some benfit to sitting back and watching and being the last player alive?
Also, it'd be real nice if divisioning up with ships in your same MM spread wasn't fail-divisioning. Can't WG just make sure that they wind up in battles they'd all normally wind up in anyway?
Definitely a good gameplay by the player as he is not only a "I have money so I can join in any tier game player" but an experienced one but to be fair there were 2 T6 and a lot of T7 ships in the game which makes the damage output and kills not that impressive as you even overmatch BBs easily... But still very solid gameplay. Congrats.
So if someone from your team gets in the cap with you, and due to their poorer concealment, he is constantly being reset, this further increases your capping time. I did not know this so thanks for the heads up. Problem is most players will not know this, and so will continue to lemming into the cap, and it takes too long to inform them in chat to stay out - in fact they will undoubtedly think you just want all the capping experience for yourself and are just being a selfish teammate.
In a perfect world... people like that Seattle player would have a brick of C4 strapped to their head and wired to the end of match results screen. A lack of judgment and critical thinking of that caliber is rarely reserved for just their in-game actions. It would be doing mankind as a whole a service.
5:45 I don't really understand this. I could fire AP at a broadside Fiji at that kind of range while playing Scharnhorst, and almost every single hit is an overpen. It doesn't seem to matter if they hit forward, aft, or dead center, high, at the waterline, or just below the waterline. The last one is really questionable, since the water should slow the shell enough that if it pens, it should NOT be an overpen. I feel like I have no way of reliably punishing broadside cruisers. Are all these videos I see on this channel where the player is able to get multiple devastating strikes just cases of extremely good luck? Do the overwhelming majority of BB shell impacts result in overpens, even on comparably small guns?
Really Jingles? BB-15 a Nevada class? I know all the standards by memory, and I knew that, 1) there was no Georgia among them, and 2) that BB-15 is way too low a hull number for the standards. So I looked it up, and it was actually a West Virginia class pre-dreadnought.
This gives me a whole new perspective on this battleship. Terrifying as hell if played correctly! If this thing had torpedoes, it would make the Tier 7 Scharnhorst in her own tier look like a little chew toy!
Now that I have started playing WoWs, I dread the day when Jingles has a video of me in it. "Here's a window licker that needs to be burned to the waterline..."

Another note about Georgia's guns- they have decent accuracy to begin with, but like with the Iowa, you can also mount the unique American upgrade "artillery plotting room mod 2" which tightens up that dispersion even more. Given there's only six of them, it's a good idea to do so.
Bounus:
You can take secondary batt mod and that together, since there is not aim mod 1 on USN BB
Result is excellent secondary range with excellent main batt accuracy
Coolest kraken ever? What about the one you showed where it was all secondary kills? Jingles?
Jingles?
Haven't played Two Bros for AGES. Shame, love that map. Great game! Thanks Jingles.
I was thinking about sending a replay where I took the Nurmemburg up the middle on standard battle to cap while taking no damage, but I don't think it would measure up after watching this.
jingles did you ever use your creative language in any of your navy writing?
That was the most amazing matchmaking in history for a Tier 9 BB
Thank you
Just realized that Captain Jingles’ narration is not present in today’s video
Heck I'm lucky if I crack 20 thousand damage in my Georgia. Well played sir well played.
Jingles pls do an Italian replay for us
Thanks Jingles
Ok, those were some seriously impressive results.
Absolutely No one:
Jingles: WELL BOYS AND GIRLS!!!!
"Don't worry, nobody is going to do anything stupid like sailing up the middle.." ... Somebody needs to watch The Master of the Middle Mr. Flambass more often! With his tactics even mid-range players like myself can pull it off! :P
"About as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike" lol, I gotta use that one
Do you think they will ever include the german H44?
I thought FDG was an H44?
The secondaries are strong in this one.
Seattle knows that teamwork is essential as it gives the enemy something to shoot at.
He was planning on being a decoy (IMO the new orleans ship [not player] is only good as a decoy).
jingles you stole my saying lol, about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, you may also like about as much use as a chocolate fireguard :D
where to look at for that ranking of how much damage dealt with a ship?
When will they put the "Tillman" Battleships in the game?
Are you ever going to do any videos on wows legends now it's released? They just added the rest of the British cruiser line
This reminds me of working in a busy kitchen!
A couple of weeks ago I went up the middle in a tier 7 game with 3 tier 5 Battleships and a Soviet Destroyer.
We won
Hi Jingles I am new to the game and was wondering I see a lot of players doing nothing until the end is there some benfit to sitting back and watching and being the last player alive?
Also, it'd be real nice if divisioning up with ships in your same MM spread wasn't fail-divisioning. Can't WG just make sure that they wind up in battles they'd all normally wind up in anyway?
Hi Jingles what's Thunder like do you have a video on it?
Definitely a good gameplay by the player as he is not only a "I have money so I can join in any tier game player" but an experienced one but to be fair there were 2 T6 and a lot of T7 ships in the game which makes the damage output and kills not that impressive as you even overmatch BBs easily... But still very solid gameplay. Congrats.
THat game was amazing to watch. I love playing BBS and love getting in close.
1.2 million credits well earned.
I think from what I have seen, the Georgia is one of the most underrated American BB's.
With Osaka having such a high damage count, I was wondering what the highest damage in any and all ships.
Two kills were basically stolen at the end, so really 10 kills. Nice carry! Great job!
I go up the middle in this map all the time and have great success. I use a destroyer or the Atlanta.
In a perfect world... people like that Seattle player would have a brick of C4 strapped to their head and wired to the end of match results screen. A lack of judgment and critical thinking of that caliber is rarely reserved for just their in-game actions. It would be doing mankind as a whole a service.
When you say Rear Admiral, is it the Upper or lower half?
There's always some kid who tries to pass his wishes off as tactical mastery...
Actually, Jingles, the USS Georgia was a Virginia-class pre-dreadnought. The Nevadas were superdreadnoughts.
RNG mate.
It's shite but it's the way it is unfortunately.
;-)
Hi guys, is there a way to get the jingles captain?
3:00 Wrong, even an ashtray on a motorbike is more useful when it's not moving.
Gneisenau accuracy is much better now than when it first came out so I am not shaking my head
Jingles, wasn't BB-15 a Virginia-class, not a Nevada-class?
Really Jingles? BB-15 a Nevada class? I know all the standards by memory, and I knew that, 1) there was no Georgia among them, and 2) that BB-15 is way too low a hull number for the standards. So I looked it up, and it was actually a West Virginia class pre-dreadnought.
Why doesn't Gneisenau have the guns that it actually had? Nine 11-inch guns in three triple turrets.
That udeloi was crucial I’d say
maybe one day i'll be featured and join the legends like this guy in the Georgia. Best i did was in my Montana
This gives me a whole new perspective on this battleship. Terrifying as hell if played correctly! If this thing had torpedoes, it would make the Tier 7 Scharnhorst in her own tier look like a little chew toy!
