it's a known issue on PC(It's the same issue on the PS4 copy of the game) and was fixed by "SSE Fixes" or "SSE Engine Fixes", the reason is due to a oversight in the game engine, there's a nested loop of logic that locks a mutex every frame, this drastically lowers framerate, they just never fixed on the PS4 version of the game, but was apparently somewhat fixed in the switch version of the game. I haven't gotten my hands on the native PS5 copy of the game to confirm it exists inside it or not, however nothing can be done to avoid it besides not using mods as it's a engine issue not a mod issue.
Sorry for the late reply; your comment is very interesting. Thanks. I’m not a coder but not only would it be interesting to know if that issue is fixed on the native PS5 version but also the patched PS4 version running on the PS5 - which also targets 60fps. Cheers!
I'm the author of at least one of these mods that you used for testing, if you ever considered doing this test again I can help you curate a much larger load order than that and it probably won't cost you any performance, It's really more about being selective and knowing which ones have issues under the hood. Just let me know, would be happy to assist.
Hi. Thanks for the offer. You have a lot of great mods you've made or ported! I like your point that a large mod list isn't a problem but making sure people select mods that don't have issues is key, which seems like an important message to get across in a video. I am thinking of making a similar video for Skyrim on Xbox but I have not begun working on it yet. Having said that, I notice most of your mods are for PlayStation so an option would be to make a Part 2 of the PS5 video showing how stable it can be with 'even more mods!'. So yes, I'd appreciate your help making a decent load mod list/load order. That'd be great. Feel free to email me and we can chat. My email can be found in my channel. Cheers!
I'm still on my PS4 PRO and using SSD gave it a new life, but I'm wondering... Game is forcing 4k, so does the PS4 pro gets loud with Skyrim? I played the game on release on my x360 at the time, but I'm thinking of playing it again, and if the fan is loud I will not do it. Second... is using modes, disables PSN trophies? Thanx
Hi. Yes using any mod will disable trophies unfortunately. PS4 Pro does run it in 4K. I don’t specifically remember the console’s fan running loud but I’d guess the PS4 Pro is working quite hard to generate 4K so you would probably notice the extra noise. Cheers 👍
@@ramnexus OK, yeah... I will replay it when I upgrade to PS5 or PS5 pro. Def not forcing this. Playing Kingdom Come Deliverance at the moment and its great.
City of Kings is very impressive! The only mod I had problems with was “Immersive Citizens”. Almost had to exclude it as it caused crashes. I think it had to do with load order. I did spend some time reading up on recommended load orders which I think helped get all those mods working.

Did you have any crashes while testing with your load order I have never had any luck with city of Kings
