Hello! I am the one who commissioned this. It really does have a powerful feeling. At times, it feels like a dream. Other times, it truly does feel like the battle I would imagine in my head. It truly does manage to sound like a clash between two series so far from eachother and it simultaneously has a new and nostalgic air about it. I truly couldn't have asked for a better person to do this matchup. As for who wins, I don't really sweat that stuff. Both series are so over the top and ridiculous in different ways, so I just like to imagine that regardless of who wins, it'll be an intense fight from start to finish. What's really important to me is how much character this track has and it more than delivers. Thank you very much!

The son of the strongest demon vs. the strongest swordsman in the galaxy. No matter who wins, this fight would be legendary.
Meta knight seeks out nova and wishes to fight the stringest warrior in the galaxy, but instead of galacta knight, a storm approaches.

Fight start writes itself. Vergil makes a portal to Dreamland, Meta Knight sees him come out of the portal, and challenges him to a fight.
Meta is already used to fighting warriors from other worlds emerging from portals, beit Galacta Knight, or other Nintendo characters in Smash. He'd just do what comes natural to him.
He probably looks like the colossal titan to everyone on Popstar. (Kirby is 8 inches tall, Vergil is 77)
Except more terrifying given that he does not look anything like the inhabitants

Ending: Vergil, exhausted and out of his Sin Devil Trigger and Meta Knight, tired and his mask broken, do one final slash, with the winner placing the sword of the loser on the ground as a memorial to their worthy opponent before they leave, with Meta Knight using his cape to disappear (like when you defeat Meta Knight in a boss fight) or Vergil using Yamato to make a portal out of Dreamland as he walks away.
@@Aaa-vp6ug That happens in a spar between Meta Knight and Kirby. In a fight to the death, he'd likely continue to fight even if his mask is split.

At 1:17 I’m imagining Meta Knight flying around the battlefield while Vergil is on the ground trying to Judgement Cut him out of the air, but a couple of the cuts catch the camera and that’s what’s distorting the sound.
That’s actually pretty funny, I imagine Dante getting p-£(:ed at Vergil for it, then Vergil smacking him for it
For who wins,depending on how you scale Vergil and Meta Knight,Vergil either wins with some difficulty,sweeps or dies horribly

The best part of this matchup is something I don't think most people even consider. They both have attacks that involve freezing their surroundings with a slash: Judgment Cut End and Galaxia Darkness.
Now, the question remains.
Does Vergil win because of his experience in fighting foes similar to Meta Knight,
Or does Meta Knight win due to his experience fighting and winning against foes arguably stronger than Vergil?
Depends in what you scale both of them. I see meta knight taking the speed and durability advantage though.

ik this is late but
metaknight wins due to being older, more experienced, faster, stronger and being more durable. Virgil does have the hax advantage but he's so much slower than metaknight it doesn't mean much
Ah god, that somber ending at the end with the guitar is so good. It's perfect for what I'd want from the fight
The biggest factor in this fight is the following: does Vergil actually scale people who can literally destroy planets themselves, sure their reaction times are on par, but it also depends on how powerful their opponents were, not only that, but by the looks of it, most of meta Knight's toughest opponents can literally destroy planets
Also, he lived a black hole, and Meta Knight wins on speed alone, traveling across the whole galaxy in seconds.
And he scales to Kirby, the thing that launched a meteor, one that is FIFTEEN lightyears across at that, 9999 light years , through 8 “planets” (giant rocks that should be sub galaxies due to mass) and Meta Knight’s strength is comparable to that. {Speed and strength taken from Smash Bracket, Kirby vs Jigglypuff} {durability taken from Dedede vs Wario by Death Battle}
Vergil’s more screwed than when a Warrior Princess fought a literal hunk of plastic. Not as screwed as when Super Friends Aquaman (the one everyone jokes about) fought SpongeBob, Universe’s End, Armageddon, The One True Creator. (Yes, I know about God, the last one is a title)
Vergil is unironically complex multiversal. He wins.

This fight sounds awesome until you remember that Meta Knight is canonically about 8 inches tall.
Kirby can break planets despite being 8 inches tall, so size definitely DOESN'T matter and this fight would still be awesome despite that.

Two of my favourite swordies in all of video games. I love them.but I never thought of them clashing together.
Truly one of the matchups ever to be made.
Altho it does give a pretty interesting combination of series for the track. And damn that combination sounds cool in a lot of parts.
Like, holy crap that start using Bury The Light's intro but edited to sound more "distorted" at the ends of the riffs is so damn cool, and the way it's completed by much calmer but very "mysterious" guitar strums at 0:38 is extremely nice. That's one hell of a song intro if I may say so.
On that note, I quite the Bury The Light motifs in the rest of the song such as at 1:15. Again the way it uses a "distorted" version of Bury The Light's guitar is extremely unique sounding and just sounds really cool overall in addition to fitting the matchup too as Vergil would probably be quite weirded out by an opponent such as Meta Knight so his attacks wouldn't be as accurate, reflected into the song with the "distorted" strums of guitar. I think this is actually reinforced by the fact that it's only twice heard again, once at 2:07 where it's followed by a segment that notably feels like Meta Knight has the advantage with a very orchestral-sounding part and the end of the song where both would give out their all, resulting in Vergil once again being destabilized by Meta Knight's abilities.
On a similar note, I quite like the mixing of Kirby's more orchestral music to represent Meta Knight and the heavier metal parts to represent Vergil. Both are clearly discernable at most points in the song *except* when it's clearly wanted to get both to mix together to represent a duel on even grounds. Of course given both franchises' OSTs are extremely different, it's not too hard to make them discernable from one another. But I'd say that also means it's harder to make them sound good together and here it actually sounds good for most of the song (altho I'll note some moments like at 1:29-1:53 where it does sound a tiny bit weird to have such heroic bits but it's a minor nitpick) so that's quite nice.
Overall I'll admit I didn't expect much from the song aside from some great inclusion of Bury the Light. And while it of course delivered there, it also made for quite an interesting mix of two very different franchises' OSTs that does sound actually really nice at times (IE: 2:39-3:17 which I honestly thought was gonna be the song's climax when I first listened to it). Oh also, I rarely mention it but that track art is particularly great I'll admit. Either way, great work with this.

This doesnt need much to say, this already speaks out. Congrats Therewolf
Man, the Eerie yet cosmic feeling at the beginning, the slow change to a more grittier rock, then to a more smooth guitar transition with powerful notes laid throughout this song just plays out for these 2 so well.
And the Art with Meta-Knight’s mask and the Yamato’s space cuts, with Kirby planets throughout it looks really well done.
Plus the fact Vergil wins is just kino on top.
How? From what I've seen Meta Knight blitzes and is way stronger. He crossed the galaxy in seconds and can generally keep up with Kirby and Galacta Knight in raw power, who both have planet-level feats, if not higher. Maybe I missed something, but last I checked nothing in DMC comes even close to that.
@@masedaace5473 DMC Peak of Combat, chronologically takes places between 3 and 1, Dante fights Pluto and Void Mundus, Pluto can bypass the time stream through sheer speed alone- an Immeasurable speed feat, and Dante with the Book of Demons gets all the power of the Demons he fights, Void Mundus is an Alternate Mundus that beat Sparda and merged the Realms, a Uni+ to Low Multi feat.

@@masedaace5473 most of Vergil’s stuff comes from scaling to Dante, but yeah- DMC has always had Universal stuff since 1, people are just in disagreement about it because most of its stuff is lore. Otherwise Urizen’s clash with with Dante was said to shake the Earth in the DMC 5 novel- specifically differentiated “Earth” from “ground”.
Dante fighting with Mundus in his new universe was calc’d up to 9.8 million C, making said Universe was 667 Quadrillion C, Argosax’s movements being described as “Transcending time and space” for another Infinite feat. And it was calc’d how fast the Rippers in Peak of Combat would be if the universes were considered our size (even though they’re stated to be infinite, a lot of people see that in contention)- about 9.6 to 76 Unvigintillion C (that’s 60 Zeros)

While the track is cool I find myself laughing at the mental image of Vergil getting into a sword fight with Meta Knight due to the difference in size. Not that that's a reason for Meta Knight to struggle or anything it's just an amusing image.

The Problem I had with the meta knight vs riku track on Brandon's channel was that it didn't really fit the characters in my opinion, I really hope we get atleast one second of a Spanish guitar in this along with some headbanger

Mainly because Vergil's best feats are speed, durability and his sword, and Meta Knight has him beat in all three (ftsound/ftlight; regen/durability that tanks a planetburster regularly; "cuts through anything" and gets blocked by a rocket launcher/sword made with the express purpose of killing demons). It is such a roflstomp i actually feel kinda bad for Vergil lmao.
