  • Today I’m going to show you a great way to eat cooked octopus: as tenderly cooked slices served with a nutty sesame dipping sauce. This is the traditional Korean style to eat octopus, called Muneo-sukhoe (문어숙회). Full recipe: www.maangchi.com/recipe/muneo-...

    Maangchi, you reminded me of my dream from adolescence! I want to travel to Nice soon and create an amazing dish using local ingredients and seafood from a lovely place like France. I could speak French well in high school and now, I will learn more and travel to Nice soon. It's what I want to do! Thank you.

    What wonderful octopus, and you cleaned it and washed it and cooked it to perfection, and with that rose wine from Nice.... what more can you want or need??? Plus the church bells, the view.... oh my goodness, it made us all very envious. I make the octopus with a home made garlic mayonnaise and lemon juice, delicious!!! ❤

    Lovely recipe as always 😋!! I tried Octopus for the 1st time yesterday and it was terrific. It was almost overshadowed by shrimp so I had left over Octopus and it was just as good. Officially a fan! Completely different from Squid aka Calamari. But still just as great 👍 😌 🙃.

    Maangchi i live in the northwest of Spain ,athlantic ocean, and octopus IS a tipycal dish here. We don,t use salt even de don.t use it in boiling Water, we left the octopus for eight days Frozen then we boiled it with only water and a onion nothing else. we cut off the mouth and eyes and clean inside the head as you teach us. Times!!!! Oh my god some people says 25 others 40 minutes well it depends if you use a fastpot or not. Then we cut it as you did it, and put Olive oil, salt and pimentón pepperpowder, i don.t know the right name. I love your recipe well i love all you do and your actittude and accent. i just realise that we and korean people share a similar traditional cuisine. thanks you are a lovely person.

    The way you cleaned and cooked it was just perfect!
    Is it okay to freeze the cooked octopus for later use?

    • @Maangchi
      @Maangchi  7 років тому +10

      www.maangchi.com/recipe/muneo-sukhoe
      Keep leftovers in the fridge for a week or freeze them for up to 1 month.To freeze, divide the octopus into whatever portions you want, then wrap each portion in plastic and freeze. When you want to to eat some, take out a portion and let it thaw out a bit, which will make it easier to slice. Then serve with the dipping sauce.
