- Today I’m going to show you a great way to eat cooked octopus: as tenderly cooked slices served with a nutty sesame dipping sauce. This is the traditional Korean style to eat octopus, called Muneo-sukhoe (문어숙회). Full recipe: www.maangchi.com/recipe/muneo-...

Maangchi, you reminded me of my dream from adolescence! I want to travel to Nice soon and create an amazing dish using local ingredients and seafood from a lovely place like France. I could speak French well in high school and now, I will learn more and travel to Nice soon. It's what I want to do! Thank you.
Your message makes me want to revisit Nice!
eating octopus and drinking rose out on a balcony in South of France...goals right there!
D4DANA and having sex on the balcony is my goal

You know Maangchi is a pro when she can touch and turn the octopus in boiling water!
You can touch boiling water if you do it fast
naaah if you are a cook you can deal with hot stuff more longer than a normal person.. like i do, i always cook so i can endure heat from hot oil
Woomy not bragging its actually true i cook a lot so i can do the same ur body gets use to it
j e p u l i s dude stfu and stop using emojis Jesus Christ
j e p u l i s just saying your comebacks don't offend me lol it just shows how salty u are
I love the fact that no matter where Maangchi goes, she always brings her own toasted sesame seeds and makes delicious Korean dishes out of local produces! 😉
:') for some reason, seeing the octopus so clean really pleased me
I've never actually seen an octopus cleaned and cooked from scratch. Thank you for showing the details!

I tried it in Spain with Olive oil. It was perfect ! Thanks Maangchi for this delicious recipe and Welcome to France. Come to Strasbourg it is a beautiful city.
Olive oil tastes very strong, i strongly recommend using sesame oil. It gives the octopus the special flavour.
Taion Parker I will taste for sure but I really like the flavor of olive oil. I'm not used to eat sesame oil so can't imagine the taste. I need to try it.
SeriousFox Thank you :)

What wonderful octopus, and you cleaned it and washed it and cooked it to perfection, and with that rose wine from Nice.... what more can you want or need??? Plus the church bells, the view.... oh my goodness, it made us all very envious. I make the octopus with a home made garlic mayonnaise and lemon juice, delicious!!! ❤
You are so awesome because your comment makes me feel so happy! Garlic mayo sauce sounds good! It's mixture of mayonnaise, squeezed lemon, and a little bit of mince garlic?
Maangchi exactly. But certainly I am going to try it with your sauce, yummy yummy. Lots of kisses, YOU are awsome,,,
Maangchi bye and bon apetit!!
Maangchi bon apetit mmmmm miah
Keep coming back to this, just to check that I’m cooking the octopus right
Vietnamese caption was submitted by one of my viewers! Thank you very much!
Maangchi Hi, If i were to make this dish do you have to use octopus? Because My daughter and I are allergic to octopus.
Rachel Letaba you can use squid, maybe🤔
Maangchi thanks for Vietnamese subtitle 😍 In my country(Vietnam), we usually eat octopus with "salt with lemon pepper" sauce.
I just want ask how many houses do u jave around the world? Bcuz i just noticed in all ur videos ur in different houses.
Maangchi you are so cool
I would never have thought of using sesame oil in this way, as a dipping sauce for octopus; but now I have seen it here, and I trust your recipes, I have to give it a try. Like all your other recipes I have tried, I'm sure it will be fabulous!
Thank you for trusting my recipe. Yes, the sesame oil sauce is traditionally served with sliced octopus in Korea. Check out the written recipe here. www.maangchi.com/recipe/muneo-sukhoe
Thanks Maangchi, widely shared!

I got the shivers while watching😂
Octopus creeps me out, especially when you were cleaning it, but it's fascinating to watch how it is prepared. Maybe one day I'll find the courage to try some.
don’t, seafood besides fish is dirty for your body it is unclean food
@@blackwidow4759 What the fuck are you talking about. WHO WOULD EVEN NOT CLEAN SEAFOODS? LIKE EVERY SEAFOOD WE ATE ARE BEING CLEANED
If its cooked right it is soooooo soo good. If you get the chance to try this particular octopus dish do it! The thin slices keep it from being rubbery and the sauce is amazing
It starts off like a salty rubberband then slowly melts in your mouth like a buttery steak.
When cooked correctly oh my gosh
wow! nice year-end in france
ochikeron , Hey I love your channel too. It is amazing seeing you here. 👍😍

Thai caption was submitted by PB Hobby (UA-cam channel)! Thank you so much!
I started my channel because of you hoping to do something other than work!
Thank you for giving me inspiration.
PB Hobby can you help me with Thai? I have a short script and am looking for a narrator.
Kid Chef send me message for detail
what I respect about your channel is you get dirty when you cook.
Sometimes cooking is ugly.....
But you always find a way to bring it around and incorporate more then just Korea when you can.
:)
Happy New Year

Lovely recipe as always 😋!! I tried Octopus for the 1st time yesterday and it was terrific. It was almost overshadowed by shrimp so I had left over Octopus and it was just as good. Officially a fan! Completely different from Squid aka Calamari. But still just as great 👍 😌 🙃.
Wonderful! 👏
This video was beautifully made! I love the scenery at the end!
Thank you, Maangchi! I wasn't afraid to cook octopus, but I didn't know how to chop it up! My husband is looking forward to the distinctive chop chop chop sounds of your videos every week!

Who knew watching an octopus being cleaned can be so satisfying?? Thanks for the video Maangchi! Your meal with Nice in the background looks lovely!
Maangchi i live in the northwest of Spain ,athlantic ocean, and octopus IS a tipycal dish here. We don,t use salt even de don.t use it in boiling Water, we left the octopus for eight days Frozen then we boiled it with only water and a onion nothing else. we cut off the mouth and eyes and clean inside the head as you teach us. Times!!!! Oh my god some people says 25 others 40 minutes well it depends if you use a fastpot or not. Then we cut it as you did it, and put Olive oil, salt and pimentón pepperpowder, i don.t know the right name. I love your recipe well i love all you do and your actittude and accent. i just realise that we and korean people share a similar traditional cuisine. thanks you are a lovely person.
i forgot to tell you that un the past sailors and people hit the octopus against a rock un the beach to Cook it un the same day that IS why we put it in the freezer nowadays
That's so interesting! Thank you so much and Happy New Year!
MaríaC PP Pulpo gallego? lol
Happy New Year Mangchi. Thank you so much for posting your wonderful videos, I have tried to make bulgabi and cabbage kimchi for Christmas party. It turned out to be really really good. I love you and so my family.
Awesome! Good luck with your Korean cooking!
Oh my gosh!! Everything you make looks so freakin good!! ❤️
I now know how to clean and cook octopus! I've been putting it off for a long time now. Thanks for sharing this video to us Maangchi!
make me a bowl, looks delicious
The way you cleaned and cooked it was just perfect!
Is it okay to freeze the cooked octopus for later use?
www.maangchi.com/recipe/muneo-sukhoe
Keep leftovers in the fridge for a week or freeze them for up to 1 month. To freeze, divide the octopus into whatever portions you want, then wrap each portion in plastic and freeze. When you want to to eat some, take out a portion and let it thaw out a bit, which will make it easier to slice. Then serve with the dipping sauce.
I could watch you all day. Nice
with you cleaning the octopus, I'm less afraid to try this and prepare on my own. Lovely scenery!
