Fernando Torres was truly one of the best when he was in Liverpool. I really did like him a lot and even tho he lost a lot of respect from me and others when he joined Chelsea i still think he was the best PL striker at that time and even today maybe only Lewa could compere to him. He was TOP TOP CLASS. (Arsenal fan)
We can only imagine how well would this prime Fernando Torres do in our current Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp. He'd most probably have a 'more goals than games' ratio based on how capable that squad is at creating so much goalscoring chances.

Fernando Torres's heading ability is criminally underrated. He's not really a powerheader like Drogba or C. Ronaldo but he's so brilliant at 'finessing' the ball with his head to steer it past the keeper and into the net. Just look at these goals for example 15:30 17:38 18:52 Top top lad, truly miss him. YNWA

Everyone talking about Torres and rightly so but what about Alonso and mascherano. They could have been in the team until about 2015/16 and out midfield would look unbeatable
Alonso was one of the best play-making midfielders of the time, he would easily fit in to LFC now with the counter style they play, he could knock the ball onto a penny anywhere on the pitch.
Of the players fielded this season, Mascherano's departure was the most painful for me. IMO, he was irreplaceable. We've never been able to find another one like him, until Fabinho appeared.

Because we had Voronin and Rafa screwed up by letting Alonso leave because he was interested in Gareth Barry and also the mancs had arguably their greatest team of all time in that period
That period with Rafa between 05-09, I fucking loved that team. Such a shame we never managed to win a premier league with that squad.

I was kind of mystified when Yossi was sold to Chelsea. I thought he was outstanding for us in his time at Liverpool.
He wanted the move and the club had no money.

Pepe Reina was still at his peak too. Can't believe we won nothing with this team. Imagine what Klopp would've done with them.

I think this was Riise's last season. I remember how unfit he looked that year and was clearly a shadow of his former self. One of my favourite ever Liverpool players, but it kinda sucked he never scored a PL goal in his last season, but will be remembered for the OG vs Chelsea in the Champions League instead.
I'll always remember the good things he did at Anfield. It's a shame though that others will remember the og instead.

When you realize that Voronin score some goals for us and that he wore no. 10 😂😂 Seriously, Gerrard and Torres were unplayable at that time. Still can't figure out how come we didn't win the title over 30 years. With all of that quality players we had over the years it feels kinda unthinkable.
We had a bang average bench at that time
Not to mention Mascherano and Alonso along with Gerrard in midfield , Dirk kuyt, Ryan babel , Benayoun was also a very good player . It's a shame that we won nothing with the team from 2007 to 2009. Best squad we had under Rafa and at the time.

Yossi Benayoun is hugely underrated. He could have stayed longer had it not been for Rafa not treating him with the same respect he did others in the squad.
Watched Liverpool since 1977 and I have to say from my personal opinion Torres was my favourite striker. Fowler was fantastic but Torres scared most of not all defenders
Torres was best striker this season he had everything in his game shame about injury in 2010 which ended his career at top level . Gerrard again a amazing season too bad we draw too many games in the league but semi finals of champions league only narrowing losing to Chelsea.

Benitez was, overall, an excellent manager. But I always hated how he never celebrated our goals.
Torres was the first superstar player Liverpool purchased in the PL era. It was a coup for Liverpool at the time considering how much in demand he was
Most expensive player in UK, but he took a pay cut moving from Atletico to LFC cause he wanted to.
Actually, Fernando Torres was Liverpool's superstar. Not Atl or Clsea's. You were in his heart in a very different, very unique way

I'll be honest, I am surprised by how many goals and assists Voronin got. Always thought he was a terrible player at the time, but looking at him compared to other strikers, he was actually up there
