The electronic ignition switch/system in my sprinter camper van failed and it has been a total mission to get it sorted. This is a video about what happened and what I am going to do in the future to try and avoid repeating the experience....

Thanks for sharing this video.
But i hate benz.
Just programmed a spear key after all went successfully original stopped E350 2004.
And spear was not operating.
Couldn't figure out what was the issue until someone else removed the EIS.
and car back to normal.
Still they didn't let me know what they did!
I believe they reprogrammed the original.

Thanks for the video. We are having the same problem. The 2008 EIS is no longer available from Dodge in North America. Was the MB repair expensive?

Yes indeed. The whole process cost me about 1000 gbp, but then how much of it was because of the problems using 2 garages in the end it is difficult to judge. It's a tough call because when it breaks you have no van so fixing it is the only choice...
