Fun fact related to story 10: the saying "blood is thicker than water" very much applies if you consider the original, slightly longer version, which is "the blood of the covenant runs thicker than the water of the womb"

Except there's no actual evidence of that being anything more than something made up whole-cloth by a poet some centuries after the first iteration of the expression became a thing. In fact, there were *several* iterations that meant exactly how it's used today, before that poet came up with his "gaiz, it orijinully ment de opposite!" bullcrap.
I mean, don't get me wrong, the idea that blood relations are more important than anything is a load of crap, I 100% agree with that. If your blood relatives are a bunch of toxic, manipulative assholes, absolutely cut them out of your life. But, still, that version of the saying, meaning the opposite of what it's supposed to, was never actually a thing.

@@DaZebraffeThat’s actually very interesting. I originally bought the “original” proverb claim, but found the same as you that there’s little evidence to back it up, so thanks for the lesson

The post stating that relationships are like roads, rather than bridges, I can certainly relate to. It's how I view a lot of relationships and things in my life. They're with me for a while, but eventually, we either need to split up, or leave entirely.

3:16 Fun fact! If a contract states something that goes against what the law says, that part of the contract is considered legally null and void; and it sometimes even completely nullifies the entire contract! So, since this is *literal wage theft* that this OP is describing, they could've reported this company to the labor board, or whatever local equivalent they had.

Story 13. I can relate. My parents named my brother and I the same. My brother is a junkie thug and i got hell for it. I'm a huge nerd. I played Yu-Gi-Oh, magic the gathering, spent most of my time in the library, and was a key member of the chess club for my middle school, but people only see what they want to see. 😢😢😢.

Heard a similar story to story 3, but older woman. In short she heard that the company will laid off few people with huge chance that she will be included (cuz age) so she sprint home midwork before anyone got called and immediately took all of her 2 week paid vacation before sending resignation. I heard she landed on another good paying job so its not as bad as the story 3.

Oh boy my story has two parts. So I knew this kid (18 now yet mentally still a kid) for 4 years. me and him were practically like brothers when we met we had a shared interest in WWE games. However for 3 years with someone who we met in a Discord server gave me a chance and in toe I brought him in to meet them we played WWE games and a paltrier of other games we liked (some anime others not) however I remember this day fondly back around February 2 days before Valentine’s Day the 3 of us are playing an anime game (Sword Art Online) and take on this high level mini boss. He got stuck and was throwing a fit. Friend and I were oblivious for a while. I eventually got him unstuck from his “makeshift prison” he got himself in. Then there was an big argument that caused the friend we had to leave. Now they told me to stick with him which was a big mistake I would come to regret. because we did so much to ruin their reputation and I regretted every single thing we did. Fast forward to this past June I had gotten back in contact with that friend and started to see the cracks in the kid. Till one day I had enough and cut him off. He then tried to blame us all for it but it only resulted in him getting a bad rep. And put me in a bad mental and emotional state which leads into part two and that is that because of the manipulation and mental and emotional suffering that he put me through. I did some bad stuff and was seemingly exiled from the WWE games community and lost all respect for my peers there. yet that kid I cut off is still around in the community while I am still in exile getting the help I need to hopefully get back in and repair those bridges. ended up looking back at the first show we joined. and the website they have for it he was moved to the alumni section after making his full character return and a brief rebrand. And what’s crazier the show owner and I were in contact quite some time ago and he said that he was seeing what this kid was like now and was waiting for the right time to kick him out. Guess I will find out eventually. As for the friend who I got back into contact with they are doing their own thing while I am trying to fix the problem I created. but as for the kid that is one bridge I am glad I burned. As for the friend I burned that bridge beyond to a smoldering point but am not going to let that be my downfall. if the friend is to eventually read this I am learning my lesson as for the kid screw him

I worked at a fairly well known fast food place. It was a series of nightmares rolled into into one mess.
I stayed because it was a semi rural area and jobs weren't easy to find. I needed a paycheck. When I finally found another job, I walked out in a busy Friday night....followed by half the shift
A positive outcome from this event was I didn't eat at fast food places for almost 15 years ( I knew how the one I worked at did things, and assumed this was normal). Probably added years to my life not eating deep fried mystery meat....

My sister was my best friend then she became "friends" with that homewrecker that ruins a lot of families, Crystal M. She did something completely unforgiveable. Hopefully your sister didn't do any permanent damage and one day she'll come to see what she's done and sincerely apologize and your bridge can be mended. In the meantime, sorry for your loss.

I forget that some of these stories aren't from the US like the company that said they would withhold pay if not given two weeks notice before quitting. While a clever way to deal with it if it had been in the US one call to the labor board would have gotten you the check post haste notice or not.

Not so bad as burning bridges in the video but a guy 20 years back went a little "too friendly" trying to be my friend after I helped him with solving a technical PC issue on a forum. We met at one point and he seemed like a nice guy but his mannerisms always came off as if he wanted something and I just waited for a reason to cut him off as I didn't mind help with tech but didn't care for socializing.
He never revealed what he wanted, or maybe didn't want anything but I only wanted to help to solve the issue, not to become a BFF. I just ghosted him, I just didn't care for him and I imagine he might as well not for me.

People need to listen to and take note about the story of the large guy who was abused by a petite woman. Just because you're a big, muscular man and the woman is small doesn't mean that you can't be a victim of abuse. Men need to be taken seriously. Then they will be more likely to speak up and ask for help instead of suffering in silence.
I remember years ago watching a court TV show where a man suing his exgf claimed to be abused and even partly took off his shirt to show marks she had caused. The judge immediately was dismissive of his claims because the plaintiff was a well-built guy. I didn't understand it as a kid, but now I feel sorry for the plaintiff to be treated that way by the judge. Society has improved some since then about recognizing that men can be abuse victims too, but it's still far short from where it should be.

My mother, everything she did was somehow justified, always my fault. She will sqaure up on me having about a hundred forty pounds on me, im have bald spots from her grabbing me by the hair and yanking on time. Fucked up him and shoulder from being sat on to keep me still. Malformed ribs, and a scar on my face from her throwing a bin on the coffee table at me it had razor knifes in it some were open. Got cut nose to ear and chin to lip clean through. This was when i was in 7th grade, i stitched my self up and stapled accordingly. I wasn't gonna let her lie to the doctor again trying to make me out to be unstable and uterly clumsy. Bad rep for a gunsmith

My last ex. When i left she got with a latino guy who looked...well like a latino version of me (my mother found it on facebook and brought me to see..it was creepy close.) and within 2 1/2 years had 3 kids. I don't do kids. Especially back then with my depression and anger issues. I'm sure that would have drove me off a mental cliff. I'm now happily married to both a husband and wife and all three of us are getting along perfectly.
