    A friend bought and assembled an NXT 54 portable goal. However, something went wrong because the backboard faced down 45 degrees no matter the height adjustment. I offered to take a look. Unfortunately, the assembly instructions were trashed so I turned to YT and your remarkable step-by-step assembly process. When comparing your assembled goal to this one, it became apparent that part 51, the highest section of the post, had been twisted 180 the degrees and resulting in the downward angle. After a couple hours of careful disassembly and frequent check-ins on your video, part 51 was twisted another 180 degrees, bolts and nuts were reconnected and the goal is ready for action.
    You saved the day. Thank you so much for this post!

    I've got my hoop installed! Thanks again for uploading this. I've got a question to crowd source here... has anybody gone through the trouble of creating a "base rebounder" for this hoop like some of the slightly more expensive Spalding hoops have? I'm finding that shooting free throws especially is very frustrating, as the ball careens off the stabilizing arms in every conceivable direction after a made shot. I'm looking into this and will post back here if I find something that works. Thanks!

    • @daddoesvideos
      @daddoesvideos  4 роки тому

      Yeh, if there’s an inconvenience with this hoop, that’s it. I was thinking of trying of those metal “ball returns” that hang off the rim, but haven’t tried yet. Be great to hear if anything works for anyone.

    Thank you for this video! Very helpful and easy to follow. One question about Step 24, which is when you add the top pole by fastening 3 screws. The pole fits snugly in place, but when I try to tighten the screws into the hexagonal holes, the connection between the two poles is no longer flush. There's a slight gap at the seam of the connection, and it only happens when I try to keep the screw top inside the hexagonal hole. Curious why this might be happening. In the video, I can see that the top pole is perfectly flush with the bottom pole (25:45)

    • @daddoesvideos
      @daddoesvideos  2 роки тому

      Sorry for the delayed response. Only thing I can think of is double checking if you followed the directions on the order of the screws in “detail a” and “detail b” in the instructions? And then make sure the screws are in those hexagonal holes as well.

  • @drjmankx37
    @drjmankx37 4 роки тому

    Thank you so much for this! How long would you estimate an idiot like myself (mostly by myself) to put together? I have put two Spaulding hoops up -- one original, one replacement backboard)--and the first took about 5 hours, the replacement took me about 2-3h. It was not easy and a giant pain in the you-know-what. Is it your impression this is somewhat less onerous? The instructions seem much clearer and easy to follow. Also, over the past year or so due to very bad weather (we have hurricanes) I have had to lay our hoop down a couple of times per year, which has the potential to damage the rim. Does this seem that it would be amenable to lying it down without damaging the rim? Thanks again.

    • @daddoesvideos
      @daddoesvideos  4 роки тому +2

      Hey there. Thanks for the kind words. Yeh, this wasn’t bad to put together. The directions say 90 minutes, but I’d plan on three hours realistically. The good thing is the directions are really clear and all the pieces are marked, so you know exactly what you are doing in each step. I think if you are gentle with the hoop, you can lay it down, but you might want to ask the manufacturer. I have almost four bags of sand in mine and it’s held up to 60-65 mph winds so far. If you can, I’d suggest filling it instead of laying it down every time the weather gets bad. Makes it much more stable to play on too.

    Hey, how easy would it be to move this around? For example from the backyard to the driveway and vice versa. Can I also put sand bags on top instead of filling the inside with sand?

    • @daddoesvideos
      @daddoesvideos  4 роки тому

      Hey there. It’s really easy to move around when there’s no water or sand in the base. Once you start to fill the base with water or sand, it gets progressively heavier to move, but not impossible. Probably depends to what extent you fill it. But remember, you want it weighted down so 1) it doesn’t blow over and 2) it doesn’t vibrate a ton when the ball hits the backboard or rim. You could certainly put sand bags on top. That would weigh it down too. And it would be easier to move around if you just remove the bags. The manufacturer doesn’t recommend, though.

    • @aaaaankit
      @aaaaankit 4 роки тому

      @@daddoesvideos Thank you for replying. Is it easy to drain water or take out sand from the base?

    • @daddoesvideos
      @daddoesvideos  4 роки тому

      There’s no drain on the bottom. Only way to remove water is to tip the hoop backwards. That forces the water to come out. I think removing sand would be harder. Same principle would apply though. I think if you really think you’ll be moving the hoop around a lot, you might just put sand bags on top or consider a hoop with a drain on the bottom. Might want to check with the manufacturer, though. Perhaps they have other ideas or options.
