It all depends on the type of terrain you ride too. The carnivores might be a great tire for you. I’m out of PA and most of our trails are rocky. We’ll see how it goes. So far I’m really happy with them.
Went from Bighorn 2.0s to Carnivores and noticed same thing with ruts. Theres not much to bite just slick sidewall. I was a big fan of my old Bighorns those really did me good, but were smaller tires.
I came from 30 inch crawler XG. Now I have 32 inch Roxxzillas and my ass end is sliding like mad. 2017 turbo R. They climb well but man do my rear tires break loose easy in the hard pack. Maybe the crawlers were just stickier. I thought the zillas would have better grip on the dirt. 4 wheel drive is awesome with them of course.
I’ve actually had the opposite happen to me. They hook so much that it’s unsettling lol. Maybe try a lower psi. I run 8-9 in mine and they don’t slide at all. I haven’t tried the crawlers yet though to compare.
My wife run KM3's on her honda R fox live. She seems to like them has no problem climbing and trail riding. She gets to hatfield and McCoy trails a lot more then I do.
Ya, we thought about getting a set of beadlocks but haven’t because we just bought these wheels a few months ago haha.. I’ve always had pretty good luck running around 10psi. No punctures or sidewall cuts. How have your tires and beadlocks held up? I hear a lot of people have issues with slow leaks.
Ours measured 31-3/4. I’m hearing the 14” rims measure different than the 15” rims. We have 14s. I have 3000 miles on them now and they are by far the best tire I have ever ran. The traction is unreal.
@@TheCanAmCrew that's good to hear. I've always sort of overlooked them thinking the lack of soft surface traction would over shadow their increased hard surface traction but apparently that isn't the case.
I run carnivores and for the riding I do they are great. My question that I have often wondered...changing the size from 30 to 32. Does this effect the speedometer at all
Yes, it will change the speedometer. I don’t know how much though. We went from 28” to 30” and now we’re at 32” tires so I would imagine it changed a few miles per hour. I’m sure a dealer could recalibrate it too.
How about deep mud clay mix like in the nastier areas of Mines and Meadows? I dont look for mud but sometimes it finds me. Also I swapped that viscolock for a torqlocker last year, probably the best money I have spent on the machine, so far. I keep up with my friends XMRs with smartlock a lot better, however the cryptids on their machines do have the mud advantage.
We run mines and meadows a lot. A friend of ours runs the roxxzillas and they have been great in the mud there. I had mine swamped in some deep mud at ivy branch to and it just dug it’s way out.
Well they are shutting down for 2 weeks for trail maintenance. However mud is what we get during a spring thaw. At the same time though I have run into more dirt road riders than actual offroaders that don't know what a black trail is supposed to be or how to read a trail marker.
They are amazing. I have the mud buster max coverage flares over my oem flares. Best combination out there in my opinion. You can get the max coverage flares from redline4x4.com and use my jhatch_x3 discount code if you want.
They weren’t any louder than the other tires we’ve ran. After running the road for a minute or 2 they really hook especially around turns haha. They throw little pebbles and road debris more as well but I’m guessing it’s because of the compound.
That’s cool. We might have crossed paths. We spent most of our days on the double black trails. We use the go pro hero 8 blacks. We’re thinking about adding another camera but one that can zoom in and out.
How long you think they'll last being so low in tread depth and so soft. That's my only concern. TWRA, royal blue, rider, there is always sticky clay...and go out west, idaho trails
A friend of mine runs them on his rzr. He has over 1000 miles on his and they are still in good shape. My thoughts are if the tires work that good then I’d be fine with replacing them once a year.
@@TheCanAmCrew that's alot of expense to me I guess. Hopefully he gets 2 k out of them. If I knew someone that got 2k and they were still biting good. I'd pull the trigger. Running the sti xcomp currently. Like em. They're just HEAVY
@@joshuabright547 ya, we put a lot of miles on too which hurts us as far as buying tires lol. I’m hoping I get close to 2k miles out of them. We’ll see how it goes but so far I am very impressed with them. I’ve heard good reviews on the xcomps. Keep me posted on how they work for you.
@@TheCanAmCrew 1500 miles. Half worn, never had a leak, tear or flat. Just really heavy but they work pretty good in most conditions except sticky clay but what does lol
How are the zillas on wet asphalt (rain) and the wear after 3 years? 😅 And we're the carnivores better or worse than the bighorn's? In other words, overall how would you rank these 3 models? Greetz from Belgium 😊
@@ASUSfreak the zillas grip just as good on wet asphalt as dry. They are an amazing tire and we usually get 2500-3000 miles out of a set. I liked the big horns over the carnivores. I would put zillas at a 10/10. Big horns at a 4/10 and the carnivores at a 2/10.
oh WoW! I was thinking like 1st zillas, 2nd bighorn's and 3th carnivores or something, not with Points out of 10. But you did and now it even make a greater impression of how you would rate them. Dang, that's a crazy result! I only drove fisrt bighorn's on my 2007 Grizzly and they were awesome! Now I have new RMAX2 SE with a stock tire on it (in Belgium it's not the Carnivores) and they are allmost worn out. They did deliver the carnivores with the buggy so those are next on my rig, that's why I asked. Hopefully I have better results lol 😅
They are great. Still lots of life left. Right now they have just over 2500 miles on them. There’s no doubt I’ll get at least another thousand or better. I don’t spin them unless I’m trying to heat them up. I don’t do donuts or anything to cause premature wear so I’m sure that helps. We ride a good bit of road too. I’ll be buying them again for sure.
Thanks. I just bought a new x3 DS this weekend and was looking at going to 32s. I wanted to keep the stock rims though if possible. Do you think 1.5" wheel spacers would work or is that a bad idea? I see everyone talking about the wheel offset and no one mentions spacers instead
I’ve always preferred to run wheels instead of spacers because of bump steer and feed back issues but I know a few people that run spacers and never have anything negative to say about them.
32s are a great size for the X3’s. You’ll be really happy with them. We ordered ours from Dave northeast powersports in Akron Ohio. Great prize and quick shipping. Tell him we sent you.
We have a winter video with 12-15 inches of snow on the ground from tri country atv park. If you wanted to check that out. But yes. The zillas did better than my carnivores did.
We’ve gone through 3 set of zillas so far and they seem to last around 2-3000 miles depending on terrain. We went out west this year and did 800 miles and it wore them down pretty good but east coast comfortably 2500 miles with competition compound zillas.
I'm running 32 carnivores, but I don't ride as much as yall do! Mines still new! Wish I'd done rockzillas now!
