I knew that would be my biggest hot take LOL. Like I said, Gobby would have been #1 if he had more time to develop in this universe and spent more time building the rivalry with Holland. Wenwu is probably a better "villain," but Justin Hammer is the most entertaining antagonist to watch for me.

Hammer may not be the most important, intimidating or even empathetic villain but he’s slimy enough to get you rooting for Tony and is just the funniest verbal punching bag in the mcu … he’s constantly setting Tony up for his iconic quips without even knowing it 😂

Wanda being as high as she was was a conplete shocker. Even when given the opportunity to kill the protagonists she didn't and instead just moved them to the side, so I didn't see her as intimidating at all.
That being said, I think you ranked most of these well, and given how many there are, it's impressive. Good job.

I legitimately forgot the Tinkerer and the monster from the beginning of Guardians Vol. 2. The other guy is kind of a villain......Maybe? I guess I could have put him on as well. I knew I missed a few lol

Ehhhhhh, I really like him, but he's a bit cheesy in some scenes and some of the themes they were going for were very simplistic and underdeveloped. Still a great villain.

One thing Id like to say is there is no need to add characters like the Castle Guards or Tracksuit Mafia. They're not villains, they're just henchmen. Though you can make a separate video on them.
That’s what I was thinking. They’re just henchmen and they’re not meant to be dwelled upon that much. They might be lame but they’re just henchmen; most people aren’t going to care to begin with.

Loki is actually a hard one to nail down, especially after avengers 1, he’s been a villain, an anti hero, an antagonist, a hero and someone who is opposed depending on what point in the mcu you’re looking at and has a surprisingly relatable flaw in the need for approval and acknowledgment from those he holds in high regard for a god. I think It’s the journey he’s undergone up to Loki s2/ infinity war (depending on which timeline) and that relatability that has him so beloved as a character as his story shows that change and growth is always possible.
I feel like 60% of the "villains" from this list could be removed, especially the henchmen, because it just makes the list too filler. It would be cool if the list was concentrated more on MAIN villains. But still, very interesting video.
Now, how about a ranking of all Marvel Netflix villains?
Well there are so many channels who rank the top 10 or 20 main ones, so I wanted to do something different and list EVERY one lol. I'm doing heroes next, and I've been told by a few people that they'd like me to do a Netflix one.

I noticed you forgot to include Yelena Belova from Hawkeye. Where would you rank her?
Well I considered her, but I don't view her as a villain, even in Hawkeye. She was established as an absolute hero in Black Widow, and she's just trying to avenge her sister by killing the man she thinks is responsible. Much like Cap vs Tony, I saw that conflict as a hero vs hero battle, and I don't think she qualified for the list. Someone like Wanda counts because she went from being a hero to blatantly murdering like 50 innocent people in cold blood, so she was clearly a villain. BUT, if I did add her to the list, she'd probably be in the low 50's or 60's. I'm not a big fan of her.

@@Dylasophical Well, admittedly, that's just bad writing. Unlike Natasha, though, Yelena doesn't really take any steps to improve herself; rather, she just fully subsumes into the assassin lifestyle. Not to mention, she's oddly adverse to the idea of the Avengers.
@@Dylasophical Tbf Wanda was corrupted by the darkhold, she learned a lesson at the end of the WandaVision and then didn't have full control over her actions, Doctor Strange from another universe destroyed an entire universe because of the darkhold, so I don't think she's so bad. It's like blaming Bucky for the winter soldier, she's more like an antihero
I haven't watched any of the video as of typing this comment, but I would just like to get it on record that I do not believe that John Walker is a villain. If anything, I think he's actually the most morally correct character in the show, and he was unfairly demonized by everybody around him for the sake of preachy woke politics that don't even fit in the context of the prior MCU.

If the new Captain America is the type of guy to sympathize with clearly amoral terrorists and treat fellow military veterans like shit, then thare is no way in hell I am going to support him.

@@Dylasophical He's only an antagonist because the writers wanted him to be one, but he's badly written from the standpoint that a lot of people (myself included) see him as the true hero of the show.
in defense of Malekith he's ranked way to low i mean he's not great by any means but he does do a lot in the movie, he kills Thors mom, he has an alright fight with Thor with the portal hoping climax, he's strong enough to wield an infinity stone by himself. sure he's kinda boring but how do you have even his own henchman ranked above him? he may be forgettable but he's not THAT forgettable
He’s that forgettable. He didn’t even kill Thor’s mom, Kurse did that. Maliketh isn’t even that much of a physical threat. Every time he and Thor fight, Thor just beats him up repeatedly.

Haven't seen Hawkeye yet but Kingpin is the best MCU Villain. I cannot believe that he's actually that much worse now.
Well I don't count the Netflix shows as being in the core "MCU." If I did, Kingpin would be #1 and Killgrave would be towards the top.

I do love a lot of these villains. But I must complain my main issue is how the MCU portray the arch enemies of the heroes.
For example The Mandarin (Not Trevor and definitely not Killien) is Iron Man's arch nemesis. But Iron Man does not get to meet the real Mandarin (Wenwu) in the MCU.
The Red Skull is Captain America's arch enemy. But they only have him be a villain in 1 movie and then kill him off only to later have him come back as the keeper for the soul stone. What a waste!
Do I need to go on? The way they shaft some of these important villains is disrespectful and shameful. The reason why I expect so much out of these villains because I want to experience the rivalry and dynamic they have with their heros.

No, people kept defending them by saying "They're supposed to be dumb." Well, a dumb villain is a dumb villain. Being evil doesn't inherently make you a bad villain, but being a dumb and incompetent one does.

Justin Hammer was my most disliked villain amongst the main villains, but not because of his acting but rather I just didn’t like the character. I never took a close enough look at how the actor killed it with the character, I will have to give Iron Man 2 a second look.

@@Dylasophical putting taskmaster nearly at the bottom really did it for me, a character with clear intent to be furthered in the story barely ahead of malakith? Again I know it's your opinion and maybe thunderbolts will change that
@@richardchisenhall387 Oh yeah she'll definitely be fleshed out more, but I thought she was terrible in Black Widow. She had a few cool action moments, but her story was a mess, she was a ripoff Winter Soldier, and an embarrassment compared to her comic book counterpart.

She was the red in natasha's ledger that she thought would never be made right, and she got a second chance at that. She showed the depth of draykov, what he was willing to do to keep her, condemn her to living as a weapon. He put his own daughter through the brainwashing process, there was no need to she functions without it so would he have done that anyways? I wouldn't put it past him. This also sets up taskmaster as a character giving a basis for the future which im guessing will be particularly guarded because of the trauma, sassy like the spy who saved her when she had every reason to let her die in the crash, and a particular soft spot for kids considering her childhood was taken away from her. It's just theorizing but just that potential makes her all the more interesting to me.

Bro, I get you had to go through all these movies, but to put Trevor and a fucking Dragon above Najma and you even is completely stupid and you even said he lost your credibility, the DID is just a mindless beast. Then you put some ancient monster above a character with a motive, because it wasn't annoying... If you can't get what I'm saying your list is really shit right now.
But I value something that is mindless and forgettable more than a character that is actually poorly written and offensively bad like Namja. A dumb monster will always beat a character that I literally can't stand to listen to like Karli. Like I said, I put a lot of thought into every pick. I'd love to hear some of your favorites!
@@Dylasophical Well, I do have to respect that because Najma really just turns on anybody without a thought like she did with Kamala and her great grandmother. Plus, it's not explained why they truly desire to get back to their planet (I think) so if a monster thats been kept away for thousands of years that manipulates the mind that causes a driving force for the main characters and a tension between the "villain" (thought its not purposely) I can understand. Trevor's not better than Najma villain-wise, but he is way more likable.
