neat, simple, easy to learn. i'd add one note on lower part of harness ; once you pass both ends through the first loop (between the legs), do at least overhand knot on each side (strap) before wrapping up the rest around the body. i did the same way as you did and my climbing instructor cut the webbing on one side only and i kinda " fell out of" the harness...

Interesting setup, Only thing to note is you are definitely multi-axially loading the carabiner which is not ideal.
