@@joeshmo5399 cheers, do you think this foot ascender method could be utilised effectively with a traditional single rope method of using a clove hitch to link into your harness and the the remaining end around the main line with a Blake's hitch.
@@yorkshire_saddlehunter184 You must mean a moving rope system MRS. I think I tried that once with a foot ascender because I am terrible at MRS too much friction over the branch or even through a cambium saver for me. It was hard to start out since putting a throw bag weight on the rope doesn't do much good when it hits the ground right away. Once you get higher up with enough rope below to weight it down it would start working better.
@@joeshmo5399 im a bit confused with your reply Joe. But I think I figured it out within the last 30 minutes. I came across a video on UA-cam of where someone made a DIY foot loop which in theory can be attached to a caribiner then the caribiner to a French prusik hitch in the main line. This I plan to utilize tomorrow with my traditional old style rope technique involving a blakes hitch. I don't have any fancy ascenders or pulleys or anything so I have high hopes this bog standard DIY setup when properly configured will work just as well. Might be a bit more work to setup but it gets the job done. I'll comment over the link to the video I seen
Around the neck HUT is called a noose😂
Thanks much, nice video.
Figuring out the rope walker slowly but surely!
"Hold up thingy" I absolutely love it
Suspenders with a hold up thingy is better so you can hang a chainsaw to your harness and not really notice it.
What hood you living in? In my hood a hold up thingy is a 9mm.
nice advice. Now, I wanna buy that chest harness. 👍
Go for it!
If you set up the HUT you can make it with the least sitback. I switched from a chestharness to a HUT because of that
The clips of the harness are made of plastic... Can you sit back on it...? It looks unsafe, if something goes wrong
What you using on your foot to push your way up by your leg?
Foot ascender
