I like the night mother theory, especially after we know that there are living beings inside apep, and how melusines are born from elynas. It feels like there are endless possibilities. I also like other theory like nibelung, who cameback after his first lose against phanes, seen as 2nd who came in human's pov (or at least by enkanomiyan in before sun and moon). I also like the idea of alice (klee's mom) is from irminsul in other land/planet/universe. I think the more theories are made, the merrier 😂😂 will be fun to find out which theory is the closest one to the real truth of teyvat 😊😊 btw thank you for the video and congratz u got sponsor!
Thank you, and thank you for watching! I had completely forgotten about Apep’s situation but that’s a very good point. I hope Childe’s whale also gives us some more information regarding the true origins of Teyvat’s life.
It’s possible, but we don’t yet know if the dragon king actually entered the abyss. And if the Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies is correct, the abyss wouldn’t have had corruptive power til the Night Mother existed.
Looking at your theory, really make me think of something since the heavenly principles have authority over all of teyvat does that mean that since they control irminsul tge archons are rightfully given the dominion over each element if you really think about it, the Archons have shown to be more capable Gods and rulers than any of the dragons ever could the value the people of there nations safety and life forms from there but when it comes to the dragons, they’re pretty much more destructive than actual peacekeepers apep even says that she could destroy nahida and her people if she wanted to buy it, served her no purpose I wonder if there elemental authority was taken away because of their destructive power if you really look at the elements they each represent a different kind of emotion or certain passion dendro is the physical form of life in teyvat that holds many new discoveries and beauties this perfectly represents nahida and her title as the god of wisdom, but when you look at apep she’s more so filled with bitterness and hatred towards the gods she even hates nahida for no reason just because she is a useper the dragons are always saying that the guys don’t have the right to rule over this land, but have you ever taken into consideration that the dragons were being irresponsible with their power and authority Here’s some more evidence dvalin is the wind dragon and it’s supposed to be the dragon freedom yet despite that he gets corrupted by the abyss in holds hatred towards venti because he thought he abandoned him that leading him to torment monstadt and attacked the people, and for azdaha he loses his memories due to erosion and becomes extremely violent towards liyue and Morax breaking the contract he had with him and for neuvillette well hydro it’s supposed to be the concept of emotion and life though he is the most human out of all of the dragons he still hold some resentment for the Archons and the gods, despite not doing anything wrong he wants to judge them because they “stole” the elementl authority from the dragons all of this leads me to believe that the original purpose of the elements was supposed to be given to the gods if what your saying is right then the primordial one most likely gave the archons the proper authority over the seven elements because they perfectly represent the concept of each element venti: being carefree and having the most freedom out of the rest of the archons Anemo being the freeest element that connects true all corners of the world Zhongli: being extremely knowledgeable about history, and dealing with the concept of erosion geo is another word for rocks, and all rocks erode into another substance (I think) and have been on this planet since the very beginning, and hold many knowledge of past events Raiden ei: being extremely powerful yet also being the shadow and being the sister of mokoto perfectly represents thunder being the shadow of lighting with is being a more powerful sound Nahida: constantly wanting to learn about the world and value and protect life in Sumeru dendro is the concept of growing like how nahida is growing to be a great archon and the fact plants are valued amongst the world like how nahida is a consciousness or more specifically avatar of irminsul which is basically the entire world Im not entirely sure about furina but if I had to guess I think she represents the calming fresh waters that nurtures life and is nothing more than a small week version of the ocean, while the true hydro archon is the engulfing sea ready to bring judgment upon all all of this makes me believe the Archons have more authority over the seven elements because of irminsul even when you look at the setup screen you can see that they reminisce elemental energy around them yet neuvillette is sovereign and is supposed to be stronger then them
I love Genshin and it's lore, thanks for the video. I have no idea what is really going on, but the theories on Teyvat being a bubble world in Honkai are quite interesting. Would make sense, since Aloy suddenly appeared, so might be connected to all worlds that exist??
Mihoyo rebranding to hoyoverse make more sense if you believe all their games are connected to each other. It's even funnier if you realized they rebranded after honkai impact 3's otto apocalypse's story arc concluded. A character that open the concept of infinite possibilities or multiverses in honkai universe.
This theory indeed become food for thoughts. Still, if that ending wasn't very open ended. I'll be chewing my words that Paimon might be indeed tied to Tevyat's creation more closely than I imagined. Then again, I won't be holding my breath if she pulled a 'Kaslana' stunt when plot demands it cause it's a hoyo games -_-;
@@iamsyncx It is also possible that rukka or even an earlier incarnation of her is the shade of life that spawned from the PO. Given that all the celestial nails were aimed at now burnt out parts of irmunsul (the white branches) these were co-opted corruptions of irmunsul itself that were re-writing parts of teyvat (locally) according to some outsider's rules. If they'd been left to change teyvat they'd have spread and co-opted the entire world.
The nature of the Abyss is a tough one and I realize you're mostly talking metaphorically whereas I think there might be a literal interpretation, however even so it feels like you can't associate the Abyss with so much surely? Abyss = void = nothingness Abyss = universe = everything Abyss = night mother = a personality Those seem mutually exclusive ideas to me. In game the Traveler is said to have crossed the Celestial Atlas (Zhongli) and visited many planets. These are not metaphors. It's rare but sometimes Traveler drops a factoid bomb about some random planet they once visited (eg "usually on other worlds, Alchemy is hidden / secret"). These are real worlds and real places in a real physical universe that they traveled through. So I think the only one of the three that's possible is your original "Abyss = universe" theory. Now this got a big shot in the arm from the display of the cracked sky in the domain through the book, which for sure appears to be purple themed (the stuff beyond the sky) like the abyss. Or perhaps like the stuff you see when you open an artifact domain a crack and see partially through the door. But it's also reminiscent of the galaxy of stars in the sky of Teyvat at night and the view from floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss, after passing 3 floors where you see the moon, though a moon which shows half of the dark side of the moon, consistent with a perspective of the moon from orbit (ie from space). And certainly the Abyss has access to other worlds through it, as per the description of the Rifthounds and Golden riftlord. On this basis you could say the Abyss is nothing more or less than a crack in the eggshell of Teyvat, however something still seems off about this approach to me. For one thing that suggests a late creation date for the Abyss again, but you want it to precede the PO and dragons even. Another issue is that if the sky cracks it's fine to see what's beyond, though it doesn't seem to exactly do that, because I would expect to see the milky way or the loading screen structures, but why would there be a hole in the eggshell deep in the earth? or is the ground fake as well as the sky? is the whole thing a bubble in space and if you dig down too much you crack out the other side the same as a crack in the sky? So there's no planet at all here? But then what was there before the PO if the PO made all this? What were the dragons living on?
I believe the “abyss” is more than one thing, or it can be used to refer to multiple different things. There is the physical place, the power, the “sky”/universe, and the ruler of it, the night mother. Similar to how the Heavenly Principles have been referred to as an entity but also a set of laws. • The twins may have traversed the universal-abyss multiple times already since we’re told the universe has no beginning and no end. • The “land of night”/physical abyss may just be the place closest to or most in-tune with the universal-abyss. With that in mind, the night mother could just be a manifestation of the universal-abyss, which is why she now rules (or ruled) over the land of night. • I’ve briefly discussed the idea before, but in regards to your point about the existence-date of the firmament, the Primordial One could have created the firmament, left, then returned. During it’s “away-time”, the idea of elemental-evolution I discussed may have taken place. • It’s also possible that everything is just in a bubble (which may be a stabilized domain). I’d even go as far to say that current-day Teyvat could just be the remains of a previous world that was stabilized. The Iriminsul tree may just be cycling the memories and data of those who were lost, which is why “everything runs in a loop.” After all, Albedo does say the earth is “a dream lost to time.” • But it’s impossible to really say anything for certain now. Especially since the genesis crystals say they were formed at the very origin of “the universe.” But the primogem description describes them as the “condensed hopes and dreams of universes (plural) that once were.” We’ll just have to wait until they decide to release some more ancient Teyvat history lol.
This is not a new theory. This has been around since the Enkanomiya patch. Beware, as the abyss existed with the light realm even before the primordial one descended, and also the PO uses the light realm to create life. Apep revealed that there were plants before the PO created life, it may be a translation error or a plot hole, but for now we have to take it as it is. Now, it's not a stretch if the PO created life from the abyss, since that's what Gold did. I don't think PO did it since Abyss is harmful to the light and the human realm. At this point we can see the abyss as a source of power. Also people are saying that the primordial one is Nix or Ananke, because they relate how Enkanomiya calls the deities (like names from Greek mythology and theology) to all the other deities in Genshin. This way of thinking could lead to a wrong assumption, so be careful as Genshin is a mix of theology and myths. For example, they mix Pangu (Chinese) and Phanes (Greek), they have similarities but are very different. Ishtaroth is another example, as Enkanomiya refers to it as Kairos, and Kairos, as far as I remember, has no similarity to Ishtar or Astaroth. So the best way to guess who is the primordial one, is to research Hoyoverse theology/mythology. What we do know is that we can may end fighting fate (or a representation of), and that due to how Irminsul alters the world's data, many of the fantasy books may contain encrypted teyvat information, as Nahida demonstrated that this way is a form of preserve information.
"born in" and "born from" have different connotation, imho. Your idea seems to suggest more on stuff like Irminsul and Tevyat were born IN the void. since you are also referring to items that can be found in the void, and also existence of items that is not in the void (like the moon, for example). Other than that, everything's good. ps.: and oh yeah: have you checked CN? since the nature of this theory is very... outside-the-lore
I disagree that they can’t mean the same. The void is nothingness, so to be born in nothingness means it was born from the void. The same applies to ideas such as being being born in sin; they are born from sinful things. I believe they were born from & within the void, since that’s all there would have been from them. Unlike Iriminsul, we know that the sun & moons were created (Staff of Scarlet Sands) rather than birthing from nothingness.
@@iamsyncx outside-the-lore: I mean this theory is very world-building and might not even get addressed in full at the end of Genshin. Just feels like this is the kind of stuff that would fall into a general grand scheme that is hoyo-verse. check CN: no I mean: stuff like the Pale Princess.
I agree it could be more of a grand scheme thing for Hoyoverse. “Unfortunately”, I’m expecting them to still leave us with a lot questions by the time Genshin finishes, but I do hope they address the biggest points. I haven’t read the Pale Princess in CN yet, but I’ll check it out when I have the chance!

@@iamsyncxI think if primordial whale turns out to be from abyss, then it fits your night mother theory.
I heard someone said the night mother was born when the dragon king entered the abyss.
It’s possible, but we don’t yet know if the dragon king actually entered the abyss. And if the Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies is correct, the abyss wouldn’t have had corruptive power til the Night Mother existed.
You know The Pale Princess and The Six Pygmies is really really incomplete, right?
Yes, but I still believe it will be one of the most lore heavy books since the Abyss Order went as far as to steal it.
@@r.d.6290 didn’t they go after two books?
I’m referring to Lisa’s story quest, not the Three Realms Gateway event.
Looking at your theory, really make me think of something since the heavenly principles have authority over all of teyvat does that mean that since they control irminsul tge archons are rightfully given the dominion over each element if you really think about it, the Archons have shown to be more capable Gods and rulers than any of the dragons ever could the value the people of there nations safety and life forms from there but when it comes to the dragons, they’re pretty much more destructive than actual peacekeepers apep even says that she could destroy nahida and her people if she wanted to buy it, served her no purpose I wonder if there elemental authority was taken away because of their destructive power if you really look at the elements they each represent a different kind of emotion or certain passion dendro is the physical form of life in teyvat that holds many new discoveries and beauties this perfectly represents nahida and her title as the god of wisdom, but when you look at apep she’s more so filled with bitterness and hatred towards the gods she even hates nahida for no reason just because she is a useper the dragons are always saying that the guys don’t have the right to rule over this land, but have you ever taken into consideration that the dragons were being irresponsible with their power and authority Here’s some more evidence dvalin is the wind dragon and it’s supposed to be the dragon freedom yet despite that he gets corrupted by the abyss in holds hatred towards venti because he thought he abandoned him that leading him to torment monstadt and attacked the people, and for azdaha he loses his memories due to erosion and becomes extremely violent towards liyue and Morax breaking the contract he had with him and for neuvillette well hydro it’s supposed to be the concept of emotion and life though he is the most human out of all of the dragons he still hold some resentment for the Archons and the gods, despite not doing anything wrong he wants to judge them because they “stole” the elementl authority from the dragons all of this leads me to believe that the original purpose of the elements was supposed to be given to the gods if what your saying is right then the primordial one most likely gave the archons the proper authority over the seven elements because they perfectly represent the concept of each element
venti: being carefree and having the most freedom out of the rest of the archons Anemo being the freeest element that connects true all corners of the world
Zhongli: being extremely knowledgeable about history, and dealing with the concept of erosion geo is another word for rocks, and all rocks erode into another substance (I think) and have been on this planet since the very beginning, and hold many knowledge of past events
Raiden ei: being extremely powerful yet also being the shadow and being the sister of mokoto perfectly represents thunder being the shadow of lighting with is being a more powerful sound
Nahida: constantly wanting to learn about the world and value and protect life in Sumeru dendro is the concept of growing like how nahida is growing to be a great archon and the fact plants are valued amongst the world like how nahida is a consciousness or more specifically avatar of irminsul which is basically the entire world
Im not entirely sure about furina but if I had to guess I think she represents the calming fresh waters that nurtures life and is nothing more than a small week version of the ocean, while the true hydro archon is the engulfing sea ready to bring judgment upon all all of this makes me believe the Archons have more authority over the seven elements because of irminsul even when you look at the setup screen you can see that they reminisce elemental energy around them yet neuvillette is sovereign and is supposed to be stronger then them
I love Genshin and it's lore, thanks for the video. I have no idea what is really going on, but the theories on Teyvat being a bubble world in Honkai are quite interesting. Would make sense, since Aloy suddenly appeared, so might be connected to all worlds that exist??
Thank you for watching! I find the bubble world theories possible. But I’m very interested to see what they do.
Mihoyo rebranding to hoyoverse make more sense if you believe all their games are connected to each other. It's even funnier if you realized they rebranded after honkai impact 3's otto apocalypse's story arc concluded. A character that open the concept of infinite possibilities or multiverses in honkai universe.
so basicallly night mother is kinda like aeon and P.O might be hershcherr like then dragons and archons are lesser gods
yeah the lore was very well researched and written I must say...👊
Thank you!
More lore pleaseeeee ❤❤
This theory indeed become food for thoughts. Still, if that ending wasn't very open ended. I'll be chewing my words that Paimon might be indeed tied to Tevyat's creation more closely than I imagined. Then again, I won't be holding my breath if she pulled a 'Kaslana' stunt when plot demands it cause it's a hoyo games -_-;
Correct me if im wrong but isn't rukkhadevata the one who created the irminsul?
Rukkhadevata was born from Iriminsul, although we don’t currently how or when.
She created the Akasha
@@iamsyncx It is also possible that rukka or even an earlier incarnation of her is the shade of life that spawned from the PO. Given that all the celestial nails were aimed at now burnt out parts of irmunsul (the white branches) these were co-opted corruptions of irmunsul itself that were re-writing parts of teyvat (locally) according to some outsider's rules. If they'd been left to change teyvat they'd have spread and co-opted the entire world.
Fascinating
EYYYY he's here!!!
The nature of the Abyss is a tough one and I realize you're mostly talking metaphorically whereas I think there might be a literal interpretation, however even so it feels like you can't associate the Abyss with so much surely?
Abyss = void = nothingness
Abyss = universe = everything
Abyss = night mother = a personality
Those seem mutually exclusive ideas to me.
The Iriminsul tree may just be cycling the memories and data of those who were lost, which is why “everything runs in a loop.” After all, Albedo does say the earth is “a dream lost to time.”
• But it’s impossible to really say anything for certain now.
@@iamsyncx I just edited: have you checked CN? since your theory is very... meta.
Outside of the lore? But what I checked in CN were the translations of things such as “Genesis Crystal” & “Iriminsul”.
