The sustainer of heavenly principles is most likely “A”sustainer, aka a shade. The shade of void protects the firmament that protects and divides Teyvat from the abyss. (Like a sentry protecting who’s coming in and who’s leaving)
Regarding the Goblet of Eonothem, in the original Chinese version of the name, it translates to "Cup of the Void" which is very unrelated to Eonothem. I do think that Zhongli is related to the God of the Void, but I wanted to point that out cus its an important note. As for the Sustainer, I don't see how her being the first entity we see necessarily invalidates her position as a shade. Nahida says that we were defeated by the Heavenly Principles, but that could mean the "organization" rather than the "individual".

The whole adeptal realm thing is pocket dimensions. And Liyue's the only country so far that doesn't get one of those space-tearing monsters like rift hounds and abyss lectors aboveground. They're in the Chasm, but that's just because the Chasm's connected to the abyss.

There's no way that's gonna happen because Genshin will see war amongst the fans if the other archons are sacrificed for the dragons. Also it just makes no sense for that to happen because Teyvat is the Human Realm now, it's illogical to return it to dragons, many of which don't even like people.

I mean.. the sustainer's powers seem to revolve around those boxes she uses, and when it comes to liyue it's the only nation where the vision's core is a square, the only nation the oculi's core is also a square and the only nation where the archon is depicted holding a cube on the statue of the seven. I think it would make more sense for the sustainer to be the shade of space rather then the primordial one, maybe she is the only one still loyal to the primordial one which is why refers to herself as the sustainer and the THE heavenly principals

I guess the sustainer at the start of the game is the shade of space. I dont think they need to hide it. The sustainer is different with the heavenly principle. I dont think zhongli is a shade or related with the shade of space. Is there anything in the game that relates zhongli with a shade? All i know is venti with time, egeria/focalors with life and xbalanque/mavuika with death.

(Only 3 min in) I wonder if the 2nd descender defeated Phanes and then decided that the angel's job was already done and that they were now interfering too much with their celestial authority and kicked them out to simply "sustain" things as they were to prevent drawing the attention of the Honkai and minimize abyssal leakage? I also just watched an Ashikai vid where essentially they think Yog-Sothoth (Gosoythoth) is trapped under Irminsul and is the conceptual fuel filtered by the tree of life, Irminsul, and turned into Phlogiston and Primordial Seawater. So I'm thinking perhaps Phanes defeated Nibelung and either took over guarding or introduced/imprisoned the abyssal deity to Teyvat and then the 2nd descender (who I think is the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles) might've intervened because maybe the Honkai had set its gaze on Teyvat temporarily and they wanted to protect it from progressing too quickly and standing out. After that, I'm guessing a third descender came along but was either deemed too weak or was just defeated by the Heavenly Principles as well, but seeing as they had great power, their remains were used to create the gnoses and thus Celestia decided to create the 7 seats of the archons to act as like middle managers watching over humanity while they did something more important and gave the gnoses to those most worthy post-archon war. However, now I think recently humanity has grown tired of being 'hindered' by the gods and tried to access forbidden knowledge and see beyond the false sky and achieve higher progression which led to the cataclysm and the summoning of the 4th descender, the traveler twins, and the Heavenly Principles intervening again presumably to discourage such actions to protect Teyvat from the Honkai, doing severe damage to Teyvat in the process. Now however, I believe that the archons are also now starting to rebel, collaborating with shades and angels in secret to help humanity defy the Heavenly principles, and I think the Abyss/Khaenri'ah are too, but using the loom of fate and our twin, rather than trying to take Celestia down from the inside. And maybe Paimon is the remnants of a defeated Phanes who's setting us off on this journey bc they know subconsciously what to do even if they don't fully remember.
In Before sun and Moon an explanation like this is suggested. IT says phanes? So Hoyo has plenty of wiggle room to rewrite almost everything lol... It is entirely possible that nobody knows anything and the real story has not even been begun to be told. I understand it's not a joyful view but it's a strong argument seeing that Irminsul can erase and add things in texts, so what would prevent if from have done that in the past?

Neuvillette should be 500 years old since based on what we learned in remuria, a new hydro sovereign could not be born while egeria was alive, meaning he would have been born between the time of egeria's death and focalors being made the new archon.
Im mind blown 😮 About the shade of death it does absolutely makes sense when equate the fact the Mora leylines and that Mora are zhongli blood and flesh. Maybe also the experience leylines is associated with time since you know you gain experience through time and venti is associated with time and they are the Original survived Archons .
My guess is Phanes were defeated against the second who came. From the beginning of the history of teyvat, just after Phanes won the war against the dragon. He decided to create humans with guidance by the shades. At that time, ancient civilizations were created and humans worshipped Phanes. But after the second one came, the situation became kinda weird. The human prayers were ignored and he sent down the divine nail. I'm assuming Phanes actually lost the second war against the second one. So he took his role to rule teyvat. That's why angels and seelie were banished from celestia. Clearly, the way of ruling not the same, The second one, clearly doesn't has any attachments on humans and other being like the previous one. That's why the shades are still helping humans in some way but worries if the heavenly principle started to notice their involvement, it could be another punishment for them and other people.
Tevyat sounds like the heaven that Sunday from HSR wanted to create for humans but in the end, failed because humans are not mindless cattle. They have their ambitions and want to live freely under their own rules.

For symmetry, I want each shade to govern over one basic element (such as Electro), and one advanced (such as Anemo). So shade of space has to take Snezhnaya, and shade of death gets one secret advanced element (and Khaenri'ah).

You have it upside down, the Primordial are the shades there is no distinction it's explained in Apeps story quest, or at least thats what Hoyo intended. Form doesn't matter only knowledge. Now here is were it gets really interesting because Arlecchino and the Sustainer share the trait of glitching out of existence almost like the world has trouble keeping them physically intact. The primordial one severed into four shining shades now this happened when he "created" humans by severing the spirit world from the physical world depicted by the Abyss and Teyvat. I do not think he intended to create the Abyss he simply is an inept god just like Kaeya says that interpreted and made humans in his image. This is a clever word play from Hoyo a shade cannot shine and by definition they cannot be "real" instead they are a narrative to tell a story created by the god of the Abyss why or how that came to be is way to complicated. The nation that found out the truth was Khaenri'ah but that was never intended in Teyvats design and the Heavenly Principles is tasked of keeping that secret from humans this is somehow tied to Paimon but I don't know how yet The Sustainer recreated the world so that there would be evidence of what happened in order to be able to stop it in time but I do not think the Sustainer is able to change fate so the story is progressing to the exact same result. This is what Nicole tried to say with her tree analogy. Arlecchino could be the heir to a dynasty of Khaenri'ah she will eventually find out the truth about her origin and fight for that future instead of whatever Tsaritsa intends. As I see it there are 7 main players contesting for the power to weave fate. Arlecchino, Neuvilette, Dainsleif, Alice, The Abyss sibling, Kaeya and the Tsaritsa. It's important to know that we do not know which part we are playing if are playing the aftermath of Khaenri'ah or if we are building up to the revival of Khaenri'ah because it goes in cycles and once a leyline is created it cannot be erased this means that Khaenri'ah can be destroyed and exist at the same time so each time a cycle renews itself whatever transpired stays that's why that world is so crazy how many cycles Teyvat as undergone is unknown Now to the audience part the Fatui has learned that they are but actors on a stage and not in control of their own fate. In a sense they are fictional trying to fight for a future were they can be themselves and not a narrative in a story. The Fatui view that world as blasphemous and not worth defending. This is heavily inspired by the Flame Chasers in Honkai Impact, Hoyo likes borrowing ideas that they are particularly fond off
The Lord of the night makes it clear that the shade of death is a different entity to the primordial one and it's implied she got punished for helping Xbalanque
I believe Teyvat is on its 4th cycle. You should look up for the paper you can read on the Tower of Fontaine, the one which goes into the primordial sea.
Not to criticize, just to empty my mind of some thoughts and discuss it a little but, why most Genshin Impact dedicated channels are talking that much about the same thing, i start listening to this videos and think to my self "well, tell me something I don't know" because mostly they talk about things that are already in game, and if I think about it what we can make up from theories is basically nothing, we don't and we won't know until we know. So, props on your commitment with the content but honestly I don't know what to thing about discussing the same topics every once in a while with the little drops of information that hoyo gives of every years more or less.
Well I can't assume any given person who watches this video has all the information some people might know the bare minimum because they don't read books, artifacts etc, maybe they just started? maybe they know most of the info but want a recap to put it all together since the lore is scattered throughout the last 4 years? also the game likes to beat around the bush so I like to put it very simply or direct terms, I can't speak for other channels but for me I got a lot of my inspiration from my favourite Zelda channels I watched back in the day on how to approach the lore, as for the same topics idk I feel I make a wide variety of videos for both genshin and star rail but ya some truth to what ur saying sometimes I will revisit a video topic like the fatui harbingers one but my old on is a year old and needs to be updated lore is always expanding so you want to be up to date? As for theories that's kinda where you can have fun exploring different connections or possible outcomes its mostly meant to be fun kinda like movie theories, Hope that clears some stuff up?

That's 40 years straight against the Primoridal One and their 4 Shades! This was the first War and the one they didn't even use the Abyss! And even after losing, they wanted all the smoke and came back to fight the Heavenly Principals and their 4 Shades, with Forbidden Knowledge/ Abyss!
The fact that the Archons today are fearful and weary of Celestia, and then you have these chads, the Sovereigns. Beings who wanted to fight for their world, against someone like the Heavenly Principals stealing Teyvat to establish Humanity!

I'm 100% sure she's alive. We literally saw one of her "miracles" during Raiden's 2nd Story Quest, and she's stated by the people of Byakuyakoku to exist at all times, everywhere. I think she may be similar to Dr Manhattan in that sense (save from the super duper broken powers).

There's no way that's gonna happen because Genshin will see war amongst the fans if the other archons are sacrificed for the dragons. Also it just makes no sense for that to happen because Teyvat is the Human Realm now, it's illogical to return it to dragons, many of which don't even like people.

Out of all the lore we got in the game… The shades are the variable that catches my intention the most…
I mean.. the sustainer's powers seem to revolve around those boxes she uses, and when it comes to liyue it's the only nation where the vision's core is a square, the only nation the oculi's core is also a square and the only nation where the archon is depicted holding a cube on the statue of the seven. I think it would make more sense for the sustainer to be the shade of space rather then the primordial one, maybe she is the only one still loyal to the primordial one which is why refers to herself as the sustainer and the THE heavenly principals

I guess the sustainer at the start of the game is the shade of space. I dont think they need to hide it. The sustainer is different with the heavenly principle. I dont think zhongli is a shade or related with the shade of space. Is there anything in the game that relates zhongli with a shade? All i know is venti with time, egeria/focalors with life and xbalanque/mavuika with death.
Watch when we arrive at celestia and find advanced technology there, and people claim that it doesn't fit aesthetically.

(Only 3 min in) I wonder if the 2nd descender defeated Phanes and then decided that the angel's job was already done and that they were now interfering too much with their celestial authority and kicked them out to simply "sustain" things as they were to prevent drawing the attention of the Honkai and minimize abyssal leakage? I also just watched an Ashikai vid where essentially they think Yog-Sothoth (Gosoythoth) is trapped under Irminsul and is the conceptual fuel filtered by the tree of life, Irminsul, and turned into Phlogiston and Primordial Seawater. So I'm thinking perhaps Phanes defeated Nibelung and either took over guarding or introduced/imprisoned the abyssal deity to Teyvat and then the 2nd descender (who I think is the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles) might've intervened because maybe the Honkai had set its gaze on Teyvat temporarily and they wanted to protect it from progressing too quickly and standing out. After that, I'm guessing a third descender came along but was either deemed too weak or was just defeated by the Heavenly Principles as well, but seeing as they had great power, their remains were used to create the gnoses and thus Celestia decided to create the 7 seats of the archons to act as like middle managers watching over humanity while they did something more important and gave the gnoses to those most worthy post-archon war. However, now I think recently humanity has grown tired of being 'hindered' by the gods and tried to access forbidden knowledge and see beyond the false sky and achieve higher progression which led to the cataclysm and the summoning of the 4th descender, the traveler twins, and the Heavenly Principles intervening again presumably to discourage such actions to protect Teyvat from the Honkai, doing severe damage to Teyvat in the process. Now however, I believe that the archons are also now starting to rebel, collaborating with shades and angels in secret to help humanity defy the Heavenly principles, and I think the Abyss/Khaenri'ah are too, but using the loom of fate and our twin, rather than trying to take Celestia down from the inside. And maybe Paimon is the remnants of a defeated Phanes who's setting us off on this journey bc they know subconsciously what to do even if they don't fully remember.

It is entirely possible that nobody knows anything and the real story has not even been begun to be told. Zhongli seem to think that because he is concerned about a way to better record history, almost like everything he knows is worthless.

Neuvillette should be 500 years old since based on what we learned in remuria, a new hydro sovereign could not be born while egeria was alive, meaning he would have been born between the time of egeria's death and focalors being made the new archon.

About the shade of death it does absolutely makes sense when equate the fact the Mora leylines and that Mora are zhongli blood and flesh.
Maybe also the experience leylines is associated with time since you know you gain experience through time and venti is associated with time and they are the Original survived Archons .
My guess is Phanes were defeated against the second who came. From the beginning of the history of teyvat, just after Phanes won the war against the dragon. He decided to create humans with guidance by the shades. At that time, ancient civilizations were created and humans worshipped Phanes.
But after the second one came, the situation became kinda weird. The human prayers were ignored and he sent down the divine nail.
I'm assuming Phanes actually lost the second war against the second one. So he took his role to rule teyvat. That's why angels and seelie were banished from celestia. Clearly, the way of ruling not the same, The second one, clearly doesn't has any attachments on humans and other being like the previous one. That's why the shades are still helping humans in some way but worries if the heavenly principle started to notice their involvement, it could be another punishment for them and other people.

For symmetry, I want each shade to govern over one basic element (such as Electro), and one advanced (such as Anemo).

You have it upside down, the Primordial are the shades there is no distinction it's explained in Apeps story quest, or at least thats what Hoyo intended. Form doesn't matter only knowledge.
Now here is were it gets really interesting because Arlecchino and the Sustainer share the trait of glitching out of existence almost like the world has trouble keeping them physically intact. The primordial one severed into four shining shades now this happened when he "created" humans by severing the spirit world from the physical world depicted by the Abyss and Teyvat. I do not think he intended to create the Abyss he simply is an inept god just like Kaeya says that interpreted and made humans in his image. This is a clever word play from Hoyo a shade cannot shine and by definition they cannot be "real" instead they are a narrative to tell a story created by the god of the Abyss why or how that came to be is way to complicated. The nation that found out the truth was Khaenri'ah but that was never intended in Teyvats design and the Heavenly Principles is tasked of keeping that secret from humans this is somehow tied to Paimon but I don't know how yet
The Sustainer recreated the world so that there would be evidence of what happened in order to be able to stop it in time but I do not think the Sustainer is able to change fate so the story is progressing to the exact same result. This is what Nicole tried to say with her tree analogy.
Arlecchino could be the heir to a dynasty of Khaenri'ah she will eventually find out the truth about her origin and fight for that future instead of whatever Tsaritsa intends. As I see it there are 7 main players contesting for the power to weave fate. Arlecchino, Neuvilette, Dainsleif, Alice, The Abyss sibling, Kaeya and the Tsaritsa.
It's important to know that we do not know which part we are playing if are playing the aftermath of Khaenri'ah or if we are building up to the revival of Khaenri'ah because it goes in cycles and once a leyline is created it cannot be erased this means that Khaenri'ah can be destroyed and exist at the same time so each time a cycle renews itself whatever transpired stays that's why that world is so crazy how many cycles Teyvat as undergone is unknown
Now to the audience part the Fatui has learned that they are but actors on a stage and not in control of their own fate. In a sense they are fictional trying to fight for a future were they can be themselves and not a narrative in a story. The Fatui view that world as blasphemous and not worth defending. This is heavily inspired by the Flame Chasers in Honkai Impact, Hoyo likes borrowing ideas that they are particularly fond off
The Lord of the night makes it clear that the shade of death is a different entity to the primordial one and it's implied she got punished for helping Xbalanque
I believe Teyvat is on its 4th cycle. You should look up for the paper you can read on the Tower of Fontaine, the one which goes into the primordial sea.

Not to criticize, just to empty my mind of some thoughts and discuss it a little but, why most Genshin Impact dedicated channels are talking that much about the same thing, i start listening to this videos and think to my self "well, tell me something I don't know" because mostly they talk about things that are already in game, and if I think about it what we can make up from theories is basically nothing, we don't and we won't know until we know. So, props on your commitment with the content but honestly I don't know what to thing about discussing the same topics every once in a while with the little drops of information that hoyo gives of every years more or less.
Well I can't assume any given person who watches this video has all the information some people might know the bare minimum because they don't read books, artifacts etc, maybe they just started? maybe they know most of the info but want a recap to put it all together since the lore is scattered throughout the last 4 years? also the game likes to beat around the bush so I like to put it very simply or direct terms, I can't speak for other channels but for me I got a lot of my inspiration from my favourite Zelda channels I watched back in the day on how to approach the lore, as for the same topics idk I feel I make a wide variety of videos for both genshin and star rail but ya some truth to what ur saying sometimes I will revisit a video topic like the fatui harbingers one but my old on is a year old and needs to be updated lore is always expanding so you want to be up to date? As for theories that's kinda where you can have fun exploring different connections or possible outcomes its mostly meant to be fun kinda like movie theories, Hope that clears some stuff up?
