my theory is that paimon is related to sillie(who guide for chest) because she also guide traveler. She may be god but not for humans, she is somehow related to sillie.
I think Paimon's true purpose might be similar to Elysia's in Honkai Impact 3d. She can be the child of God (Primordial One), like Jesus Christ, that will sacrifice herself for humanity (Teyvat). She already has the power of the 9th element, look at her chest and the universal dice in TCG - it's the same triquetra. She could be the exact reason why MC is able to use all the elements. 9th element is called Kether or The Crown, which is what we see above Paimon's head... Coincidence? I don't think so. Yes, I said 9th because 8th element is Physical, it's called Malkhuth. Tree Of Life in Kabbalah consists of 11 elements in total, so we're still missing 2 - Daath and Yesod.
don't you think that Genshin is more inspired of Gnosticism ? and also, now that im typing it i think it can be both, because Gnosis means knowledge in greek.... hmmmm
8:23 about Paimon being "created at the exact moment to be rescued by the Traveler". I just remembered in the last part of Liyue archon quest, while we are talking to Zhongli about Inazuma and the Vision hunt decree, Paimon said that "it wasnt that bad last year". It indicates that Paimon was already alive and going around Teyvat before meeting the Traveler.
This could be due to having some properties of the supposed god of time or moments so she is kind of born with predetermined knowledge. This would be my conclusion but it seems very far fetched still.
but the traveler and paimon were already a lot of time togeder before the game started, during that time the trabeler was learninr the languaje and writeing of this world
For being a Gacha game, people really don't give enough credit to how deep the lore of this game is. Seriously, I can't fathom the amount of research that went into building the lore of Genshin. Edit: yall I don't give a damn if yall like a different gacha game better lmao go play it then
the world building, sound design, character and environment design are all solid. At this point, it's promotions towards the game and in game events are a cultural phenomena. It's amazing to see
Because its a gacha game with way worse % to hit a 5 stars compared to other gacha games, thus good lore and music are needed to keep this kind of gacha game alive.
i've been finding that the archons' names are more in line with Goetic Demons, or at least derivations of those names. Paimon, Morax, Barbatos, Baal/Beelzebub. i would wager that paimon was a deposed deity of primordial status, prior to the events of the great archon war. i would love to hypothesize that when the Tsarista is defeated, and the gnosis acquired, Paimon will ascend to her prior status
I want to add a couple of things I noticed: 1. When you go to the secret island on the quest, you use the elemental vision to find elemental traces, these are in the form leaves. This suggests that both Venti and the Dendro archon were responsible for "sealing" someone there (probably the god of time). 2. If Paimon is the god of moments (or something related to it), then you see how perfectly Makoto's words match what's happening: Paimon *had* to be there for the seed to be planted.
It could also explain why the time surges happened on the second entry and not the first. Her being there on the first arrival may have triggered the time anomaly
@@quantumfang2185 yes! It would also make all the time shenanigans in the Shogun quest make much more sense as it would then not be the powers of Makoto or Ei that caused it, but Paimon.
@@loick5378 9:24 "Time extends into infinity; Dreams illuminate each moment within When both shine in unison..." I think Time/moments are a reference to Paimon, and Dreams could refer to the traveler. But that is a loose interpretation.
My main issue there is the fact that Paimon wasn't born right when the traveler saved her. Paimon has been traveling for a good while, which is why she is the traveler's guide. If she was only moments or months old, she wouldn't have been to all the places she guides the traveler around. So her birth and time/place of being saved can't be linked. I'm fine with the thought of the rest talked about, she could be such a being with the theorized destiny.
It’s possible she, as God of Moments/Time has reappeared from the future and has those memories only in moments. That shade could’ve made sure she remembered only what Teyvat is. She could’ve been born before the apparent new timeline.
doubt.. literally NOBODY ANYWHERE WE GO KNEW OF HER so where did she travel prior meeting us. .. in a circle with zero humans..? u mean to tell me.. piamon travelled and literally zero katheryins know her until the first one we meet gets to see and interact with her.. she doesnt even know any of the people.. ncps even units who are running the places or the systems or orders etc.. SHE NEVER BEEN TO ANY OF THEM.. literally zero beings know of her prior to them meeting her with you... she probably... if piamon is a "og" god or something of that nature.. is obvius she would INHERENT NATURALLY MEMORIES.. so thats probably why she knows stuff.. how u know she didnt fall out of the "false sky" into the water similiar to how the twins came down.. they came inside meteorites by the way.. maybe piamon was formed and a star/fruit fell and landed in the water.. then just like aether who woke up WAY LATER after lumine who btw opened his "shell/space pod" aka meterite.. how u know piamon didnt just ironically "wake up" and was also underwater so insert the drowning part.. by ironically i mean it was PLANNED by whoever dropped piamon ... and also MEMORIES in genshin are heavily focused/related to the "trees" easily explains why she knows a bit of teyvat.. remember lenorad.. his constellation fell from the sky.. and its kinda obvious the "stars" are the FRUITS of the tree.. so id say replace "egg" with SEED kinda like kusunalli's birth.. lol again we literally play the game with her.. she is clearly NOT INFORMED at all of everything.. she knows the basics.. as if she has inherent memories of stuff.. and in away think agin kusinally.. she is still to YOUNG to full tap in to her powers and knowledge herself.. paimon in away if true.. fits that situation.. she didnt know how was ruling bodies in charge of any nation.. literally didnt know who jean was .. the knights.. the background.. didnt know the liyue stuff.. etc etc etc... she knew basic stuff.. still alot but clearly not a sign of a person actually having BEEN TO THOSE PLACES... and NOBODY EVER AT ALL KNEW HER.. if anything i think the "imaginary tree" ON PURPOSE sent the twins and paimon to tyvat.. and they arent aware of it yet... if not the tree then maybe the "primordial god" did.. also birth life death...recycle rebirth repeat thems.. no reason to assume the primodial if it is piamon also doesnt go thru this process... so taht means shes a kid thus has to regain/relearn stuff and even rediscover who and what she is... again its odd that in all of genshin.. piamon got the same damn crown on her head thats above all the trees in all the dungeons.. bruh look at her cloths.. sure morax is the god "of mora" butt lets be real.. HE WAS HIRED.. he didnt make that symbol nor did he make mora.. his power is GIVEN and he's essential MINTING MORA... look at her sleeves.. its also on all the statues and in the domains... paimon is fiercely loyal to the travellor and that also brings up another theory.. paimon is one of the kings of hell AND MOST LOYAL AND ONLY LOYAL TO LUCIFER.. twins names are probably not by accident luminiferous aether aka Lumine and Aether u can think of them as "fallen angels" im more convince something set things in motion.. they were destined to be together... Paimon teaches all arts, philosophy and sciences, and secret things; he can reveal all mysteries of the Earth, wind and water, what the mind is, and everything the conjurer wants to know, gives good familiars, dignities and confirms them, binds men to the conjurer's will. its almost as if piamons does that on a basic level WHILE getting everyone to like and love u as the MC.. aka binding people to the MC again its still speculation. .. butt i easily gave explanations taht perfectly explain what u have issue with.. wether its true or not.. we have to wait and see... so right now.. im more convinced.. paimon FELL FROM THE SKY landed in the ocean.. the woke up from her "seed/meteorite" whatever and was instantly drowing and the MC "saved her" the question is.. did the mc witness her "land" then come up .. or was she down there the whole time and woke up from her "shell" when the mc happened to be near by.. we dont know what happened prior to that event... all we know is that for 2months piamon taught the MC the language and its also why she is the MAIN voice for us.. shes helping us to make sure we understand by repeating/rewording what npc's say which annoyes many players.. shes not doing that for the players as if they didnt understand.. tbh lore wise shes doing to make sure the MC understands lol... also we dont know what paimon and the travellor told each other during those 2months ouside of teaching language.. maybe the MC trusts and told piamon he fell.. becasue he saw her fall themselves or she told him she came from above.. WE KNOW NOTHING butt thse are very plausible explantions .. not "issues" that u say u have..
Two things about how we meet Paimon are extremely weird. First, we supposedly met her two months ago, even though we're acting like she got rescued two minutes ago, and we somehow didn't encounter any humans in all that time. Second, the fishing rod, which at the game's launch only existed in the future, both ingame and in real life. No one has been able to find the location in the picture where we fished her up, either, though it has similarities to where we're standing. It seems like we actually did meet her two minutes ago, and the previous two months was a false memory created by someone messing with the timeline, much like the Sacred Sakura. It's also kind of strange that Paimon is the only person Traveler trusts with their tale of traveling between worlds and fighting the Sustainer. It makes sense to conceal that information when we don't know how the several gods we're pals with might react...so why did we reveal our true identity to the low-brain-juice levitating baby we fished out of the ocean by accident? Does Traveler know something about Paimon that we don't?
And if your theory about someone did in fact mess up the timeline then it kinda makes sense because at the start of the game the time is pretty much still
@@Windmillc If we go look at other things in this universe until now, and miHoyo's attention for detail lore-wise, it seems more likely that we are simply missing a part of the puzzle, than that they suddenly decided to not care about such a vital detail at the very start of their game, doesn't it?
@@jandepaepe4262 By going from your explanation. The puzzle missing is that Traveler did meet Paimon before the game starts. the first point is that the Traveler didn't have the fishing rod as he could have lost it and the second point of Traveler telling their story to Paimon was for context and exposition for the game and it could also fit in the lore as the Traveler regaining their memories as Traveler spent time with Paimon to regain their memories. The reason we couldn't find the location of the Traveler fishing up Paimon was that it could be from Gordo port or somewhere where we have no access until we do and the reason we told Paimon our story was so that Paimon can help us find our sibling and find the Unknown God.
literally know.. voice lines kinda vaguely confirm . the 2months after fishing her up... she spent that time TEACHING THE TRAVELLOR THE LANGUAGE .. even in voice lines shes impressed u got the hang of it in such short time.. its also lowkey why she talks for us.. and explains/repeats/rewords what npcs say for us.. for u the player it can be annoying.. lore wise.. SHES MAKING SURE AETHER/LUMINE understand it... also lets be real.. piamon is smarter then people think.. and so is the travellor.. they probably have some natural connection taht just makes them more intune with one another.. espeically if say the "imaginary tree" or "primodial" intentionally things in motion like this... fyi low brain juice baby... is clearly for her "age" smarter then any human irl ever on earth... if a "toddler" talks and thinks like her.. SHE BEYOND A GENUIS when she grows up... its almost if an all knowing god went thru a birth life death then rebirth .. aka she literally maybe a toddler GOD.. in no universe would i ever call a child dumb if it was speaking full langauge and helpign solve problems and etc.. despite often child like behaviors.. xD also yes its obvious both the traveloor and piamon know more about each other then the game reveals to us about what they know... paimon is fiercely loyal to the travellor and that also brings up another theory.. paimon is one of the kings of hell AND MOST LOYAL AND ONLY LOYAL TO LUCIFER.. twins names are probably not by accident luminiferous aether aka Lumine and Aether u can think of them as "fallen angels" im more convince something set things in motion.. they were destined to be together... "Paimon teaches all arts, philosophy and sciences, and secret things; he can reveal all mysteries of the Earth, wind and water, what the mind is, and everything the conjurer wants to know, gives good familiars, dignities and confirms them, binds men to the conjurer's will." sounds like piamon is doing all the above on a basic level and lowkey getting all the npcs and units to love and be on the travellors side.. lmao putt it like this.. it makes sense.. we just dont know enough yet to make sense.. perfect example.. the time gap of lumine and aether waking up.. and who woke up first.. literally nobody understood the order till the MC finally revealed what happened. and then it made sense.. xD butt i gave some examples that could actually be the case... we fell from the sky.. no reason to assume piamon didnt.. mayb see she did.. maybe she woke up underwater just like aether woke up way later then lumine.. and the MC and Piamon were in the same place when she woke up thus they meet.. EASY.. is it true.. ? who knows.. butt it does make sense and could be one good explanation.. also maybe paimon also told the MC she came to the planet .. hence why the MC then told her their story of coming here too.. again we got zero info prior to that even and we have NOTHING AFTER THAT EVENT till 2months later when the game starts... we dont know what the hell piamon and the MC told each during that time paimon was teaching thim the langauge.. fyi she didnt travel to any regions...cause NOBODY.. not one person KNOWS HER OR HAS SEEN HER... so that means she got her knowledge some other way.. again im convince its innate memories... the issue now lies on if she is aware and not telling or doesnt know herself... there is really nothing else taht makes sense to me.. so even though im not a fan of "hatching from an egg" butt more so a meterite OR a SEED that fell which again we know the false sky and the stars are FRUITS and fruits have SEEDS and the tree is MEMORIES and stores them within itself and its fruits. . aka constallation are "stars" like Lenords story which is the FRUIT falling from the heavens.. so "How did piamon get in the water..?" she FELL IN.. literally again probably from space in her "pod " and woke up drowing..
There's a couple problems with this theory. The scenery while fishing up paimon doesn't match mondstadt, and more importantly, the traveler meets paimon two months before the start of the game.
yep it doesn't match with any place in current mondstadt, it is possible that it is in mondstadt but in northern mondstadt north of cider lake that is not yet released in the game, we know from npcs that mondstadt also has a seaport.
@@someoneinasia well my theory is basically this you know when you choose a sibling you get to play as well what if the sibling you didn't choose.....like lumine get abducted what if she's being controlled or is used for being a vessel for the unknown god and paimon might be a piece of the god origin but not fully

When you said each shade were made up of two elements I thought that it can be presented like : Istaroth :- wind (queen piece) and time (king piece) 2nd shade:- two rooks 3rd shade:- two knights 4th shade:- two bishops
I was thinking something similar but along the lines of: Time + Anemo Space + Hydro Death + Geo Life + Cryo Since Ishtaroth was mentioned and said to be a God of Time and "undying wind" I figured that this "undying wind" might have been the term that they might have used to interpret the element of oxygen, meaning the other 4 shades might preside over the 4 elements used to create the universe and are abundant in it: Oxygen, Hydrogen, Carbon, and Nitrogen.
I think of something similar, judging by the slime, the gnosis of geo archon should be the same as cryo, while electro should be the same as dendro, and hydro gnosis with pyro
There is one missing piece, the pawn. What if the traveler holds the pawn gnosis? the thing about pawns is that they are the weakest piece but also the piece that has the most potential, when a pawn reaches the other end of the chess board (end of our journey) they can be promoted to any piece they want except for the king. maybe this is the reason why we can wield all elements without the use of a vision?
When you spoke about Paimon besting someone, I immediately thought of Traveler. We've been getting implications of Paimon betraying them lately. Also, it's expected for Traveler to be able to manipulate all of the seven elements by the end of the storyline.
@@Yuunarichu During the Enkanomiya world quest and the tanuki event, there was dialogue that implied Paimon potentially betraying Traveler at some point in the main storyline. There’s also the old theory of Paimon being the unknown god to consider. During the latest archon quest, Dain said that he and the abyss sibling didn't reach the end of their journey together so there's a chance of being the same case for Traveler and Paimon. Take with a grain of salt bc I might be wrong lmao.
@@thomasliu7257 Paimon hasn't betrayed Traveler YET. I'm just saying that if Paimon were to best someone for the 8th gnosis, it might be Traveler. If that were the case in the future, Paimon would have a choice of betraying them.
7:44 this is actually untrue as much as i wish it was true to buy some times, the traveler doesnt fish up paimon there. In the picture of the traveler fishing up paimon, they clearly arent in the same location. You can see grass in the background, however in the start of the game we’re at a beach near a cliff. What adds on to this is that its mention that they met MONTHS ago. I can bet you that they wouldnt be staying in the same location for months.
It occurs to me that her entire quest for a refrigerator so that her fruit would stay fresh until she wants to eat it again could be considered evidence that this is, in fact, her divine principle.
holy shit wait you have a point- what if hoyoverse keeps pushing the emergency food thing because paimon's fate is tied to the concept of emergency food: having something that's always there that you know you'll have when the time comes that you need it most
Now that I think of it, she always wants mora, but never really storms it on anything (since the only material thing she really cares about are food and drink, but she's got the Traveler to make her gourmet food at any random campfire pot and stove they come across), so it's like she's just storing away cash in an emergency fund until the moment it becomes necessary.
In the Genshin Manga isn't Venti referring to other real life mythos? Pangu being Chinese, Purusha being Indian and Ymir being Nordic? I assume so just because before he talks about that he says "in other, distant worlds"
@@noharijanto the spiral abyss reset says that the cycle is eerily similar to another world, that world being ours and the cycle being our lunar cycle, bc teyvat doesn't have phases of the moon, as the moon we see is a corpse of one of the three moon goddesses So yes, I'm pretty sure it's canon that it's a parallel world to ours
Paimon knew that the situation in Inazuma "wasn't that bad a year ago" during the end of Liyue's archon quest... Thus she had to be around at least for a year before getting rescued by the traveler. You could argue she had some memory of all the things since she is a special case but I still don't buy It. Not to mention the place in wich we fish her out doesn't resemble any scenary we can see in mondstadt... It must be in mondstadt but maybe not directly in front of the nameless island (I think it's north of mondstadt by the sea but we can't go there yet). Also the fishing happens 2/3 months before the start of the game, they must have moved locations in that time span.
I like this theory. I have a theory of my own, though. I think Paimon wound up in the water because she fell (was kicked) from the floating island in the sky. She was maybe some kind of deity of that place, and the other deities banished her for whatever reason. By chance the traveller fished her out, told her his story and she realized they have something in common. They both have a grudge with the heavenly beings. She is too weak to get back at them on her own, so she needs the travellers help. She's using him.
You said that paimon might have to best someone in order to get the gnosis, could the potential competitor be the unknown god sustainer? Bcoz they have many unexplained things in common, their dress is kinda similar, their character designs are similar too. On contrast their behaviour is opposite, paimon show range of emotion while sustainer seems like dead serious.
Most of the users are adults. They had responsibilities. So, wouldn't have much time to dive deep into the lore. Gacha game are aimed towards busy adults anyway.
also the sustainer sent the twins to different times. she has some amount of control over time. like how paimon menu lets you change the time they both have some amount of control over time so it makes sense
@@The_Indomitable_Human_Spirit_1 if that's the case, then it could be that only one of them will ascend to god status and recieve gnosis. Also sustainer being space god is very likely if u think about(if paimon actually turns out to be god of time/moments) bcoz both space and time are associated almost like one cannot exist without other. So two closely associated gods with one motive makes it more exciting.
@@anaelkarthik she didn’t sends them 500 years apart, the twins woke up 500 years apart, the traveler was just sleeping I think. But istaroth could just sent them 500 years apart ? Since it’s theorise that he might be like the unknown god, a shade of the primordial one
well dainslief said it come forth if you know the meaning of your journey if you are the one to protect her , who is the her he's talking of ? could it be the god of time , to set it back on track
Well to put it simply, he was talking about Lumine. You can see Aether alone near the end of that video, even though hoyo said that "both or canon" whatever.
@@darkneko972 well what I thought to but makes no sense as we play as lumine or aether , so would mean I think of the death of the sibling we are not playing , which I doubt they have in mind as an end
Looking at Zhongli's second story quest. We find Azhdaha's spirit and mind has essentially splintered into two separate beings. I have a hunch that Paimon might be a splinter of a similar being.
In Abramelin, King Paimo(n)'s powers include knowledge of past and future events, clearing up doubts, making spirits appear, creating visions, acquiring and dismissing servant spirits, reanimating the dead for several years, flight, remaining underwater indefinitely, and general abilities to "make all kinds of things" (and) "all sorts of people and armor appear" at the behest of the magician.
The characters we summon for aren't the same original characters we know from the story quests. They are really clones/dream versions Paimon creates to aid the traveler on his journey. She may have something to do with the evil Albedo clone and she cloned the Sustainer's red cubes and used the power in the Jade Chamber battle. She can freeze time and go anywhere/do anything undetected and then teleport back to the traveler and unfreeze time as if nothing had happened...😶
7:48 where your voice got all serious and intense music started playing I had a mini seizure Y’know when you’re explaining theories and you get all excited with your friends and have that happy little intense kinda feeling? That’s how I felt when you were exploring the beach omg
Perhaps Paimon is God of time, one of the primordial ones who perhaps betrayed (or escaped the fate of sacrifice), was wounded horribly during escape and flew back to where she was safest in, in Monstadt.
In norse mythology, the world was created from the body of Ymir, just like Venti described in the manga. I'm Norwegian, so I am more familiar with norse mythology than greek. That's how I got into the genshin lore in the first place, since I recognised things that might have been inspired from norse mythology.
7:40 but historia, there's the fact that they've already been travelling 2 months Together, prior to we getting to play the game. So I don't think the traveler fished her from there, because I don't think the 2 of them would be roaming the same beach for 2 months. Also its stated that paimon taught the traveler the language of teyvat for the time being. And also in that flashback photo of fishing paimon non of the nearby areas match. My guess is that the traveler fished a her somewhere that we will later get to go to like the dornman port which is in the north of mond. Or some other place. But maybe I'm wrong.
They have been roaming on the beach for two months though: the Traveler never set foot in Mondstadt before then, otherwise Amber and the other knights wouldn't have not recognised them, not the statue touched by the traveler.
As far as Genshin story quests go, the Traveler never left the foot of Starsnatch Cliff before the actual game started. So he and Paimon have been on that beach for those two months.
@@kapiteingrasparkiet7574 I mean I don't think that was the case the only confirmed thing that we know is prior to we starting the game as the traveler is that we was being taught teyvat languages from paimon after being fished. I mean there's a good lot of land area in the north of the mondstadt right? I mean both of them just going back and forth in the beach haha, it's less likely to be. Traveler was having an existential crisis not a vacation. Hopefully we will get answers in the future
@@MREAGLE-6666 But there is no proof that the Traveler travelled North prior to that, in fact all evidence points otherwise: why are all the chests in the North untouched? Sundial Puzzles unsolved? Bosses never faced before? All evidence shows the Traveler has been this bored fisher sitting on a beach for two months just waiting for a player to pick up the game.
I got chills when you explained Kairos relation to "the perfect moment". Good stuff, definitely will keep these things in the back of my mind while playing!
This theory is oddly going in the right direction, in the new archon quest there is a room in which shows a personal moment that they do not want people to see. Itto, Shinobu, and Yenfei went into said room but immediately left due to embarrassment so they ask paimon to go but she immediately declined like no hesitation, it was very sus of her to do that
I think the creation stories Venti talks about in the manga aren't supposed to be the other shades, but an actual reference to other real life creation stories. There are lines in the game about how Venti knows songs from past, present, and future (or something to that effect), and it seems to be implied that Venti has more knowledge and a deeper connection to the workings of Teyvat than most others. So I think they're an attempt to foreshadow Teyvat's darker workings and Venti's knowledge and importance.
I guess this makes the Traveler the luckiest character in Teyvat by those means. My hypothesis is that Celestia is using Paimon’s “moments” to subconsciously track the Traveller’s whereabouts throughout Teyvat. I believe, as powerful as they are, that that’s something they would do if they wanted to prevent what remains of Khaenriah from rising up again. I noticed Honkai 3rd Impact also does some story elements to this effect as well, knocking down the hero again when it seemed like he was finally holding onto all the right cards he needed.
great video as always, one problem though, i am pretty sure the place we fished paimon out of water is guyun stone forest, specifically yaoguang shoal, observing the grass type and sharply cut rock formations in the background. It might just be for the *aesthehtic purposes though for a nice first impression since yaogoang shoel is a very pretty landscape
When I talk about Genshin theory, one question I always think about is “Why is Paimon in the ocean in the first place?” I do come to the same idea, but it’s too early to based everything and conclude it. Though I wonder if Paimon was to help guide the traveler and to bring him/her to the other answer that the abyss twin couldn’t in the past.
The Imaginary power from Honkai and the Triquite Symbol from Genshin is very similar in nature Dainslief uses this power, also that power waa claimed to be not originated from the gods but from humans. Then honkai might be sus here
11:21 "who will paimon have to best" my immediate thought was that one scene where we see our sibling, with Dansleif, and our sibling says "we have always...had enough time" before leaving. Just something to think about :p
The biggest problem I have with this, is that Paimon was around before meeting the traveler, as stated in Liyue before moving on to inazuma when Zhongli talks about it being closed and tense, Paimon says that “it wasn’t that bad last year…” stating she was there last year. I do believe that she is a God, possibly the god of moments, a fraction of herself as the god of time was long forgotten, and as we go on with the story, not only do we get our memories back but it seems like Paimon is also getting memories back. Just a thought I also like to think the Sustainer is actually corrupted, like Kiana, go based off what is covering her arm, it reminds me of a certain Honkai beast, the way those cubes move up her arm.
Speaking of Susty’s arms, they are different patterns! One is the cubes and the other is like an arm with a primogem, I’m not sure how to describe it. But I do think the two sides might be different powers
Paimon = Destiny Your sister/Brother = wages war against destiny Paimon is you're guide Paimon is fulfilling your destiny, hence she is paving the destiny by guiding you in the right place and in the exact time. Mona has a voice line where she said she cannot see the Fate of Paimon Ofcourse because she is the Fate and Destiny The other MC have been waging war against DESTINY So my Theory is at the end You will have to choose between Your sister/brother or Paimon That would be the most emotional scene on the entire story of Genshin impact Your main Goal is to find your Sister/brother But in the end she/he is up against your travel buddy in the entire game, Paimon
Personally, I suspect that Paimon is (part of) one of the shades. It could be that, when faced with inevitable losing battle against celestia, one of the phanes, in a last ditch effort, send/sacrifices a fraction of it's essence into time, to buy itself time to have another chance to win the war against celestia. This would be a logical conclusion, if the shade in question holds power over time and could "see" these events play out and knew this needed to happen. In a similar way how the sacred sakura tree came into being offcourse, 500 years earlier. Because it's only a fraction of the essence, it's essentially lacks any power and knowledge, which needs to be renewed. This is why Paimon MUST acompany the traveller, in order to do so. This does align with the idea that, this was the right time to do so.
Im sort of tied between thinking 'damn this lore is so extensive!' and also 'a lot of this stuff is just aesthetics' but either way, I hope they actually finish making this game, im scared with the amount of potential lore and content + the amount of time its taking to release new content that we wont see the end and they'll cancel it :c
1:46 i might be mistaken but I think it’s actually the traveller asking about Celestia right there. Because it’s the moment when we Venti’s story is over and we come back to the present moment when he’s talking to Aether.
The title made me think of "go into the water" from metalocalypse 😭😂 I really really really hope paimon never betrays us 😭she's like a daughter/sister to me 🤧 Edit: i meant daughter/sister but wrote daughter/daughter 😭😂
That would be in line with weird game mechanics like how do we wind forward the time in game? Aether having a ridiculously big backpack Is related to some space manipulation but time one is related to paimon for sure
Ever since that long discussion during the stream about this, is was anxious for the full video… and you surpassed every expectation. As always! Looking forward for more… can’t wait for what Sumeru might bring.
Before Sun and Moon also mentions a 2nd god that came to Teyvat after Phanes. I assume the the 2nd who came is the Unknown God from the opening cut scene. The book also hinted that the Unknown God vanquished Phanes and started to impersonate Celestia. It also explains why all these ancient civilizations died out although they had a god looking after them. And it also explains why Scaramouche's the-sky-is-a-lie thing. The Celestia of the present is not the same one of the past. The Gnosis, I believe, are actually pieces of Phanes. The Archon War was orchestrated to separate the powers without any hope of them consolidating into a singularity. And Visions are granted to those with potential -- the potential that they can overthrow Celestia. It is already revealed itself to be a double-edge sword: those with their vision relinquished so too lose their drive. As for Khaenriah, the reason for the Calamity 500 years ago was because Celestia feared the nation's power. Khemia was a type of alchemy that could allow Khaenriah to become an entity that could rival Celestia. And thus it was destroyed thru divine intervention before it could become a threat. This also explains why Snezhnaya's Archon is currently collecting the Gnosis. Down with Celestia. We also know that the event changed her drastically -- Childe describing her as a loving person who had to steel her heart. Now to explain the starting sequence of Genshin Impact. The reason why the Twins were caught in their attempt to world jump was because: They did so during the Khaenriah Calamity, when the Unknown God was most observant, and that the Twins very well had the potential to overthrow the Unknown God's claim on Celestia. The Twins would very much well be on par with the Archons (if not greater) if their powers were completely sealed (able to use all the elements without a vision, lived for 500 years even if it was in slumber). And you are probably right about Paimon. Explains the time skip feature in the Paimon menu at the very least. She is probably the key to consolidating all the Gnosis into a single item.
The beach the game begins is not proven to be the spot we fished out Paimon. In the story we met Paimon 2 months before that first cutscene beach, hence it's impossible to know if that is where we found her. Personally I believe Paimon is the Primordial One, or the thing Enkanomiyans call Phanes. For Phanes was impossible to be killed, they sealed it's powers and memories. In the same workings as Gouba losing most of it's godlike powers and regressed in sized. Paimon is the Creator, she is the one yet to come, (meaning yet to reclaim her memories and herself.) And the Traveller will be the one to be rewarded the throne of this world after Paimon remembers her truth. Paimon (Primordial One/Phanes) will be the one to grant us (her bestest friend, maybe even her first true friend) rule over this world. Story will be revealed at the ending of game version 7. Version 8 will focus on the Second who came (the second Throne) and Paimon getting back her powers.
I think Paimon is our guide because she was put there to bring us to the right places at the right time to save all Teyvat. And our friend Dainsleif might be the guide of our brother/sister.
another banger of a video! regardless if there are supposed holes in your theories or not, they are incredibly entertaining and relaxing to watch. i even sleep to these! :3
Ymir was a god in Norse mythology he was the “original” came before everything including the world. He created some humans who were ,I believe, later killed by his newer creations. The the creator god himself was to be killed by those same creations and his corpse being used to make the world. Just thought it was interesting that he was mentioned as the clouds. Edit: I did some more research into Ymir and well 1. His brains did indeed get thrown into the sky and turned into the clouds 2. His skull (which was thrown ig up first bc there was no sky) made the sky 3. His blood made the seas and lakes 4. His unbroken bones made mountains 5. His broken bones and teeth made stones rocks and sometimes boulders 6. He made hundreds of ice dudes and he’s also Odin’s grandfather 7. He somehow (found?) a cow who then licked a stone into the shape of a human that then gained sentience
Paimon is the name of one of the demons/spirits in these texts and describes their abilities as such, they know of all the affairs in the world, can fly and breathe underwater, are able to summon other spirits, and can force visions upon others.
I really agree with you. One other thing about time. Some sort of time travel, but also the length of time. The 500 year marker that is in the game is when Khaenri’ah fell. Many of the things in the lore happened thousands to hundreds of years prior to that time.
Idk why people keep assuming Paimon and the Traveler met each other in that beach at the start of the game. Unless I'm missing something I'm pretty sure one of the first things Paimon says at the start is that several months have passed since they first met each other and I can't think of a reason they would stick around that one spot for months on end, especially when they were so close to a city. Another thing to mention is that I'm pretty sure there is some dialogue/ voice lines in the game between the Traveler and Paimon that implies that the Traveler has been going around from place to place while looking for books to presumably gain more knowledge and information. That being the case that can only imply that the Traveler and Paimon have already gone through other different places before the start of the game officially (before reaching Mondstat I mean).
OK. When you mention Ei's quest that Ei herself is the one who plant the sacred sakura. Maybe Paimon is created by the traveler in the future. Sound cliche, but I can see this coming.
I like this theory better but if that is the case would Paiman remember anything related to that? And let us say that the future self of the traveler and Paimon managed to someone erase our Paimon’s memories then how do u explain the 1 year Paimon was wandering Teyvat alone before finally getting rescued by the traveler from drowning? I say we got 1/10 more questions than we have answers for
What if the 8th Gnosis isn’t a material form like the other 7? But Paimon HERSELF is the 8th gnosis (like her physical body) and paimon gives her powers once she finds them to The Traveler making them become the “8th archon”? And having to fight the TSARITSA with her 7 gnosis vs Aether/lumine with her 7 elemental resonance AND the 8th gnosis element from paimon?
I feel that if u get all the power of all 4 shades of phanes, you get the he primordial one. Also I think that when the Tseritas gets all 8 elements together, pimon will be possessed and that will be the great betrayal, that one quest was talking about.
Speaking of Tseritas don't you think some of her harbingers are sus and are trying to actives they own goal in the organisation,Tartaglia is mainly out for battles and trying to get stronger to be on par with the travler like he is our rival and is trying to master the bow it's most likely for the abyss,he also the first harbingers to make an ally with the travler,Scaramouche is the best example of this he was an puppet without an heart cause his mother Ei Raiden abandoned him left to warders the land and join the fatui since they fun to be around and then in the Inazuma chapter we last saw him in the delusion factory,he nearly kill the travler but than Yea Miko show up and give him the gnosis, than in the library warrior event Tartaglia says he searching for him as he had gone rogue.
7:42 AHEM ok so uhm this spot here where we start the game doesnt look like where we fished up paimon look at the background theres no cliffs, also why would they stay in the SAME SPOT FOR 2 MONTHS either thats a important detail or hoyoverse messed up
When you mentioned "Moment" and is related to TIMING Rather than time itself. I remember that the other sibling told us he or she is up against the DESTINY. My only concern is why the other sibling doesn't interact with Paimon when they first reunite. Mona and scaramouch and the unreconciled stars has something to do also with the term "Destiny" on these game and those two are also significant on unlocking the mysteries behind these
I believe that paimon is the primordial one and the unknown God is one of the shades that control space. The primordial one wanted things to go as planned. The god of space sent the traveler to monstad. The god if time adjusted time so we followed the sequence of events. Finding paimon, dvalin, moraxs death. Childe's plan, basically everything we went through by now. It's all part of paimon's plan to achieve her goal which is still unknown
I think that Fatui and abyss are the wrong enemies we focus on. The thing with "reaching this world's end" has to do something with understanding why they are not the enemies (Hence the traveler joined Abyss). It was hinted many times by other lore channels and by the new Dainslief quest in the chasm. I think we will fight either Paimon or Celestia at the end because "that is what everyone's purpose is." Dainslief even said, "Defy this world with the power from beyond." also having something to do with Celestia (or even beyond) and how this world was made.
Watching this video after seeing a video abt the piecing together of the script that is different in every world being pieced together from the chasm. parallel worlds, along with the god of time, microcosms- it seems like the next interesting view i should take with the game’s lore
i understood phanes brought humans through Arc. hence, humans are 'aliens' in Teyvat. the primary beings/owners of Teyvat were vishaps which handled 7 elements (Azdaha being one of the 7 sovereigns)
@@legithuman5486 in that trailer only Morax's words were true. Whatever the storyteller says is exaggerated for storytelling purposes. We learn that in Noelle's hangout quest 2. And if we look at it like that, Azhdaha was already roaming about the world but geo lifeform are mostly blind, so Morax gave him eyes and made a contract
Barbatos: God of freedom Morax: God of contract Shogun: God of eternity Kusanali: God of wisdom (if its IS) Paimon: God of Guidance/ Loyalty The name paimon is from a spirit who is LOYAL to lucifer, according to a fandom, The spirit paimon can reveal all mysteries of the Earth, wind and water, what the mind is, and everything the conjurer wants to know. Notice something?? Wnd and water, We found paimon near the land of freedom, where the wind archon is and fished her out from the sea where the theorize birthplace of paimon is surrounded by waters. Also, Despite paimon baing a lil dummy, she still somehow remembers full well the history of most things which she shares them to the traveler "when he wants to know", making the traveler the conjurer.
There is something sad but funny about Smart Hulk saying time travel lol!!!!! Anyway, a very interesting theory surrounding Paimon and I just hope we do get some more lore around her because she can't just be there and be only the mascot, the annoying emergency food joke and that one character a good amount of people do not like. Again pretty good video!
I like the idea that time is the 8th Element with Paimon eventually becoming the archon of it (if only for a while), I was also thinking about how we still don't know what Dain manipulates, as the final chapter teased wasn't tied to a specific element and the region was the abyss. Now IDK how time/space abilities would work but I know I want to see it lol
I think Paimon was a moon sister who lived in Celestia. The Gods of Celestia killed her sisters one day for trying to rebel against them. One of the moon sister's spirit can be heard singing/crying in domains. The Gods either spared Paimon or Paimon agreed to do their bidding to avoid death. After the opening cutscene I think Sustainer returned to Celestia or was taken forcefully after the Gods had seen what had happened between her and the travelers. I think it was planned by Celestia for Paimon to wait for the traveler to wake up by their side and had the plan to pretend to drown when the moment arrived, so she could avoid seeming suspicious. The traveler seemed to trust Paimon enough to begin the journey with her. However as we know, Paimon is the one not letting traveler stray to far from the regions we've unlocked and always says "let's explore the area ahead later" as if she is stalling the traveler from finding the sibling. Paimon also foreshadows they will not meet a happy ending and get to go home. It's weird how she always talks traveler into doing meaningless quests which have no relation to finding the lost sibling. Paimon in lore can copy other's powers and can basically clone people/objects. It explains how she used the Sustainer's red cubes during the Jade Chamber battle. Also it's confirmed the characters we summon for are not the main story characters themselves, but rather "dream versions" copied by Paimon. Basically everything in the Paimon menu has to do with her cloning and time powers. Paimon in lore can extract the spirits of people and make copies of them, potentially being fatal to the originals. There is likely a connection between Paimon and Albedo/Albedo's evil copy, and during the Albedo Dragonspine event she foreshadows her and the traveler will split up in a devastating way.. maybe she means her future betrayal. Celestia may use Paimon to clone the traveler or clone his powers of being able to hop worlds as well as his immortality. Then the Celestia Gods can control and travel through the entire bubbleverse rather than just Teyvat. Paimon may also decide to sacrifice herself rather than going along with the Gods' plan, so she may end up letting them kill her for not going through with it, or she will fight them alongside the traveler. For now it seems like she is spying on the traveler while Celestia spies on the two of them, and her job is to actually prevent the traveler from getting to be with his sister by leading him to places to look for her, although Paimon knows she is very far from where they search. If the traveler woke up and Paimon wasn't there, he may have already reunited with his sibling. Not to mention Paimon breaks the fourth wall when you open the Paimon menu and she is floating there while staring at you (the player) with an annoyed/angered expression on her face. I think everything we do in the game is wrong, like using dream versions of cloned original characters and we are fighting on the wrong side. The other sibling seems to know this which is why they have know desire to go near the traveler and the sibling may know much more about Paimon than we do.
Ok so i’d like to point out something, it has been 2 months since aether has fished up paimon, i tried to find the location in the cutscene, either im dumb, or the location isnt on the game yet other than cutscene. So we cant be sure if they were close to the sundial altar when paimon was fished up
Well, the traveler didn't fish paimon in that spot in the beginning of the game. Here's why: First, he found her 2 months before that scene. 2nd, the background of the picture of the traveler fishing paimon isn't in that place.
I think paimon is God of time if not then at least some sort of celestial being...i mean look at her bro that cape with night sky on it , a star and a crown on her head , celestial Pilar design on her cloths. She's hella sussy.
I think it is more likely the songs venti sings talk about the seven sovereigns. He tells how their bodies became the world. The ones he talks about all have names from a different culture, and the thing they became can be related to the seven nations. There's a video about this if you're interested called 'naming the seven sovereigns'.
Can you explain to me what this 8th gnosis is (where it comes from...) ? I had to skip the Enkanomiya event and other things due to personal reasons and I feel lost here ...
@@warplex8942 I’m not too sure either and i might be totally wrong here which will be incredibly embarrassing but it might just have something to do with the gnosis looking like chess pieces? Idk if there’s meant to be eight or not??
@@_.c3xc4._ I think there are 6 chess pieces (Pawn - Bishop - Knight - Rook - Queen - King). So it can't be that. Well, let's just hope someone will answer this lol. (Or I need to watch/re-watch all of this channel videos, which can be long)
an interesting bit that you missed is that the main menu button is literally paimon, and if you access the main menu the entire game pauses like the world is frozen in time with paimon being the only thing allowed to move on screen, not to mention that you use the paimon menu to pass the time

my theory is that paimon is related to sillie(who guide for chest) because she also guide traveler. She may be god but not for humans, she is somehow related to sillie.
@@conquerorofevil8776 sillie theory 😹
Tree Of Life in Kabbalah consists of 11 elements in total, so we're still missing 2 - Daath and Yesod.
don't you think that Genshin is more inspired of Gnosticism ? and also, now that im typing it i think it can be both, because Gnosis means knowledge in greek.... hmmmm
@@bshthrasher Where are you getting all those names from ? can you explain your theory ?
Like Barbatos is the god of freedom, Morax the god of contracts and Beelzebul is the god of eternity, Paimon will be the god of… Sticky Honey Roasts
Yay, paimon is god of sticky honey roast
And Protection
God of Emergency Food
God of Fisherman’s Toast
God of food
8:23 about Paimon being "created at the exact moment to be rescued by the Traveler". I just remembered in the last part of Liyue archon quest, while we are talking to Zhongli about Inazuma and the Vision hunt decree, Paimon said that "it wasnt that bad last year".
It indicates that Paimon was already alive and going around Teyvat before meeting the Traveler.
well, she'sa Guide. so obviously she knows stuff about every country.
This could be due to having some properties of the supposed god of time or moments so she is kind of born with predetermined knowledge. This would be my conclusion but it seems very far fetched still.
Make Sense since Traveler Said "Until i met you 2? 6? Months ago"
but the traveler and paimon were already a lot of time togeder before the game started, during that time the trabeler was learninr the languaje and writeing of this world
Yea in the new sumeru world quest, paimon mentioned that she was not very happy 'before' she met the traveler, and that she is happier now
For being a Gacha game, people really don't give enough credit to how deep the lore of this game is. Seriously, I can't fathom the amount of research that went into building the lore of Genshin.
Edit: yall I don't give a damn if yall like a different gacha game better lmao go play it then
It’s amazing! The lore AND the music. Super appreciative of all the effort to make such a cool experience :)
the world building, sound design, character and environment design are all solid. At this point, it's promotions towards the game and in game events are a cultural phenomena. It's amazing to see
aye yo preach
Because its a gacha game with way worse % to hit a 5 stars compared to other gacha games, thus good lore and music are needed to keep this kind of gacha game alive.
Nice lore but mayber poor execution?
i've been finding that the archons' names are more in line with Goetic Demons, or at least derivations of those names.
I understand that you beleive you found something, but this has been talked abt since the release of liyue
This has been known since we knew the names of the gods
the fact that the archon's names are from the Ars Goetia/Lesser Key of Solomon has been known ever since we learnt Venti's name
Damn guys, let bro live lol, I didn't know this till I saw their comment
@@dbosstkkc6447 you probably just got into genshin theories, this was like the first genshi theory ever
I want to add a couple of things I noticed:
Her being there on the first arrival may have triggered the time anomaly
what did Makoto say already ? I don't recall her speak of Paimon during the new seed process
@@quantumfang2185 yes! It would also make all the time shenanigans in the Shogun quest make much more sense as it would then not be the powers of Makoto or Ei that caused it, but Paimon.

"Time extends into infinity;
Dreams illuminate each moment within
When both shine in unison..."
I think Time/moments are a reference to Paimon, and Dreams could refer to the traveler. But that is a loose interpretation.
To correct myself, "Dreams" are represented by Makoto and now Ei. The traveler represents "ambition", not "dreams".
Time Fuckery is a powerful tool.
It’s possible she, as God of Moments/Time has reappeared from the future and has those memories only in moments. That shade could’ve made sure she remembered only what Teyvat is. She could’ve been born before the apparent new timeline.
You aren't understanding, the Traveler met her the moment she saved her
doubt.. literally NOBODY ANYWHERE WE GO KNEW OF HER so where did she travel prior meeting us. .. in a circle with zero humans..?
u mean to tell me.. piamon travelled and literally zero katheryins know her until the first one we meet gets to see and interact with her..
she doesnt even know any of the people.. ncps even units who are running the places or the systems or orders etc..
SHE NEVER BEEN TO ANY OF THEM..
literally zero beings know of her prior to them meeting her with you...
she probably...
if piamon is a "og" god or something of that nature.. is obvius she would INHERENT NATURALLY MEMORIES.. so thats probably why she knows stuff..
how u know she didnt fall out of the "false sky" into the water similiar to how the twins came down.. they came inside meteorites by the way..
maybe piamon was formed and a star/fruit fell and landed in the water.. then just like aether who woke up WAY LATER after lumine who btw opened his "shell/space pod" aka meterite..
how u know piamon didnt just ironically "wake up" and was also underwater so insert the drowning part.. by ironically i mean it was PLANNED by whoever dropped piamon ...
and also MEMORIES in genshin are heavily focused/related to the "trees" easily explains why she knows a bit of teyvat..
remember lenorad.. his constellation fell from the sky.. and its kinda obvious the "stars" are the FRUITS of the tree..
so id say replace "egg" with SEED kinda like kusunalli's birth.. lol
again we literally play the game with her.. she is clearly NOT INFORMED at all of everything.. she knows the basics.. as if she has inherent memories of stuff.. and in away think agin kusinally.. she is still to YOUNG to full tap in to her powers and knowledge herself..
paimon in away if true.. fits that situation..
she didnt know how was ruling bodies in charge of any nation..
literally didnt know who jean was .. the knights.. the background.. didnt know the liyue stuff.. etc etc etc... she knew basic stuff.. still alot but clearly not a sign of a person actually having BEEN TO THOSE PLACES...
and NOBODY EVER AT ALL KNEW HER..
if anything i think the "imaginary tree" ON PURPOSE sent the twins and paimon to tyvat.. and they arent aware of it yet...
if not the tree then maybe the "primordial god" did..
also birth life death...recycle rebirth repeat thems..
no reason to assume the primodial if it is piamon also doesnt go thru this process... so taht means shes a kid thus has to regain/relearn stuff and even rediscover who and what she is...
again its odd that in all of genshin.. piamon got the same damn crown on her head thats above all the trees in all the dungeons.. bruh look at her cloths..
sure morax is the god "of mora" butt lets be real.. HE WAS HIRED.. he didnt make that symbol nor did he make mora.. his power is GIVEN and he's essential MINTING MORA...
look at her sleeves.. its also on all the statues and in the domains...
paimon is fiercely loyal to the travellor and that also brings up another theory..
paimon is one of the kings of hell AND MOST LOYAL AND ONLY LOYAL TO LUCIFER..
twins names are probably not by accident
luminiferous aether aka Lumine and Aether
u can think of them as "fallen angels"
im more convince something set things in motion.. they were destined to be together...
Paimon teaches all arts, philosophy and sciences, and secret things; he can reveal all mysteries of the Earth, wind and water, what the mind is, and everything the conjurer wants to know, gives good familiars, dignities and confirms them, binds men to the conjurer's will.
its almost as if piamons does that on a basic level WHILE getting everyone to like and love u as the MC.. aka binding people to the MC
again its still speculation. .. butt i easily gave explanations taht perfectly explain what u have issue with.. wether its true or not.. we have to wait and see...
so right now.. im more convinced.. paimon FELL FROM THE SKY landed in the ocean.. the woke up from her "seed/meteorite" whatever and was instantly drowing and the MC "saved her" the question is.. did the mc witness her "land" then come up .. or was she down there the whole time and woke up from her "shell" when the mc happened to be near by..
we dont know what happened prior to that event... all we know is that for 2months piamon taught the MC the language and its also why she is the MAIN voice for us.. shes helping us to make sure we understand by repeating/rewording what npc's say which annoyes many players.. shes not doing that for the players as if they didnt understand.. tbh lore wise shes doing to make sure the MC understands lol... also we dont know what paimon and the travellor told each other during those 2months ouside of teaching language.. maybe the MC trusts and told piamon he fell.. becasue he saw her fall themselves or she told him she came from above.. WE KNOW NOTHING butt thse are very plausible explantions .. not "issues" that u say u have..
I remember her saying that she's actually closer to that of an adult than of a child even tho she's small.
And if your theory about someone did in fact mess up the timeline then it kinda makes sense because at the start of the game the time is pretty much still
or Hoyoverse left out some continuation problems in the story and that's why its strange.
SHE BEYOND A GENUIS when she grows up...
its almost if an all knowing god went thru a birth life death then rebirth .. aka she literally maybe a toddler GOD..
in no universe would i ever call a child dumb if it was speaking full langauge and helpign solve problems and etc.. despite often child like behaviors.. xD
also yes its obvious both the traveloor and piamon know more about each other then the game reveals to us about what they know...

"Paimon teaches all arts, philosophy and sciences, and secret things; he can reveal all mysteries of the Earth, wind and water, what the mind is, and everything the conjurer wants to know, gives good familiars, dignities and confirms them, binds men to the conjurer's will."
sounds like piamon is doing all the above on a basic level and lowkey getting all the npcs and units to love and be on the travellors side.. lmao
putt it like this.. it makes sense.. we just dont know enough yet to make sense..
perfect example..
the time gap of lumine and aether waking up.. and who woke up first.. literally nobody understood the order till the MC finally revealed what happened. and then it made sense.. xD
butt i gave some examples that could actually be the case...
we fell from the sky.. no reason to assume piamon didnt.. mayb see she did.. maybe she woke up underwater just like aether woke up way later then lumine.. and the MC and Piamon were in the same place when she woke up thus they meet.. EASY.. is it true.. ? who knows.. butt it does make sense and could be one good explanation..
also maybe paimon also told the MC she came to the planet .. hence why the MC then told her their story of coming here too..
again we got zero info prior to that even and we have NOTHING AFTER THAT EVENT till 2months later when the game starts...
we dont know what the hell piamon and the MC told each during that time paimon was teaching thim the langauge.. fyi she didnt travel to any regions...cause NOBODY.. not one person KNOWS HER OR HAS SEEN HER... so that means she got her knowledge some other way.. again im convince its innate memories... the issue now lies on if she is aware and not telling or doesnt know herself...
there is really nothing else taht makes sense to me..
so even though im not a fan of "hatching from an egg" butt more so a meterite OR a SEED that fell which again we know the false sky and the stars are FRUITS and fruits have SEEDS and the tree is MEMORIES and stores them within itself and its fruits. . aka constallation are "stars" like Lenords story which is the FRUIT falling from the heavens..
so "How did piamon get in the water..?"
she FELL IN.. literally again probably from space in her "pod " and woke up drowing..

When you said each shade were made up of two elements I thought that it can be presented like :
Istaroth :- wind (queen piece) and time (king piece)
2nd shade:- two rooks
3rd shade:- two knights
4th shade:- two bishops
I was thinking something similar but along the lines of:
Time + Anemo
Space + Hydro
Death + Geo
Life + Cryo
Since Ishtaroth was mentioned and said to be a God of Time and "undying wind" I figured that this "undying wind" might have been the term that they might have used to interpret the element of oxygen, meaning the other 4 shades might preside over the 4 elements used to create the universe and are abundant in it: Oxygen, Hydrogen, Carbon, and Nitrogen.
@@rak4012 I think you're right- notice how there's a white twin and a black twin (the colours of their clothing before lighting up)

Death - Pyro & Cryo,
Life - Dendro & Hydro,
Anemo Queen
Pyro & Electro Knights
Dendro & Geo Rooks

When you spoke about Paimon besting someone, I immediately thought of Traveler. We've been getting implications of Paimon betraying them lately. Also, it's expected for Traveler to be able to manipulate all of the seven elements by the end of the storyline.
Betraying? :0
when did paimon betray traveler?
@@Yuunarichu During the Enkanomiya world quest and the tanuki event, there was dialogue that implied Paimon potentially betraying Traveler at some point in the main storyline. There’s also the old theory of Paimon being the unknown god to consider. 7:44 this is actually untrue
as much as i wish it was true to buy some times, the traveler doesnt fish up paimon there.
Her principle will be Emergency Food, which is to say, Food That Is Specifically Set Aside *Until The Moment It Is Needed.*
We are waiting for the perfect moment to eat Paimon
It occurs to me that her entire quest for a refrigerator so that her fruit would stay fresh until she wants to eat it again could be considered evidence that this is, in fact, her divine principle.
holy shit wait you have a point-
what if hoyoverse keeps pushing the emergency food thing because paimon's fate is tied to the concept of emergency food: having something that's always there that you know you'll have when the time comes that you need it most
Now that I think of it, she always wants mora, but never really storms it on anything (since the only material thing she really cares about are food and drink, but she's got the Traveler to make her gourmet food at any random campfire pot and stove they come across), so it's like she's just storing away cash in an emergency fund until the moment it becomes necessary.
In the Genshin Manga isn't Venti referring to other real life mythos? Pangu being Chinese, Purusha being Indian and Ymir being Nordic? I assume so just because before he talks about that he says "in other, distant worlds"

Yes, venti did.
@@The_Indomitable_Human_Spirit_1 there is a possibility tho since it isn't mentioned anywhere and she also teleported the twin around 500 years apart

they both have some amount of control over time so it makes sense
Since it’s theorise that he might be like the unknown god, a shade of the primordial one
well dainslief said it come forth if you know the meaning of your journey if you are the one to protect her , who is the her he's talking of ? could it be the god of time , to set it back on track
most likely, dain meant lumine, since the MC in travail is Aether
Well to put it simply, he was talking about Lumine.
You can see Aether alone near the end of that video,
even though hoyo said that "both or canon" whatever.
@@darkneko972 well what I thought to but makes no sense as we play as lumine or aether , so would mean I think of the death of the sibling we are not playing , which I doubt they have in mind as an end
What if that 'her' is paimon? I might be overthinking here but I'm in the comment section of a theory video so..
7:48 where your voice got all serious and intense music started playing I had a mini seizure
Y’know when you’re explaining theories and you get all excited with your friends and have that happy little intense kinda feeling? That’s how I felt when you were exploring the beach omg
7:10 wasn’t Barbatos a simple wind spirit before achieving archonhood?
Perhaps Paimon is God of time, one of the primordial ones who perhaps betrayed (or escaped the fate of sacrifice), was wounded horribly during escape and flew back to where she was safest in, in Monstadt.
In norse mythology, the world was created from the body of Ymir, just like Venti described in the manga. I'm Norwegian, so I am more familiar with norse mythology than greek. That's how I got into the genshin lore in the first place, since I recognised things that might have been inspired from norse mythology.
What's your opinion on Thor (the marvel character)
It sounds weird, aye. But that's what happened according to Genshin.
Awesome! I love hearing stuff like that :D
So I think they're an attempt to foreshadow Teyvat's darker workings and Venti's knowledge and importance.
another thing i found interesting is when u defeat the abyss lector at the end of the enkanomiya quest, he states that even paimon could turn on us
I guess this makes the Traveler the luckiest character in Teyvat by those means. My hypothesis is that Celestia is using Paimon’s “moments” to subconsciously track the Traveller’s whereabouts throughout Teyvat. I believe, as powerful as they are, that that’s something they would do if they wanted to prevent what remains of Khaenriah from rising up again.
I noticed Honkai 3rd Impact also does some story elements to this effect as well, knocking down the hero again when it seemed like he was finally holding onto all the right cards he needed.
great video as always, one problem though,
i am pretty sure the place we fished paimon out of water is guyun stone forest, specifically yaoguang shoal, observing the grass type and sharply cut rock formations in the background. It might just be for the *aesthehtic purposes though for a nice first impression since yaogoang shoel is a very pretty landscape
When I talk about Genshin theory, one question I always think about is “Why is Paimon in the ocean in the first place?”
I do come to the same idea, but it’s too early to based everything and conclude it. Though I wonder if Paimon was to help guide the traveler and to bring him/her to the other answer that the abyss twin couldn’t in the past.
The Imaginary power from Honkai and the Triquite Symbol from Genshin is very similar in nature
Dainslief uses this power, also that power waa claimed to be not originated from the gods but from humans. Then honkai might be sus here
I thought he uses quantum.
Doesn't Dain use QUA?
um its just art of khemia which was invented/created in khaeri'ah
If you look at what’s on Dain’s arm it kinda looks like what happens with Otto.
Just a thought
I also like to think the Sustainer is actually corrupted, like Kiana, go based off what is covering her arm, it reminds me of a certain Honkai beast, the way those cubes move up her arm.
Speaking of Susty’s arms, they are different patterns! One is the cubes and the other is like an arm with a primogem, I’m not sure how to describe it. But I do think the two sides might be different powers
Paimon = Destiny
Your sister/Brother = wages war against destiny
Paimon is you're guide
Paimon is fulfilling your destiny, hence she is paving the destiny by guiding you in the right place and in the exact time.
Mona has a voice line where she said she cannot see the Fate of Paimon
Ofcourse because she is the Fate and Destiny
The other MC have been waging war against DESTINY
So my Theory is at the end
You will have to choose between
Your sister/brother or Paimon
That would be the most emotional scene on the entire story of Genshin impact
Your main Goal is to find your Sister/brother
But in the end she/he is up against your travel buddy in the entire game, Paimon
Me theorising that Paimon is Goddess of time who revert Teyvat time with her whole power and now is in Guoba state 👀
Personally,
I suspect that Paimon is (part of) one of the shades.
The title made me think of "go into the water" from metalocalypse 😭😂
I really really really hope paimon never betrays us 😭she's like a daughter/sister to me 🤧
Edit: i meant daughter/sister but wrote daughter/daughter 😭😂
Nani!
Now I will imagine paimon callime us anaki or onii chan
I thought the Traveller fished Paimon up a few months before the player takes control at Starfell Valley beach.
doesnt even look like mondstadt in the picture
That would be in line with weird game mechanics like how do we wind forward the time in game? Aether having a ridiculously big backpack Is related to some space manipulation but time one is related to paimon for sure
I never felt this excited for a story of a game in so many years.
Thanks for igniting that curiosity for me
Ever since that long discussion during the stream about this, is was anxious for the full video… and you surpassed every expectation. As always! Looking forward for more… can’t wait for what Sumeru might bring.
The creation background gives a darker tone to the joke of Paimon being emergency food.
On the topic of Greek Mythology I believe Aether shares his name with a Greek Primordial God
another banger of a video! regardless if there are supposed holes in your theories or not, they are incredibly entertaining and relaxing to watch. i even sleep to these! :3
I like the theory that Paimon was made by the sibling to help us with our journey.
Edit: I did some more research into Ymir and well
1. His brains did indeed get thrown into the sky and turned into the clouds
2. His skull (which was thrown ig up first bc there was no sky) made the sky
3. His blood made the seas and lakes
4. His unbroken bones made mountains
5. His broken bones and teeth made stones rocks and sometimes boulders
6. He made hundreds of ice dudes and he’s also Odin’s grandfather
7. He somehow (found?) a cow who then licked a stone into the shape of a human that then gained sentience
Yes! I was waiting for you to mention about the nameless island
Paimon is the name of one of the demons/spirits in these texts and describes their abilities as such, they know of all the affairs in the world, can fly and breathe underwater, are able to summon other spirits, and can force visions upon others.
Also, do not forget, that Paimon is the only living being that moves when you are pausing the game (also winds are not being stopped).
I’ve never really counted that. It’s never been clear if UI elements such as pausing and time skipping are intended lore effects.
@@TeyvatHistoria still a neat touch (or a hint), I'd say.

That's where you fought the 4 ruin guards, in Guyun Stone Forest
I really agree with you. One other thing about time. Some sort of time travel, but also the length of time. The 500 year marker that is in the game is when Khaenri’ah fell. Many of the things in the lore happened thousands to hundreds of years prior to that time.
that explains what is meant with "The creator has yet to arrive. for you shall ascend"
They better not turn the emergency food meme into an event foreshadowing.
OK. When you mention Ei's quest that Ei herself is the one who plant the sacred sakura. Maybe Paimon is created by the traveler in the future. Sound cliche, but I can see this coming.
Explains why she is the travelers "guide" perhaps she is leading him in the right direction their future self needs them to go.
One might say that Paimon conveniently being in the sea for the Traveler to pull out was rather... fishy
I'll see myself out
🚪⬅️
My mind has blown… no, exploded!!!! Man your theories are crazy!

7:45 I'll stop you there. You cant tell me that the traveler and Paimon sat on that beach for 2 months
When you mentioned "Moment" and is related to TIMING
Rather than time itself. I remember that the other sibling told us he or she is up against the DESTINY.
My only concern is why the other sibling doesn't interact with Paimon when they first reunite.
Mona and scaramouch and the unreconciled stars has something to do also with the term "Destiny" on these game and those two are also significant on unlocking the mysteries behind these
"paimon you must become the genshin impact" -sustainer
Ooh. Adding an 8th gnosis actually completes the number of officials in a chess board. So the fact of having an 8th gnosis is most likely true.
"Time flies when contemplating Life, The Universe, and Everything."
lol so cheeky.
42.
@@TeyvatHistoria Yes indeed. Also, Paimon flies.
ahh yes new video of sir teyvat historia
I believe that paimon is the primordial one and the unknown God is one of the shades that control space. The primordial one wanted things to go as planned. The god of space sent the traveler to monstad. The god if time adjusted time so we followed the sequence of events. Finding paimon, dvalin, moraxs death. Childe's plan, basically everything we went through by now. It's all part of paimon's plan to achieve her goal which is still unknown
What amaze me is they mix in so many mythology but somehow it makes sense.
@coffee cloud yeah, azhdaha was mostly created by morax, before he was just a fancy looking sentient rock
This man just explained the whole genshin impact story line in 10 minutes
Barbatos: God of freedom
Morax: God of contract
Shogun: God of eternity
Kusanali: God of wisdom
(if its IS) Paimon: God of Guidance/ Loyalty
The name paimon is from a spirit who is LOYAL to lucifer, according to a fandom, The spirit paimon can reveal all mysteries of the Earth, wind and water, what the mind is, and everything the conjurer wants to know.
The other sibling seems to know this which is why they have know desire to go near the traveler and the sibling may know much more about Paimon than we do.
i always thought she was there cause she tried to grab a fish but realised she couldnt swim
Okay time to revise physics.
Good day to you teyvat, amazing video as always!!
I guess that’s why Piamon is the emergency food.
This is why I love this game. The lore is so deep.
Whoever created the story plot of genshin impact is remarkable genious and has to be awarded 👍
So like- none of this made sense to me at first BUT THEN YOU BROUGHT UP PAIMON AND THE ITHER GNOSIS AND I WAS LIKE OHHHHH
(Or I need to watch/re-watch all of this channel videos, which can be long)
@@warplex8942 fr😭😭sorry to be of no help
@@_.c3xc4._ Ahah don't worry !
an interesting bit that you missed is that the main menu button is literally paimon, and if you access the main menu the entire game pauses like the world is frozen in time with paimon being the only thing allowed to move on screen, not to mention that you use the paimon menu to pass the time
imagine if the game ends and we wake up and it’s all a dream
I believe you will reach your goal so quickly you shall be blown away!!
