It’s very safe! Be careful to stay high enough above as sometimes the sensors can’t detect the moving/reflective surface of the water like it can solid ground. I look at it this way, there are no trees to crash into! Haha also it is something that takes practice and confidence building. Take one slow flight over water and start there 👍🙏🏻
I can second this - with $500 you can go with the mini 2 Se fly more combo or the mini 3. For $550 you can get mini 3 with RC remote which has built in screen. Either way can't go wrong
I bought a HolyStone HS 440 off Amazon. What a poor piece of kit that was. Unstable, couldn’t hover in one place…..it was cheap at £90, but that’s no good if the thing can’t do what it needs to. Has been returned to Amazon as faulty. Looking at getting one of these, just trying to determine if it’s stable, will hover in one place , and if the gps will enable it to return home. The HolyStone didn’t tick any of those boxes. Buy cheap, buy twice ..as they say. These are up for sale with the extended flight kit for £379……. Which sounds like a good deal Or am I kidding myself ?
It becomes more meh in short form. When you crop the 2.7k you’re left with even less quality. I would watch some of my long form videos on a larger screen. Especially ones I uploaded in 4k. The mini 2se can definitely capture great footage. Just needs to be in the most supportive format.
I make sure to shoot in 2.7k and use the grid lines to “crop the shot” and when you upload the wide video into UA-cam it will auto crop to 9:16. I made a long video on this that may be helpful.

How come you have a portrait mode in mini 2 se? It's a feature not available for this model.
Best way to do it is to make sure you shoot in 2.7k and then crop 9:16

It’s actually much easier than I first thought. If you upload the original wide version you can auto crop it in the UA-cam app to fit the short feed

In your Videos the videoquality of the SE2 always looks meh. Is it the UA-cam Videocompression or is the Camera meh?
