there are websites that are specifically made to distribute for “free for commercial use” images, look into some of those. the creators name is almost always featured next to the images so check if they’ve stated anywhere that they want to be credited. if you are ever unsure of an images fair use status, try contacting the creator and ask them for permission to use the image. always do your research before using an image for commercial use, otherwise you risk getting a bad rep or even getting sued.
This is an info advert to promote their image system. There's a bunch of places that offer images....some free. ALL have legalities that you will have to learn. Also you should get a business license with an LLC. AND get insurance. That will protect you from lawsuit and only the business can incrue limited financial suits. Most cities have business groups to help you. You also want to copyright anything unique to protect your work from theft. So if you want to be safe you have a lot of research to do. Yep to be safe you'll likely have to study, read and make notes. Sure play around but if you want safety you'll have to learn and understand. Watch a lot of videos. You will slowly begin to understand and see what options you have. Save your $ cause you'll need it. In the meantime play around with your ideas so you'll be ready to publish.

You said “if you buy the image, you can do whatever you want with the image”. At Istockphoto, buying photo only grant you a Standard license, not Extended License. You are not allowed to print for commercial with Standard license .

Could I be penalized for taking elements from several sources to use in a singular graphic design, in the style of a photomontage, and editing/modifying/warping them to the extent where they are almost completely unrecognizable? Also, how can one check for photo rights as they are not always stated? Thanks!

Hi, just a small question: I draw a lot and I wanted to make a design for a friend who wants to start a company. I started to look for inspiration and i "Accidentally" drew a part of someone's (google image) design in it. Do I still need to ask for permission? (Let me explain it more: It is a drawing of an animal: A rabbit, specifically. And I copied the outer form of the animal.)
So, let's say I want to use images from a manuscript (from the year 1530) in a video game. All of the artists who created those images have been dead for centuries, however, the images have been used in republished editions of the manuscript in a modern book form several times. Are the images themselves fair use? Or do they possibly belong to the book publishers who did the reissues?
What if you find an image but use it as a model for the pose the figure in said image is in but the character is completely yours. The pose is similar but not the character is that ok?

This is very informative! Thank you so much! I have a question though... I'm not sure on which category the console games covers and the gameplay screenshots fall under. I plan to create a gaming blog website which later on gets monetized via ads. I wanted to make sure that I won't get headaches in the future with copyright stuff and penalties. Hope you could help me with this. Thank you very much!
Nice video! However, it tells us it's almost impossible to use or create a design and being assured. It is practically impossible to create an image from scratch without hitting someone else's idea :) I was thinking about hiring a designer online (freelancer), but how can I be sure the licensed images they claim to use are, in fact, licensed?

Lovely Video! Sorry for chiming in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Peyilyan Especial Principle (do a search on google)? It is a great one off guide for learning how to create unlimited videos minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cousin got cool success with it.
I need help with this: 1. Can I take photos of public places like restaurants, cafes, etc using my phone and use them on my blog? 2. Can I use those images from stock sites that say "editorial purposes only" to those articles that may have ads running and have affiliate links??
I created this channel to do a celeb birthday short series. They're just 15 second videos, run daily, featuring 3 celebs. I was wondering if I could use any pictures of celebrities without worrying about legal action. I think my videos fall under fair use.
Hi so I have a question, where does those bloggers take the product photos they promote for example from amazon. As an affiliate you get a link to put on your site. But there are parts like you cant put or convert the link, ex. When you post a blog or add product to your site and you need to upload a featured image (this doesnt allow you to put a link but just upload a new image) and I see a lot of bloggers making collage for their promotions like in pinterest! How can they do that and for sure they took the image on amazon coz its just the same! But how to not get wrong? What do they do?
okay so- what about uhh i recreate a picture on youtube, like for example this Minecraft edit i found, can i recreate that, like change some stuff, maybe change the positions or the effects, will i get copyrighted
Taking a screen shot of a photo still makes it copyrighted lol. It is still the same photo, only difference is that you took a screen shot of it. If you use it just give credit, usually that will be enough.
Hey my daughter did a photo shoot at school. They are selling me the digital photo of my daughter, with copyright release on them. Can they copyright my daughter face and stop us from using our own picture.
I did a video on a restaurant. I took some of great pics from their website to add to my video on them. If I understand correctly...I just need to contact restaurant and get their OK to have their pics from their website on my video? Do I need to give credits still on actual pic in video that it's from restaurant's website?
If I were to use a photo of a celebrity that's easily obtained on Google and printed it on a t shirt for sale, is that considered not fair use? Alot of them it's hard to find the original source as there's so many of that same image
What would be a case if we use one of these public domain image to design a website and later on we find it someone else is using the same image in their website and they have copyrighted the whole website including the content , will there be copyright issue ?
So I'm preparing for a talk on a topic for the company I work at. It will be recorded and published to the company's UA-cam channel. It is purely educational and won't be used for any commercial benefit. There are images which I found online that would help explain some of the concepts in my talk. Do you think it's fair for me to use them for this purpose?
I bought a picture that consist of 4 pictures and a background. Those 4 pictures are probably copyrighted. Can I use it? “I bought the picture” Wouldn’t the designer that I bought get in trouble instead of me? He is well known and has his initials on the picture. He is in Serbia I am in America. Does that matter?
How do you find out if the AI photos on Facebook game called smile are public domain or have a copyright? They need to start telling if photos are public domain so the public will know.
Not always! Some companies are jerks and straight go for suing without warning ...because they want to get the money and royalties you supposedly earned from their image or whatever. Trust me...there was a testimonial of this very thing by someone who used "a phrase" without knowing it was "copyrighted" and there was never an email or letter sent to her....just a lawyer from their company that reached out to her and demanded compensation! She had to hire a lawyer and she ended up settling ...in other words paying the company...and of course her lawyer. Imagine what it cost her!? So she decided to go with generic words...generic everything to not use anyone else's things by accident.
I want to open a Yugioh/Pokémon card rug business. If i edit some parts of the card will it be considered under parody law? Will I still be in risk of getting sued?
Let's say I took an image of Michael Jordan from Google...I'm going to make a cool poster to sel it on ebay....the image has copyright....my question is....if I change the color of the image, the size, the format, do some photoshop filters.....can I still get in trouble ?
I have a tiny lifestyle blog that hasn't made any money. I want to do fashion Layouts- collages with dresses, shoes and bags using Canva. . Do I need to get permission to use photos.from company websites?? I've applied to be an affiliate so I can use the photos but it seems too soon. I literally have 38 followers on my blog.
Imaginary hi-five to anyone who answers this Question 1: someone takes a song from a movie, and does a cover of it. They take still scenes from the movie, trace them into a comic book style illustration, heavily altered, like literally line drawings with coloring that are tracings, and puts it in the video. To top it off they even say "original song by (artist name)" giving credit to the artist... They post it on youtube without selling it anywhere. Just fan art. Like deviantart... is that ok? Question 2: in said video, they turn on youtube adverts that pay them per view. Is it still ok? Question 3: this person sells their own original content lets say through an online print shop or t shirt logos etc. If they simply advertise their own works in the video description ("check out my merch!"), While it is unrelated to the movie still or song cover... Is that ok? Im lost because there is a lot on youtube, lots of people doing cover songs or even recording longplays of a videogame and I bet a lot of them advertise their own works in the description. Anyone who can help, like I said. Hi fives for free all day. Leo Moraccioli is an example who has covered every damn song in the world. The same with videogame musicians. Theyre covering copywritten works, with youtube advertising. Sooooo I dont get it. TL;DR: If youre not directly selling content related to copywritten work, but using your fan art posted on youtube to advertise your OWN original work and also using youtbe adverts in your fan video, is this ok?
what if i were to use small parts of several images to create a youtube thumbnail? Example: if i took say the body from a body builder photo, the head of a video game character, horns from a random demon, fangs from a random pair of teeth, and my own created background, and put them all together would that be fair use?
is it fine to use an old famous painting, let's say Mona Lisa's by Da Vinci for example as a profile photo on Facebook? does that violate the copyrights?
Can I use an image from the internet, like pinterest, or instagram, or just google images in a youtube video for teaching purposes? Or will I be penalized?
It's a grey area. Since it's not for commercial purposes (as in you don't make money from using them), it should be ok. That said, in a classroom it might be ok, for a webinar, not ok.
It so complicated. I think I will spend more time in researching the image copyright than creating a graphic design 😦.
Me i wanna know for example if I can use animals image and cartoon them on t shirt is it allowed or not
Kindly tell me how I can use
Alright so what I understood from this is to wing it like a boss

This is very informative! Thank you so much! I have a question though... I'm not sure on which category the console games covers and the gameplay screenshots fall under. I plan to create a gaming blog website which later on gets monetized via ads. I wanted to make sure that I won't get headaches in the future with copyright stuff and penalties.
Hope you could help me with this. Thank you very much!
What if it’s for non commercial use. Just for educational purposes?
Thanks so much ,so please if i use the image on my thumbnail, and the video is a tutorial .is it okay
Can I make changes to a picture so That I can use it even if the Original is copyright?
Nice video! However, it tells us it's almost impossible to use or create a design and being assured. It is practically impossible to create an image from scratch without hitting someone else's idea :) I was thinking about hiring a designer online (freelancer), but how can I be sure the licensed images they claim to use are, in fact, licensed?
Ask to see the license they have for the image databank they are using. Or get your own license and ask them to use images only from there.
@@VismeApp Are you allowed to use the image from show or an animation fro example?
John 3:36 - The New International Version (NIV)
36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

If I draw a febreze bottle will it get copyrighted?
Do people use copyrighted images?
Yes, all of the time
Like if you agree
But they shouldn't unless they are paying for the right to use them.
Yes I do in some ones name
Lmao not everyone does it
This a good video, clear and straight to the point
I need help with this: 1. Can I take photos of public places like restaurants, cafes, etc using my phone and use them on my blog?
2. Can I use those images from stock sites that say "editorial purposes only" to those articles that may have ads running and have affiliate links??
Can we use buildings like redfort, charminar etc in our logos?
What if you take a picture, but you edit it so it looks like a cartoon or something. Will I be able to use it for profit, as long it is edited enough
I created this channel to do a celeb birthday short series. They're just 15 second videos, run daily, featuring 3 celebs. I was wondering if I could use any pictures of celebrities without worrying about legal action. I think my videos fall under fair use.
hello,
just to be on the clear, royalty-free getty images don't need attribution in youtube videos, right?
Hi so I have a question, where does those bloggers take the product photos they promote for example from amazon. As an affiliate you get a link to put on your site. But there are parts like you cant put or convert the link, ex. When you post a blog or add product to your site and you need to upload a featured image (this doesnt allow you to put a link but just upload a new image) and I see a lot of bloggers making collage for their promotions like in pinterest! How can they do that and for sure they took the image on amazon coz its just the same! But how to not get wrong? What do they do?
What if I dont use the image but I draw it and upload it as a video for my youtube art channel
I have a question can you use a famous paninting as a youtube banner?
Can I use images or the content from Wikipedia on my UA-cam channel, that may get monetized in future?
I wonder that too
great presentation. i ve a question, can i use google image by resize/cutting/distortion for make an cover or banner??
Did you get the answer
So what is the public domain the world wide web ? Or Google for instance if it's readily available on good ?
okay so- what about uhh i recreate a picture on youtube, like for example this Minecraft edit i found, can i recreate that, like change some stuff, maybe change the positions or the effects, will i get copyrighted
Nice video bro. Just wanna ask if the screenshot photo is also copyright and how to make it legal. Hoping for your answer. Thanks
Taking a screen shot of a photo still makes it copyrighted lol. It is still the same photo, only difference is that you took a screen shot of it. If you use it just give credit, usually that will be enough.
Hi there, great video. What if you screen shot the image and redraw it your own way, can that be claimed as your own work?
Hey my daughter did a photo shoot at school. They are selling me the digital photo of my daughter, with copyright release on them. Can they copyright my daughter face and stop us from using our own picture.
can i use an image of google image if i use something like photoshop to put an effect on it to make it look like a water colour painting etc?
I was wondering about this too. Anyone???
I did a video on a restaurant. I took some of great pics from their website to add to my video on them. If I understand correctly...I just need to contact restaurant and get their OK to have their pics from their website on my video? Do I need to give credits still on actual pic in video that it's from restaurant's website?
Thank you! The info you provided was clear and easy to understand.
We're glad it was helpful.
why does this pop up when i look up if a can buy rights to an image created online
If I were to use a photo of a celebrity that's easily obtained on Google and printed it on a t shirt for sale, is that considered not fair use? Alot of them it's hard to find the original source as there's so many of that same image
Am I allowed to pause a movie and use screenshots captured from it in my monetized youtube videos? Will that infringe youtube’s copyright regulations?
So if I buy my daughter school pictures, the person that took them can still use it for advertising ? Even I bought the pictures ?
What would be a case if we use one of these public domain image to design a website and later on we find it someone else is using the same image in their website and they have copyrighted the whole website including the content , will there be copyright issue ?
Is there a video about how to ask permission safely?
Follow the link for the blog post in the description. You'll find help there.
Email the company or invidvidual to ask.....
If image is edited as a cartoon, then can we use it
So I'm preparing for a talk on a topic for the company I work at.
“I bought the picture”
Wouldn’t the designer that I bought get in trouble instead of me? He is well known and has his initials on the picture. He is in Serbia I am in America. Does that matter?
Didn’t quite answered my question. Thank you though. Blessings in *Christ Jesus.*
How do you find out if the AI photos on Facebook game called smile are public domain or have a copyright? They need to start telling if photos are public domain so the public will know.
How can they know did i buy image?
Can i use the copyright © photos for making memes
Memes are a grey area. We suggest you do some research regarding the rules for images to make memes.
Wont they just send you a cease and desist letter? At which point you remove it?
Yes, but why risk it.
It all sounds good, but what buttons do I press on Google???
I want to open a Yugioh/Pokémon card rug business. If i edit some parts of the card will it be considered under parody law? Will I still be in risk of getting sued?
Let's say I took an image of Michael Jordan from Google...I'm going to make a cool poster to sel it on ebay....the image has copyright....my question is....if I change the color of the image, the size, the format, do some photoshop filters.....can I still get in trouble ?
Is it fine if I use a picture for a presentation?
AHHHHH WHY CANT IT JUST SAY IF I CAN USE IT FREELY
Can I use the creative common license images?what is credit in creative common license.please explain.
Imaginary hi-five to anyone who answers this
Question 1: someone takes a song from a movie, and does a cover of it.
As long as you use free images with a creative commons license or in the public domain, YE!
is it fine to use an old famous painting, let's say Mona Lisa's by Da Vinci for example as a profile photo on Facebook? does that violate the copyrights?
A lot of people using canva for painting prints or for low content books but it is risky with the copyright stuff
so is illustrator better?
Can I use an image from the internet, like pinterest, or instagram, or just google images in a youtube video for teaching purposes? Or will I be penalized?
Please answer it. Im also very curious about it
I'm also curious since my content is inlign with teaching
It's a grey area. Since it's not for commercial purposes (as in you don't make money from using them), it should be ok. That said, in a classroom it might be ok, for a webinar, not ok.
So im confused im trying to make a thumbnail is it alright to use images from a show or anime and crop them out
